We made a reservation to have our anniversary dinner here, we parked at the Japantown garage and it was an easy 5 minute walk. We chose to get the 5 course so that we could try a larger variety of dishes, we were worried that it wouldn't be enough food, but it was more than enough especially with the sides that came with the main dishes. My favorite dishes were the sturgeon dip, the milk bread rolls, the lamb, the shepards pie that came as a side, and the hazelnut banana dessert. I found the pasta dishes, especially the one in the broth, to be a bit too salty. I did enjoy the variety of dishes and the flavors overall. I think this is a great place for a Michelin star meal that won't break the bank, I would come back for another occasion to try their evolving menu.

7 Adams is one of those restaurants I've been wanting to try for quite a while and I'm so excited that I finally got to try ! Service was attentive and everyone was so sweet. They explained every single dish you're about to receive. Opted for the 5 course menu. Menu does rotate seasonally! Keep it in mind. Every bite was a surprise, a delight and worth every bit of savoring. My favorite was definitely their own take of shepherd's pie! Delicious, a truly fun dinner to experience. Ambiance is moody & romantic- very cozy I will say which can be a downside to some (I was overheating like crazy but I think that's more of a me problem) Definitely a must try at least once!

I came here for my anniversary and I was really excited to eat here because I heard a lot of positive things about this place. My boyfriend made a reservation 3 weeks in advanced. The inside is cozy and a bit dimly lit. The service was really standout because of the friendly and attentive service. My boyfriend and I got the seasonal 5 course pre-fixe menu. This was about $87 per person. The amouse bouche was a Japanese milk bread. The bread was an absolute winner in my book because it was fluffy and just had a nice taste. The butter was really smooth and went well with the bread. The first course was a crudo. The fish tasted really fresh and I was content with how it tasted. I also got the Monterey squid which was an extra $7. The squid was cooked well and didn't have a tough texture. I think the real let down was the rice because it was too mushy for my preference. I liked the flavors all together and it tasted refreshing. For the main course, I had the trout. I liked how the skin was crispy and I thought the portion size was nice. The bone broth was a bit too salty and this overpowered the taste of the fish. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention how small the lamb course was in comparison to the portion size of my course (see picture). I love tiramisu so naturally that's what I had for dessert. It had a pleasant coffee taste that was balanced out by the chocolate. It wasn't too sweet. When you consider that this place has a Michelin star, I think that the 5 course pre-fixe menu is a great way to experience this kind of dining. I enjoyed the novelty of eating here, but I'm not sure I would come back due to the inconsistency with some of the courses. Every course had elements that I thought were really well done, but there was something a bit off within the dish that detracted a bit from my experience in each course. By far my favorite thing was the milk bread and if I could, I'd buy a whole loaf!

Friendly service and nice ambiance but was left wanting more standout flavors from a few dishes. Would give a 3.5 - smoked sturgeon dip: the crackers itself did not add to the dish - tasted like cardboard. Dip was watery, wished it had a better consistency - tagliatelle: had an acidity that was not balanced with any richness, didn't quite make sense - dry aged lamb: the accompanying blue corn grits was over salted. The lamb was tender and nicely cooked though! The brussel sprout puree and carrot was just one note against the jus, needed accompaniments that cut against the sauce. - sticky toffee cranberry : nicely done dessert! I enjoyed the variety of textures from the crunchy oat and the tartness of cranberry to cut the sweetness

I came here for a birthday dinner. The service was attentive and thoughtful, but not intrusive. They have two menus: one is a seven course menu which is not customizable and the other is a five course menu which is what we had. The first two courses were appetizers. One was a seafood dip served on a sesame chip, which was light and refreshing. The second course was crudo with citrus elements. The third course was pasta. We had the spinach ravioli and mini duck dumplings. All of the portions were small, but flavorful. The main course was lamb, very flavorful around the fatty parts. The center was slightly raw. The shepherd's pie was smooth and creamy, integrated with the flavor from the lamb sauce. Finally, we had a selection of their desserts. All were excellent finishes to the meal, refreshing and not too sweet.

Amazing chefs tasting for Valentines! Made reservations for this right when they opened at midnight and it was pretty easy. Leading up to the dinner, they sent several text reminders which is really nice. We came in and was greeted and seated really fast. Our server Nadia was amazing and nice. The tasting was amazing. We loved the little bites that opened up our appetite. The bread and butter was absolutely to die for especially since I am always a bread person. My favorite dishes were the Orzo, and Ribeye. The oysters were Deff a nice bite as well. Overall, loved everything about this place.

My friend made a dinner reservation on a weekday at 7 Adams for a 5 course meal since I was visiting Bay Area after 3 years. We had amazing time - the place is busy but not too loud and great ambiance. Our server was very nice and suggested some recommendations for us to avoid certain foods. I was quite full after going through all 5 courses. Everything I ate was just awesome with great blend of flavors and textures.

A superb experience! The food is nothing short of excellent, each dish wowed us. Each member of the waitstaff was so attentive and kind. The restaurant itself has impressive architecture and decor. This restaurant is a true experience and I feel lucky that we got to try it!

