Charming ambiance and happy to check out the menu. With the exception of one table and not knowing if there was anyone outside, it was just us. A couple of parties walked in to get coffee, then left. The food was great for lunch, however, the wait was too long for a place on Haight during lunch time. Either service was slow or the kitchen. Hard to tell. If you ready other reviews, someone had feedback about their French onion soup. Low rating from that person. I wouldn't say it's a miss, but I would recommend going here when you're not in a hurry. read more

It was such a great time I forgot to take photos of my meal! A bright and beautiful space with lots of vegetarian brunch choices! I went with the brioche French toast and the avocado scramble. great pricing and service. I will say, one thing I loved was that each serving was perfect for one person - no more, no less! Sometimes brunch places pack your plate so much and it caused a lot of waste. Lots of nice drink options too the oat latte was great! Will be back! read more

Patio is cute. Had the brisket breakfast burrito which had brisket, eggs, fries with a small side of salad. It was okay. I expected it to be better and have more substance. It felt like it would elevate better with salsa and avocado. It's a bit overprice for what it is. The place itself is nice and I see the appeal to get other breakfast dishes and coffee. It's a good spot to catch up with friends. read more

Nice small Cafe which serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It alsonhas coffee and limited pastries. It has bar seating and serve beer and wine. It has second level seating with high table. We stop by to get mocha and cold strawberry drink. Both are good. Strawberry drink is a bit too sweet for me. Pricewise it is reasonable . Next time will try the dishes. They looks yummy. read more

Good sized portion of Niçoise salad, the potatos were really good! Kind of confused because the salad was drenched and swimming in mayo I think? I was not aware that would by the case. It was good but I needed less mayo or sauce in it. Def get potatos and omelette which is what my friend got. read more

I got the French onion soup and gees, that was inferior to any French onion soup I've ever had. I was surprised when it came out 2 minutes after I ordered it but soon saw why - they didn't bake the cheese in top. Instead it was very oily soup with a ton of shredded cheese in top. The toast on the side was good. I ate all of that. But I'm a lady who can eat and I didn't even finish half the soup because it really put me off. I tried to spoon out the cheese and just enjoy the soup but it was oily and didn't taste good. Cute place, nice French music playing, but don't order the French onion soup. read more

A group of coworkers and I stopped by for some early dinner. We were able to sit in the back patio for our meal. It was nice and open and it was quite busy for 4:50pm. We didn't think there would be a lot of people because it's quite early for dinner. But, the back patio was pretty packed during that time. The fries we ordered for the table came first, but even then it too about 25 minutes for our food to come. That isn't terrible timing but it is when half the group was a bit hangry. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich ($13) with the side salad. You can choose between a side salad or potato chips. Since we had some fries for the table to start, I opted for the salad. The fries we had were crispy, thin and came with a chipotle mayo like sauce. The order was really made for maybe 2 people, so if you love fries, definitely order more than 1. The side salad was quite delicious. The dressing they use for their baby green side salad was so fresh and went really well with the sandwich. The lemon thyme chicken was seasoned well and the fresh veggies and avocado paired nicely. The French roll was soft, though I kind of wished they toasted the bread so that were was some crisp/different texture in the sandwich. What's great about it this place is the whole menu is served all day, 8am to 8pm. The server was very attentive, the space was open and airy and the food was great and affordable. I'd definitely recommend this place for medium size groups especially since it was an affordable price for all! read more

Been here a couple of times, great little spot for brunch food, sandwiches and salads. Their patio out the back is charming and relaxing. Definitely a nice break in the sunshine. Brunch is served here all day. If you dig breakfast burritos, this is the spot to be at. I ordered their grilled chicken sandwich which came with avocado served on crusty bread. You can get a side of either mixed greens or chips. I found the chicken to be a bit on the drier side than I would have liked, but the amount was plentiful. Delicious brunch spot in the middle of the haight. The perfect spot to stop by at while window shopping, or even if you're just looking for something good to eat. The strawberry mimosa was perfect, and wasn't too badly priced! Brioche French Toast was good, but the price was a bit much for the portion they give you. Smoked Salmon Tartine was delicious, and honestly all tartines sound worth it and appealing as they are decently priced and is very filling. Avocado scramble was simple and perfect! Stop by if you're in the area for sure, as the staff are the kind and the ambiance is pretty. They even have an outdoor area where you can bring pets. Good value! Super reasonable prices and loved the quaint outdoor seating area. I ordered the brisket sandwich (seemed to be one of the less popular items, but thought I'd contribute a data point to Yelp :)). Healthy serving of brisket and definitely hit the spot of a more heavy brunch. Brisket was perfectly seasoned & tender, and the baguette was crunchy (though, some bites felt like more bread than meat). The aioli sauce also helped change up the flavor profile of some bites of the sandwich, and I liked dipping the fries in there as well. I definitely wish there were some more greens in the sandwich, since it was a bit lackluster Would be interested to try the brisket burger next time, which seems like the more popular item read more

