After having a "mom's morning" to myself, I stopped in for a cooler and lighter lunch. I reviewed the menu, which I think is hard to see because it's straight up, and they want you to order as soon as you open the door. I settled on a Barbecue Chicken Cheddar Melt, which was decent. It had a ton of meat on it and that was hard to eat. I had to pull several slices off to make it where I could eat it without feeling like I was choking. The chips were a yummy and crunchy side. I also got a slice of coconut cake which was delicious and reminded me of times with my grandma years ago. Overall it's a nice place for a yummy slice of cake or a quick sandwich for lunch, but it doesn't give the comfy cozy feel of a bakery at all. It's rather cold, honestly. This was my first time visiting. Right away, the place caught my eye with a nice selection of baked goods, stuffed pastries, coffee, breakfast items, and sandwiches. I tried both the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. They were pretty good,nothing out of the ordinary, but solid and satisfying. The prices were reasonable, which is always a plus. I wouldn't recommend this spot for a big group, as there isn't much seating. Tables are small and better suited for about four people or fewer. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, I do have to be honest, the mac and cheese side was not good at all. Unfortunately, that was a miss for me, so I'd suggest skipping that item. Friendly service at this deli bakery. Boars Head deli products are extensive as well as their crafted bakery products. I ordered a custom sandwich today ( 12/1/25) along with chips and tea. The marble rye was very dry. The mayo and horseradish spread were not enough moisture and the roast beef portion was minimal. Sorry but this not at New York or Chicago sandwich. This is my first time visiting Ketchie Creek. It has a very inviting atmosphere w large overhead menus placed in a position that puts you front and center to all the eye popping bakery items. Expect, cakes, pastries, croissants and more. It also serves breakfast/lunch items and lots of different coffee choices and some teas. I noticed they have Chai as well. I ordered the avocado toast, it has a choice of toppings so I asked for everything which comes with the basic avocado spread on a thick piece of white, lightly toasted bread sporting a square egg patty on top of tomatoes that have a sprinkle of feta cheese and the everything seasoning. A little underwhelming in flavor and stingy on the avocado spread.on a thick piece of bread. Next up I tried their turkey Reuben and switched out rye bread for a marble bread. The Turkey Reuben, was very good although I wouldn't say it was a large amount of meat in it. It was warm and inviting. I liked it. I'm not a huge fan of sauerkraut but there wasn't alot on the sandwich and I even liked that just fine! My cappuccino could have been better, it wasn't rich and creamy w a bold coffee flavor that I'm accustomed to tasting. Wonderful desserts! We purchased an assortment for a family celebration and it was all a hit! We had chocolate eclair, key lime pie, and cheesecake. The cheesecake was light and perfectly creamy. The key lime was just as expected. I especially liked the fresh whipped cream and nutty crust. I did not try the eclair but my mother in law gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. We have always gone here for coffee and to get a pup cup for my standard poodle. Today, which just so happens to be the last day before we have to euthanize my poodle after his long battle with cancer, the cashier nastily refused to give us a pup cup. What? I had tried the Reuben and the Italian Sub, neither one of which came close to rivaling these classic deli offerings so readily available locally at spots like O'Brien, TJ's, Vinnie's, and several more. I thought perhaps it was worth a try to sample some standard diner sandwiches - so I ordered 1/2 sandwiches of Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, and Tuna Salad, all on white bread. Each sandwich was lightly filled, ending up with more bread than filling by a sizable margin - check out the photos as to amount of filling! At $5.25 or more per HALF a sandwich this is not nearly a value purchase. On top of the value issue, the quality of the fillings in all the sandwiches was simply not there! Weak quality, weak value not something I would recommend or return to. This place will always attract a crowd looking for a "cute" local spot to grab a cupa and a sweet, but if you want a filling, value meal, this ain't it. read more