A wonderful tasting menu experience! And bonus that it's a more affordable option compared to other tasting menu options in the city. Service and ambiance were great. We made a reservation only a few days beforehand but it was smooth. We were sat in the back area, which seemed to be an enclosed patio. I liked it, it felt warm and intimate. There were some chilly drafts coming through, but there were heaters nearby and some blankets available for extra warmth if needed. We opted for the 5 course menu. I felt that it was enough to be satisfied fully. Since I was with my partner, we both got different options for dishes when it was available since we could try the other's plate. For the food, I thought it was overall lovely. Some dishes stood out more than others. I know people rave about the milk bread, but I actually thought was just okay - it had a little too much salt topping on it and we had to shake off the excess salt. But the butter was a perfect temperature and spread for the bread. I didn't think the sturgeon dip was too noteworthy. It was a nice opener though. The haramisa was so interesting! Appreciated the intrigue with this dish. My partner got the duck confit pasta option, which was an optional upgrade. It was worth it though because that was easily one of the best dishes- the consommé was so rich and smooth. My favorite dish was the seared black cod. The top was wonderfully crunchy and the fish meat was a great flavor. It had a side of a squash(?) in orange foam, which was a little interesting to me - I don't think that added much to the dish and probably would be fine without it. The menu ended with delicious desserts, which was nice! I usually don't expect good desserts for these experiences so I was pleasantly surprised. The ice cream in the desserts were a nice topping to the overall experience. I would definitely recommend trying the 5 course menu out, especially if you like tasting menus but don't want to break the bank. I will note that the taxes and fees at the end add up - the sf mandate fee was kind of random and took us by surprise. Would have appreciated some clarify on what that fee entailed. I hope that fee goes directly to the workers.

Ambiance and loud and bustling inside - and a bit cramped too. Sitting at the chefs counter, you're basically almost elbow to elbow with the people next to you. Highlights: - Bread: Super soft, delicious japanese milk bread - Black Cod: Skin was still nice and crispy while not too hard to break. Cod cooked almost perfectly: very flaky. Good flavor with the sea urchin foam. - Orange and Bay Leaf: Good contrast of flavors and textures. Misses: - Buffalo Wing: Really not a fan, the buffalo sauce was too overpowering

valentine's day dinner It was the perfect spot to celebrate, from the vibes to the food. I think their valentine's menu is a little different from their usual one, but it was a 6-course tasting focused on seafood and seasonal californian ingredients my favorite was the ribeye with bone marrow wine sauce, plus the braised lamb shoulder croquette on the side. Genuinely one of the nicest pieces of meat I've had. I also loved the saffron dough orzo with prawn. It was super umami with the perfect chewy texture. we literally ate that course so slowly because we didn't want it to end. Other standouts: the feuille de brick (venison tartare wrapped in malsouka), the milk bread, and the well balanced dessert and they sent us home with homemade pear & chocolate scones, which i ate for breakfast the next day and they were so good

Had an incredible dinner here with my mom the other night! We got the 5 course meal - which was a great choice because we left so surprisingly full! The 7 course would've been too much. Highlights included the pasta dishes (we tried both of the first 2 choices) - the pasta was perfectly cooked and both had a great combination of flavors and textures. Everything was so perfectly balanced between soft and crunchy, sweet and savory. The desserts were also INCREDIBLE. I am not usually a fan of mint and chocolate together but the way those flavors came together in the dessert blew my mind. You had to get a little of everything on the spoon for the perfect bite. They'll give you 2 servings of their house milk bread as well which is great with the smaller first 2 courses. For $87, this is one of the best tasting menu deals in SF for the quality and innovation. Would highly recommend for a special occasion! We did have to wait an additional 15 mins past our reservation time, but they have heaters outside so it's not too bad.

Definitely make a reservation online as it can get busy! We visited for a birthday dinner and were seated on the patio area - it basically feels like you're outside since it's paved, walled, and covered but had a nice romantic ambiance for a date. The service was amazing, everything came out at a nice pace and we were never lacking! They have a 5 or 7 course menu. We opted for the 5 and were full after! There are a few options to choose from within the set menu so it was fun to swap and get to try everything. We really loved the fish as well as the lamb (best lamb we've ever had). It was really great how the entrees also came with little sides, so the dishes felt complex and exciting. Will return to try the 7 course sometime!

    Can they accommodate a wheelchair?

I believe so. It's all flat. The walkway is narrow but I think it should be ok. You have to make a reservation anyway and you should probably let them know so they can put you somewhere more comfortable.

What vegetarian or vegan options are there?

Our standard 5-course menu can accommodate most allergies and restrictions, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc. We cannot accommodate a vegan menu at this time, and our Chef's Counter tasting menu cannot accommodate any dietary… Read more

Are there parking garages nearby, and easily to find? My parents are older and I hope it would not be a far walk for them, thank you.

Japantown garage is one block away at Post and Fillmore.

How to make a dinner reservation?

Reservations are on Resy linked at their website.

Is it baby friendly? A mom wants to dine here with some friends who love being around this baby. She's 1 year old and super chill, loves eating and doesn't cry.

First of all, it is NOT a Michelin star restaurant. And it will not become one for a long time. But I agree, better not bring babies. The space is tight and it is quite noisy.

Is the outdoor seating dog friendly?

I would not bring a non-service animal as you must traverse the entire dining room and kitchen.

Do they only have outdoor seating? Any indoor options?

We offer both indoor and outdoor dining options. When making a reservation the time slots are highlighted with the dining areas we currently have available. We open reservations on a rolling 28 day schedule.

We were told 10/15 minutes for a table. Took 50 minutes - nearly an hour! We totally should have gone somewhere else but alas we eventually were seated. I got pasta and also and some of the pinsa (Roman style pizza). Also had the meatballs. Everything was just so so. The pizza almost tasted stale - someone mentioned it is supposed to be like that but I've had pinsa a few times and that was not my experience. The pasta was pretty good - a red sauce. Nothing special. Meatballs also solid. Somehow my pasta came up 12-15 mins after everything else's food which was entirely confusing but oh well. The wine was good. Overall a cute little wine bar in CV, would def come back but nothing to write home about.
