A very hearty burger, wouldn't say smash, but pressed and delicious.

Add Sage Mule to the list of places that I would have sworn I have reviewed at some point, but a recent visit made me realize that I have in fact not done so! The truth of the matter, is that this place is definitely a community staple, especially for brunch, that has the kind of reputation that you can only reinforce, it would be difficult to deny. Well loved and patronized, with a menu that makes you want to come back to try the next delicious thing. One thing I have a hard time skipping on any given visit is the biscuits and gravy. It's probably my absolutely favorite version of this classic, taken in totality against every other place I have ever had it. At one point, Scrambled did it just slightly better, but that time has passed. Sage Mule stands alone for having the most robust flavor in that sawmill gravy, topping a decadent and buttery biscuit. It's hard to finish just because it's so rich. It's an entree but, honestly, best used as an appetizer because everyone at the table will want a taste. This time, I was feeling more lunchy, so I went with their version of a double smashburger and got those cheesy grits on the side that are also to die for. Cheese overload, but no ragrets. When I think smashburgers, I automatically assume it's gotta be a double. This one, woulda been fine with a single! In truth, I don't really consider what they've done here a true smash, there's simply not that ultra wide crispy brown layering, but it's still a pressed burger... and a darn good one, on a sturdy flavorful bun with nicely grilled onions. On the weekend, just be prepared that it will be packed through the brunch hours, and that when you do get seated, it is a tighter fit than most places in town. Regardless, you won't regret your meal here. I highly recommend!

The Sage Mule was a good breakfast place. Biscuits were fluffy and delicious. We got complementary biscotti which was delicious with the fresh coffee. They had plenty to choose from and something for everyone. Inside was crowded, but we were able to get seats quickly. Our server was nice and stayed on top of our needs.

We recently went here for weekend breakfast. The food was very good. My husband's omelet was great and the biscuit was delicious. My chicken and waffle were good, though I found the chicken a bit dry. The fruit bowl was also a bit disappointing, with some fruit that had sat a bit too long and gotten soggy. The server was kind and helpful if a bit inattentive. We arrived early and avoided the typical weekend crush, which was nice.

Our waitress was so kind. She made great suggestions and attended to us often. This is a very popular spot on the weekends, so plan on a short wait. It was a bit crowded this Saturday morning, but we didn't wait too long for our food. I was very pleased with our service. The food was delicious! I love their mugs. The kid's meal looked delicious. My friend's daughter really enjoyed her meal. The cheeseburger and Mac and cheese looked amazing! I could have ordered that lol. The veggie omelet was so good. The bacon was cooked just right. The biscuit! Wow! I could have eaten 2 or 3! The hash browns were made just like how I like them. This is a great gem for the city. I really enjoyed this visit.

When it comes to brunch, hardly any do it better than Sage Mule. And those are usually your own kitchens when you've got a live-in chef so-- The food is always fresh and locally sourced (see Neese's sausage ) as well as prepared with care and attention to flavor profiles. For instance the Buffalo chicken salad sandwich (pictured) was the right blend of Buffalo tang and Ranch creaminess. As always the fresh shoestring fries are crunchy, salty, and savory. Everyone there is warm and friendly, and the service is efficient and timely. Imagine a hole country cookin' farmhouse with bright morning light pouring through the windows and casual vibe while you catch up over a coffee and tasty breakfast. 10/10 would (always) brunch again.

My family and I recently enjoyed Sunday brunch at The Sage Mule, and overall, it was a great experience. We waited about 25 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. The service was excellent. Our waitress was personable and patient with us We began with coffees and juices. The standard coffee wasn't quite to my taste. My mother found it to be bitter, and I thought it had a unique flavor I couldn't quite place. It's likely a favorite for many, but it just wasn't my type of hype. I switched to an iced dirty chai (a chai latte with a shot of espresso), which was absolutely delicious. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes, including the chicken and waffles and several burgers. Every plate was well-prepared and satisfying. The Sage Mule delivered excellent service, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere, even if the coffee wasn't my favorite.

Continues to be our family's go-to spot for breakfast after so many years. Food always hits and service is prob. top 3 in town. Tbh, I almost always get the same thing here but some of their new menu items in rotation are worth getting/trying. Food orders have always come out right and can't think of a time where anything was bad or over/under cooked/seasoned. Staff is by far one of our favorites in town, super friendly and always inviting. Outside patio is the best. Highly recommend.

Quick breakfast review. We stopped at The Sage Mule while driving out to High Point University to move our son in for the fall semester. It's located in downtown Greensboro and there is ample parking on the street and the lot adjacent to the restaurant. The breakfast options have something for everyone. I went with the Bulgoggi Hash and it was delicious. My wife got an omelette with a side of fruit and our son just got a two egg scramble with bacon (no potatoes no toast). Like I said the food and the service here were great! This will be our "go to" spot for breakfast when we head out to HPU for weekend visits.