The food here is delicious! I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was flavorful and the bread was so soft. While the food was very good, the service was subpar and kind of strange? When we walked in, my friend and I were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We said inside. I was expecting them to take us to a table but instead we were awkwardly handed the menus, left to choose our own seat. No problem about this but it felt weird! After we ordered, our waiter came back to us 5 min afterwards to double check our order, only for them to get it wrong. Also, the food took an insane amount of time to come out despite there being few people there. Waiters were literally standing around, not busy. If you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. I think if you're there to meet and catch up with a friend, you can use the long wait for your food as a chance to chat it up! But if you're hungry and want a quick and smooth experience, this is not the place. read more

Doing this review based on a Grub Hub delivery I received today from Brioche Bakery & Cafe. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad and I was BLOWN AWAY - WOW! I haven't ordered a restaurant salad this great-tasting in YEARS! I wasn't sure what to expect I just wanted to eat a bit healthier than my eating over the past weekend, and felt like a salad might be a good idea. This salad was not only beautiful, the dressing just was SO TASTY! It kind of tastes like Roti sauce, or a subtly sweet yellow Thai curry. You NEED to try this salad! Great price for a great variety of brunch and lunch foods! Came at noon on a Saturday and got seated right away. There's seating inside and in the back patio. We ordered the quiche and the brioche French toast to share. The quiche with ham was so delicious, the puff pastry crust made it crunchy and flakey and the egg was cooked so well!! It was very filling so I'm glad my friend and I ordered to share. The brioche french toast was not as fluffy as I expected it to be, a lot denser than what I anticipated and kind of small as well. I ordered the spinach and Gruyère omelette for myself and it was packed with spinach and Gruyère which made it super good value. The potatoes that came with it were denser than other brunch place potatoes I had, but still good when dipped with ketchup. We went there for Brunch. Ordered vegetarian food, they have plenty of options. The veggie burrito was tasty, eggs felt just right. We tried their beet salad - was perhaps the most delicious dish we tasted. Coffee was served in good quantity, could have been hotter. There's plenty of seating inside, well lit, was easy to hear each other as well. Everything was served swiftly, felt like an efficient operation. Finding parking around that area can be tough, so give yourself enough time. read more

Did we do something wrong? My partner and I came here for brunch on Saturday, September 7th. We walked in and were handed orders but were not told where to sit. I asked, "Do we go to the patio?" because the group in front of us had been told to do so. The woman rudely just said "yeah." We sat at a table in the back of the patio next to where it's closed off. We were given waters and then just... ignored. For almost 30 minutes we sat there ready to order and the waiter ignored us. Finally, we managed to flag someone down to order. After we got our food, nobody checked on us to see if it was good or if we needed anything else. We actually needed another plate because we were sharing. Obviously, we didn't get one. If you're gonna offer brunch in SF, you have to do it right! Unfortunately, Brioche was a miss for me. Please hire more people...or seat fewer! While this is a deceptively huge spot, Brioche was WAY understaffed at its busiest time. This led to our order not being put in with the kitchen, and us waiting over an hour for our food. The Eggs Benedict Florentine was pretty good, and the prices are reasonable, but the disorganized service left much to be desired. read more