I've been to Ketchie Creek a few times now. It's a cute little cafe with cold salads, a small menu of items, and baked goods. I can only speak to the baked goods I've tried, but they've all tasted great. Today I got the blueberry lemon bar which is served chilled, and the flavor is great! So glad we stumbled upon this place! We are always looking for a place to grab a latte and good sandwich for our day trips. Very happy with the quality and pricing. Paying $12 at Panera is painful. The iced latte was perfection, and they have such a great selection of sandwiches!! I loved the rotisserie chicken, havarti, and pesto Mayo! It's not often I need to write a review like this, but there are very few ways I could have been more dissatisfied with my lunch at Ketchie Creek in Clemmons. The staff were very friendly and doing things the way I assume they have been trained, which really points to some more core issues that should be addressed. First the good. Ketchie Creek is very attractive on the inside, and the shopping center it is located in is brand new. The inside seemed immaculately clean, and the staff were following correct COVID protocols. I did find it odd they weren't providing any hand sanitizer given how clean everything seemed, but I also do not expect this, even now. I have my own. Now the bad. The first thing you notice when you walk into this bakery... is that it doesn't smell like a bakery. The aroma of fresh baking breads and cakes, nowhere to be found. It is just sterile. My assumption is that the actual baking is done in the original location farther down the road in Mocksville and the items are brought here. I don't know how often that happens, but it does make things less enticing. I could forgive it easily if the end product was still impressive. It is not. At least not for sandwiches. I ordered the Rueben with pastrami on rye, and not one component of it stuck out as even average. Not even the rye bread, which I'd hope they bake themselves. The bread was sliced so thin that it almost seemed like I had ordered a Reuben on flatbread or something. A proper Reuben has a decent pile of pastrami along with a good helping of sauerkraut and fairly thick rye bread, sometimes cheese, sometimes deli mustard or 1000 island dressing. The meat on this sandwich was the stingiest portion I have ever encountered, the kraut had to be hunted for, I saw mostly cheese, and like I said... the bread was nothing. The sandwich was flattened like a patty melt, it might have been made in a sandwich press. If that is the case, that needs to be changed. It needs to be completely re-imagined, or taken off the menu, in my opinion. I ordered the pasta salad of the day with it, which was a "loaded ranch potato" version, but with pasta. This also was disappointing. A stingy portion again, the pasta was undercooked to where it was chewy and gummy. Had the pasta been cooked correctly and the portion a little more generous, the taste would have been good. I was at least relieved that they do give refills on tea complimentary, which was a good thing, because I needed something to wash down the hot dogs I stopped for on the way back to work. read more

Since it was my first time, I wanted to try out the chicken salad croissant, one of my favorite things! Overall, it was really good! They had a pasta salad of the day which was bacon cheddar ranch, so I got that as a side, but another patron in line recommended the broccoli salad so I got a side of that as well. The broccoli salad was AMAZING. Just enough of that zippy, sweet dressing, crumbled bacon and golden raisins - an unexpected yet delicious addition. I really liked the flavor of the pasta salad, but the noodles were just a little bit undercooked. The lemon poppyseed muffin I had was good and lemony and the glaze was nice and light, but compared to most muffins that are almost $3, the size of this was more like a mini muffin. My friend and I had a Cappuccino each, and they were good , nice and foamy, I don't know, I want to be a huge fan as it's local, they have a great variety of baked goods, cakes, cookies, brownies and lunch sandwiches and soups and salads. I feel like they need to be exceptional at something though. I'll go back and try something else because I'd rather come here than Goto the awful Panera bread round the corner. I had heard people talk about Ketchie Creek bakery and was excited to see the Clemmons location was finally open. We both got a slice of cake. I ordered a vanilla cake with confetti sprinkles and buttercream frosting, while my husband ordered a strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream frosting. While the slice was a decent size, the texture of the cake was as if it had been frozen for a few months and then thawed. Soon as I ask the lady in the register who is their coffee roaster.No idea what kind of coffee they offer is not surprising for a bakery but for a cafe it's a no. Get even more disappointed. I never tasted latte that sour. So I ask again who is their roaster and said its Fortuna. Love this place when they get it right BUT consistency is lacking when making lattes for sure. One day perfect and the next no flavor (warm watered down milk) then the next so sweet it's Undrinkable. I don't understand why so hit or miss. I would think each one should be made the same. I've definitely decided not to leave in the future till they get it right.
