We weren't sure if it would be packed, but luckily our plans ended early and they had an early seating. Quick service, and the place somehow looked bigger and brighter. We had high expectations for Cha Cha Cha because of its reputation for good Cuban food. The service was great, and the servers were friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was very busy. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. We ordered the seafood paella and jerk chicken with rice. The chicken was much too salty, while the rice was mushy and bland, almost as though it had absorbed too much liquid. The paella was also bland overall, and the Spanish rice lacked flavor. We're normally done scavenging for the good stuff in a minute between the four of us , but we even had leftovers tonight which was awesome. We also really enjoyed the plantain appetizer, the plantains were cooked, so tender and sweet, but also had these nice crisp edges. Also loved the black bean puree it came with. Also ordered the cheese quesadillas which were awesome. The cheese tasted so good, I assume it was Oaxacan cheese, it didn't taste like a plain mozzarella quesadilla Warm spinach salad was surprisingly tasty as well ! A staple that guarantees a meal full of flavor. My table got arroz con pollo, ropa vieja and tres leches. The star of the night was the tres leches, it had some type of guava sauce that takes it to the next level. We were excited about happy hour. we came in a little after 5pm, Its until 6pm. I highly recommend this place to folks visiting the Haight Ashbury area! Caribbean places can be hard to find and this one is great. The arroz con pollo is a classic favorite. The chicken is succulent and the olives add a nice pop. Save room for dessert...which should definitely include the sweet, slightly crispy on the outside plátanos maduro, if nothing else...though the chocolate mousse, bread pudding and tres leches were all good! (I'd say that was my order of preference for desserts, even though chocolate may be less common.) The sangria is "famous," and, honestly, it is a very nice one! They serve your food in plastic bowls instead of proper dishes--the only glassware they use is for the tiny appetizer plates. Honestly, it felt like we were eating out of dog bowls. To make matters worse, they tried to seat us in their outdoor area on the side of the building, which had poor service and no restroom access. If you need to use the restroom, you have to walk all the way back through the restaurant and around the bar to reach the dirty, disgusting bathrooms. I will absolutely never be returning. read more

Heard a lot of good things about this place so i decided to check it out for with two other friends after a long walk around Golden Gate Park for Saturday lunch and we were sat immediately. We got the Cajun shrimp, jerk chicken, chicken wings, and guacamole and chips to share. The shrimp is so creamy and rich and has a spicy kick. We even asked for extra bread just so we could get all sauce with the bread. The jerk chicken is hands down the best I've had. Absolute flavor bomb. The chicken wings are tossed in this finger licking guava chili sauce. The guac and chips are not as memorable in comparison to the main dishes and maybe we should've gotten the plantain as a side. All the portions are massive and everything's reasonably priced so we ended up feeling super full. The service is fast and friendly. The only thing is we didn't get our water refill that often. The interior has a vibrant and colorful vibe and we came during the 60th Grateful Dead concert weekend so all the other customers also dressed in a funky and colorful way which added to the fun vibes. Fun little spot in the Haight! A friend and I had no plans other than to walk through GGP and we stumbled into Cha Cha Cha for dinner because their HH menu caught our eye. To order from HH, you have to sit at the bar area. HH menu has a decent amount of options and the food is good as well. We ordered wings, tacos, and the tater tot nachos. My friend ordered a drink off the HH menu too and it was pretty strong (how we like it, duh!) Service here was friendly. The buttery, rich sauce is absolutely to die for and I drown the unlimited bread in it every single time. The jerk chicken was probably my second favorite item we ordered, it was very different from other variations of jerk chicken I've had, and I loved their unique take. This one was sweeter and the sauce was a bit thicker and chunkier. The yucca con mojo was the star of the lechon dish, I couldn't believe how much I liked it. It was tender and seasoned very well.