Came here while staying with my cousin and off the bat the vibes were really cute! The space is not too big so we had to wait a while for people to leave before we were seated. Our server was nice however he kept forgetting to bring things to the table like water and at one point my entire meal :( I really enjoyed the California Omelette and French onion soup! I also ordered a strawberry lemonade but it was very thick for some reason I'm assuming it was due to the syrup they used. Overall it was a nice place however the service was not that great. I just went here to eat today and I ordered an eggs Benedict. As I was eating it I was thinking to my self "omg this is amazing I have to leave a review" the eggs Benedict was by far the BEST one I have ever ate so far. My favorite place in the Haight Ashbury area. Their prosciutto tartine is so flavorful thanks to the mix of fruit and salty prosciutto and has become my go to item. The people there are very kind. They also have a cozy outdoor area in the back thats kept warm by large space heaters. I bring friends here every time I'm asked to be a guide in SF. No complaints each time. read more

My friend only ordered bacon and eggs, which both came out burnt. I had the eggs benedict. Half way through eating it, I found an entire egg shell in it. I went to the front to get a refund for the benedict and while I was gone, someone walked up to my friends and asked them to leave a 5 star review. I don't think anything at this bakery is made in house. I've had better drinks at my office's free cafe, and better croissants from costco, this is a pretty nice vibe, which is where the star originates from, but i would skip the menu entirely if i could read more

I stopped in after doing some shopping on Haight Street. The cafe is super cute, there's a backyard patio with a decent amount of tables and with some heat lamps. I got the grilled chicken sandwich was super good. It came on a ciabbata bread and had a good amount of chicken and avocado. read more

The menu is quite short, but it's a nice little nook in a bustling area. It's not small, but the restaurant front leads to a really pretty enclosed garden area in the back (ps. choose to be seated outside!). There's flowers and it's very cafe floral aesthetic! Food is pretty good. I was so hungry I inhaled half of the burrito before realizing it could have more salt/pepper, which you do get at the table. Sriracha would be nice to have to on the side too. In this area of SF, there is hardly any parking available. But there are lots of thrift stores nearby !! read more

I called a couple of hours beforehand and made a same day reservation for three at 8 p.m. I was amazed they could get us in. The guy who answered the phone was so nice. We arrived right at 8 and were seated on the back patio. Our server took a little while to greet us, but by about 8:15 she showed up and we immediately ordered our salad and entrees. The heirloom tomato salad came out around 8:30 and was great in concept, though a few more pieces of cheese would have made a big difference. Our entrees, two salmon dishes and a medium-rare steak, came out around 9 p.m. We had waited a little too long, especially since the restaurant was not very full at that point. My steak was overdone, so as politely as possible, I sent it back. The server said it wouldn't take long, so I assumed 15 minutes at most. By 9:20, the steak still had not arrived and my family had finished eating. The server came by and said it would be out in another couple of minutes. Another 10 minutes passed, and there was still no steak and no sign of the server. At 9:30, I was so frustrated that I got up to cancel it. I found the server standing near the kitchen talking with other servers, while my steak was just sitting there in the service window. I'm sorry, but I did not come to a restaurant at 8 p.m. to eat my entree at 9:30 or later, after everyone else had already finished. What made it worse was that the server was not apologetic at all. We also ran out of water multiple times throughout the evening. Overall, it felt like the staff, other than the host, just didn't care. Neither the kitchen nor the server. I don't know if it's the no-tip model, but it definitely felt like an authentic European zero-customer-service type of experience. I'm really disappointed, Zazie. I know you can do better.

I ordered the night market (song cai dry gin, cucumber lemongrass shrub, lemon lime and Thai chili. It was light with a mix of sweet and tart, perfect for the warm day. The back patio was gorgeous it was heartening to see the place so lively given the rough year it's been with COVID. You could also tell this was a spot frequented by locals. We ordered a pitcher of Hazy IPA and 2 tomato Basil empanadas. We were impressed with the reasonable drink prices and selection and loved the free chips and salsa provided to the table. When the empanadas came out they were hot, cheesy and delicious too. I love the cheery environment of Finnegan's Wake and we had an excellent time. I will certainly be back and home to some day become part of the local crowd :)

One thing that I don't appreciate is that the attitude and service at this place is consistently indifferent, unpolite, and often startlingly rude. I've had service from multiple bartenders here and a sour disposition towards customers seems to be a job requirement here. I want to like this place but the rough attitude of the service staff here is decidedly off-putting.
