I ordered the steak, hash brown, egg, and cheese bagel, and wow... every bite was worth it. I had them add the hash brown to the bagel. You can pretty much add what you want on your sandwich. Everything is cooked fresh to order, and you can tell. I don't know what it is, but watching her crack that egg on the grill was oddly satisfying. It was like the beginning of something delicious, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The steak was tender, the hash browns added the perfect crunch, the egg was cooked just right, and the cheese pulled everything together. That toasted bagel? It held up like a champ. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food came out hot and fresh. I spent a few minutes staring at the menu, and now I already know what I'm coming back for... that stuffed French toast has my name written all over it. I just couldn't cheat on the bagel this time. Good bagels and convenient location, pretty large menu and able to fill whatever your breakfast or brunchy pleasure may be. A lot more here than just bagels and bagel sandwiches, you can get full breakfast platters and there is a sizable dine-in area if you want to eat in and connect with someone. Also nice, it's all counter service, so no waitstaff to tip. For my visit, I just got a egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, and I secured a BEC bagel for someone else to bring back. My bagel was pretty good overall, just not my favorite in the area. By the time I got there, most of the flavors had been cleaned out. The cream cheese was creamy, but I would have liked more scallions. The BEC eater thought there was solid too, but nothing spectacular. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot tucked away the corner of the Centre Stage shopping mall (behind Gianno's). Apparently the business has been around 2 years--how did I not know this?!?!?! Restaurant is counter service... you view menu, place order, and pay at register. Food is picked on opposite end of counter. We came during a midday morning lull and cashier was kind enough to bring out our food. Menu offers some unique selections as well as the usual suspects. They have a kids menu displayed at register. We ordered a Veggie Omelet, Chocolate Turtles French Toast, and Pistachio Cream Walnut (substituted Pecans) Bliss Belgian waffle. Everyone enjoyed their selections & there were even leftovers! By the time we finished eating, several people started trickling in for lunch. Dining room offers a high top table, bench seat table, and several 2-and 4-seat tables for dining in. Spacing in between tables provides ample room. Music is not too loud--you can engage in conversation without trying to talk over one another. This was our first time eating here for breakfast. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but since they only have one cook our food took awhile. I'm assuming this place is best known for their bagels or sandwiches because my stuffed French toast came out very cold. My husband liked the spice they put in the hash browns and my daughter was happy with her pancakes. The coffee was very weak. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment. Picked up a tasty bagel breakfast the other day. First time visiting this spot, which has a clean and modern interior. The menu has many breakfast options, plenty of bagel and cream cheese flavors I ended up getting a sausage egg and cheese bagel on an egg bagel. My wife enjoyed a California breakfast sandwich, both were great, but there was definitely a bit of sticker shock in the pricing. We ate here today for the first time, around 8:30 AM on a Sunday. The place was busy but not overwhelming. I ordered the Western omelet (comes with hashbrowns and toast) and coffee, and my husband got the Club Sandwich and potato salad. He got a side of chips included with the sandwich and a canned Pepsi. He said the potato salad was ok but a little sweet, but the sandwich was outstanding! Everything was perfect about it. My omelet was delicious and well prepared, and the hashbrowns and toast were perfect as well. The coffee I had was really good. We got a dozen bagels to try, and when we got home, we had part of one (we were still full, lol!), and they're great! By the time we had finished, the place was completely packed with adults and kids. Just a word of note...this is not a fast food joint. Everything is cooked to order. Be patient---it's worth waiting a few minutes. They do takeout, but it's worth eating in since the food is piping hot when it comes out. The interior reminds me of a lot of delis in the Northeastern US. The name suggests a location further up Eastchester past the Palladium, and a more established bagel shop is less than a mile away. This bafflement aside, 68 Bagel & Grill does have several things going for it. It's spacious and clean, the staff is courteous, and there are more menu options than you'd expect. Like the other area bagel shops, 68 offers bagels with various spreads, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches. To those, they add French toasts (including stuffed), pancakes, and omelets. The ability to get a more-than-a-sandwich breakfast without the bustle of a diner is a definite draw. The fact that they use Giacomo's meats is another perk in their favor. For my first visit, I picked up a Jersey Shore (Taylor ham/egg/cheese) on an everything bagel to go. The sandwich was prepped quickly, and the pricing was fair. The melty cheese/salty meat combination hit all the right flavor notes. The bagel, however, was chewier and breadier than a true New York style, and the texture seemed a bit off. They make them in-house rather than using New Garden as a supplier, so they get points for effort at least. If getting your hands on a great bagel is your only concern, you're probably better served going down the street. The pancakes are topped with slices of fresh bananas and pecans. The slices of bananas and pecans were falling off the pancake. Again, they do not slack on portions! I had two bites and was instantly full! This pancake is sweet but not overly sweet and very fulfilling . My husbands go to order is the reuben sandwhich on toasted Texas toast. This Sandwhich is so good! I think my favorite part of biting into this sandwhich is the crunch from the coleslaw. The thousand island dressing compliments the coleslaw well. It gives this sweet savory flavor .Who knew coleslaw could taste this good on a sandwhich with meat stacked on it. They don't stay open late so make sure you get here during breakfast/brunch hours. The menu has different bagel styles to choose from along with various cream cheese flavors. They also have various deli sandwiches options. We tried the PB&J bagel on whole wheat everything (jelly options are strawberry or grape), along with few plain bagels and cream cheese/Jalapeño cream cheese. The cream cheese flavors were ok, but we were a bit disappointed with the bagels as they were very hard, and did not really looked fresh. This is my first time trying 68 bagels and they did not disappoint. We had egg and cheese on tomato as well as everything bagel with cream cheese. I love it when my cream cheese is light and fluffy and there was a lot of it. This is better than most places that hardly give you any. The menu wall doesn't include pricing. You'll have to scan the QR code on the business card or they will start to ring up items so you can see it on the screen. Ok everyone. I've went to 68 bagel yesterday after seeing all the hype. I struggled with whether to write a review. But after a day of thinking about it I decide to write a review. To be honest I must be missing something. First off when you walk in there is just an open room with uncomfortable metal chairs and table randomly scattered around the room. I ordered an omelette with ham mushroom and cheese with hash browns and rye toast. Which you ordered at the counter and cost over $17.00 . It took forever to come out even though there was only one other table. My pager buzzed and I picked up my order at the counter. It was on a plastic plate with plastic utensils. The omelette was ok. The hash browns were cold and under cooked. The rye toast had no flavor and the butter was served in a plastic container. To top it off you had to pay for bottled water rather that all the other surrounding restaurants have ice water for free. I work in high point and there are several other better choices. Toms place. Carolina diner and Alex's house which you get more food for a better value that taste good. I am not sure how this restaurant has received so many good reviews but I will not be returning. read more