    Cheesy grits and breakfast burrito

The cheesy grits and chorizo burrito were the perfect comfort food on a chilly, damp day. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away--no wait at all. Place is bright, colorful with plants and advertising for local events. Torn between a few tempting options from the menu. I asked my server to surprise me, and she absolutely delivered. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Yes we are back to Sage Mule for breakfast. We shared the Gravy and Biscuit and Breakfast Egg rolls. And coffee with complimentary Biscotti. Everything was delicious. Thanks Sarah and Team Sage. Near Deep Roots. One of our favorites.

Their take on the sausage McGriddle. Delicious!!
    Gary F.

One of my newest obsessions in the Sage Mule's take on the McGriddle...truly with the trip. The combination of sweet and savory was spot on. The pancake is light and fluffy, the sausage had a nice sage flavor, the egg was fried well and not burnt and the syrup provided just the right level of sweetness. This sandwich combined with a well made cortado made for what I think of as a perfect breakfast...not to mention the great team, the people watching, and just the great vibe. Greensboro folks, give it a try!

We came here on a Saturday morning after enjoying a work Christmas party the day before. We started with the loaded potato soup and it was good. You definitely taste potato but it's really good with the bacon and cheese. The bulgogi hash was delicious and greasy. The potato's were cut to the perfect size and the ground beef chunks were delightfully delicious. The mule burger was really good. The smash patties were the perfect size so the bun coverage was great and the carmelized onions with the pickles and cheese was so good all in one bite. I only had a couple bites of the cornbread with the butter but it was really good. The hash was so much good that I saved half for the next morning and remade it at home on the stove. The service was a perfectly respectable pace and the waiters were nice.

The establishment was beautiful inside they offered indoor and outdoor seating. The staff members are quite friendly they had a variety of desserts when you first entered as well as free Wi-Fi for patrons. The indoor as well as outdoor seating was wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately only one bathroom was available so there was quite a long line. There are vegan options on the menu and they note that any item can be replaced with a few vegan alternatives. I opted for a impossible burger with no cheese or the sauce provided as it contains mayo. It was good and I have to say the pickles were great touch the fries were absolutely crispy. This was a great vegan option however I wish that they would add more vegan egg and cheese alternatives to the menu. The biscuit although not vegan for my family who consume the biscuits noted that they were absolutely delicious

The vibe inside gives off quiet workspace/library, and definitely gives off the lobby of an Inn (think Gilmore Girls.) There was some people scattered around but I didn't take a deep look inside since I was just passing by. I ordered my ice vanilla latte. The first thing I remember realizing was that it wasn't very sweet. Which is not a bad thing, sometimes they can be made really sweet other times they can be not so sweet. This latte was in the middle. I could taste the creaminess from the oat milk too. I would definitely check this place out again and try out some of their other drinks that they offer. I would even like to stay in and work inside and see more of the environment inside.

Nowhere nearby have I found authentic Italian baked goods except for a former co-worker, whose Sicilian mother once made us delicious wine biscuits and pignoli cookies. That's what I was hoping to find today - along with biscotti, cannoli, etc. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I got the pistachio lobster tail and a mixed box of cookies. The lobster tail was basically a crispy croissant filled with pastry cream that had no discernible pistachio flavor. Tasty but definitely more of a French pastry. The cookies were all supposedly different flavors but I couldn't tell them apart. They were a basic shortbread dyed different colors, had gummy, flavorless fillings and tasted old. There was 1 biscotti in the box and I'm sorry to say that my not at all Italian mom has made better biscotti. Definitely very pricey considering the quality. It makes me sad that there is still nowhere to get good Italian pastries here.

My partner visited Black Magnolia last week after her massage at Green Leaf Wellness center and raved about her cinnamon roll, so I decided to treat myself to one as well and it did not disappoint. I found the Patisserie straight away as I passed it on the way to my massage, but the signage on the curb helps since some businesses in Revolution Mills can be quite difficult to find. The storefront itself is quite small, consisting of a standing room and the glass case of baked goods, but there is seating outside and around the establishment. The staff was attentive, briefing me on all the cinnamon rolls they currently had and letting me know that there were some baking that would be available a bit later. Each roll looked decadent with flavors ranging from lemon blueberry, s'mores, and classic. There were also scones and other baked goods available as well, but I had my heart set on the Classic Cinnamon Roll. I bit into this beauty on my way home and it was the softest and most delicious cinnamon roll I have ever had! Baked with brioche dough and topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, the pillowy texture and flavors were so comforting and satisfying.
