Locked myself out, called 7 Day Locksmith. Gentleman on the phone wouldn't give me the price, said they had to look at the lock first. Technician Tony G came, first thing I asked was the price, he said he needed to look first. After "looking" he asked for $300 to open a pretty basic lock. I got a bad vibe from the whole experience and felt my situation wasn't that dire, so I refused. He charged me $69.99 cancelation fee, plus $3.5 credit card fee. Would like to share my "HORRIBLE/NIGHTMARE experience with this 7 day locksmith company! HOPEFULLY, I can prevent them from ripping off another potential customers! Just recently to be exact... on 5/13/24 around 1:30pm. I called this company(through my neighbors recommendation), to check my double door front door deadbolt lock got stuck and I'm unable to open my front door. I have an Emtek brand door knobs set. Luckily, I have other doors in the house that I can get in/out. I called this company @ (858) 522-9722... I was told that a technician will call me back right away to come to my house. Got a call back from a guy named, Abraham and gave me an ETA of about 20 mins. I have asked Abraham in advance how much would it cost me approximately... he said just to come to my house is $29+ and depending on what needs to be done. After about 45 mins, Abraham(a young guy in his probably late 20's or early 30's) showed up at my house. I already removed the inside door plate/screws and everything so he can easily visualize the problem. I even have screw drivers, drills available within reach. Abraham came on his own blue sedan car(no company logos). He said he came from La Mesa, Ca and he works for the "American Services Locksmith"). I asked him before hand that if the deadbolt cylinder inside the door is broken and needs to be special order.... There is no reason to unlock my stuck door at this time and I've asked him what are my options? Abraham grabbed one of my Phillips flat screwdriver and stick it inside the deadbolt cylinder and told me that it needs to be replaced and ordered. He also stated, "it would cost $200 to unlock the door now, but if u pay using Venmo... it would be just $120 and I can help you order the cylinder inside and when I come back to install the parts, I will deduct the $120 from the total cost of the parts & labor which would roughly close to $700.". I said, WOW! Why so expensive?! Abraham just shrugged his shoulder and had a big smile on his face and said that's the way it is! I asked him to order the parts for me and to call me back sometime that week to give me an update and he agreed. He made a quick phone call to his so called BOSS(named: Gil Harati) so I can venmo $120 to his account. I asked for a receipt, but he said he will provide when he comes back. So I sent $120 venmo to his Boss( bad moved on my part) and I indicated under the comment that this is a partial Payment for a front door that needs a part to be ordered and installation will be done as promised as soon as the parts arrived. My door of course is still stuck and unable to open. 2 days went by... didn't hear from Abraham.. so I called his cell number at (619) 629-1456 and he sounded surprised that I called him and he said he will order it now and will call me back. Never heard from him after another 2 days. So I called the "7 day Locksmith" same number I called at (858) 522-9722 and spoke to Luis to notify them of what happened. Luis said he will Escalate to the manager and wrote an incident report about it and instructed me that someone will call me. No one called! I called again after 2 days and this time spoke to David, was promised same thing! No one called. I called again for the 3rd time and spoke to a lady and promised the same thing, no body called me back! In other words, I GOT RIPPED OFF! 1st lesson learned.... Always pay with your credit card and not venmo so u can contest the charge and get a refund! Second, take your time searching for a reputable locksmith company before calling and NEVER EVER use this "7 day Locksmith" company serving San Diego area because I just found out that that number they provided (858)522-9722 on google website is like a call center/dispatch center only that contracts several locksmith company, so BAD NEWS for San Diegans!!! Luckily, San Diego Hardware store came to the rescue and helped me order the broken door cylinder from EMTEK and the BEST part is.... It's covered under warranty by EMTEK( located in Orange County)! They sent the parts free shipping and everything in 2 days! GOD is Good! Although, I lost $120... my friend's husband came to unlock and install the new cylinder in less than 20 mins for FREE! I live out of state and bought a property where I needed a smart locks installed so I could control it virtually. I'm not sure this is still a real company. I called the number and reached a different person claiming to represent a something called TG locksmiths. He claimed no affiliation with 7 day locksmiths, nor the website that I got the number from (7daylocksmiths.com) the address is listed alternately as 4410 Glacier Ave or as 4343 Nobel Drive, but when I called the guy said he has no physical address, and no connection to either of those two addresses. When I asked if he had any references or if he licensed, he hung up on me. I would not trust this service without any clarity about who is providing and from where. If anyone has information about a true and trustworthy company or individual that stands behind this site, I would be glad to see it posted. read more

Wow just wow! Me and my flatmates (college students) were in need of a lock change on all 4 of our doors. Never accept a vague statement on costs, demand a business card with a full name and business license as required by the state of California and an estimate IN WRITING ! If the locksmith can't do this and has a "burner" phone look elsewhere! I never considered a locksmith as being untrustworthy before but props to 7 Day in supporting the consumer. Imagine not getting a quote and being hit with a $500 or $700 bill with no itemized explanation on costs. ( insurance won't reimburse either without a detailed receipt with ordinary and customary charges for the region) Any tradesman, contractor, is required to be registered with the state contractors board. You can report violations to the California State Contractors Board or your Attorney General fraud division , don't pay if you didn't agree, particularly for $500 or more and a failure to provide a written estimate is a bar to collection read more

Found this company through yelp I have a business in Santee , just want to share my experience with this company. I have this commercial lock panic bar on one of my doors installed by a different company ! few months ago, back then it's seems like they did a good job but last week the mechanism got stuck Called them back they didn't answer , so I called 7 days locksmith . Locked our Rental car key in the trunk of our Hyndai Sonata with our luggage - golf covers etc so unless we found a way to get this thing open flights were to be missed. 1st off we called AAA who could open the doors but not the trunk and he was a pretty sharp guy. We called Rental car company who said would take 24 to 48 hours to have Key Fab coded so we were out of luck there. We tried every video on You Tube that would indicate the easiest way in, but to no avail. Finally picked up the phone explained our situation to the guy on the phone and he said if we can't open it you don't pay. "THIS IS WHAT WE DO RELAX" with time getting short the locksmith arrived in less than 20 minutes.. won't tell you how he did it but he knew exactly what to do and how to do it and less than 10 minutes later we were on our way to the airport and home which would not have been possible without 7 Day. I lost my mailbox key and used this company as they gave me the best price quote online. The lady I spoke with said that is was $29 for the service call and $35-$45 for the lock, giving me a total quote of $65-$75. Upon arrival, the locksmith said that I had a "special" security mailbox and that he didn't even know how long it would take him to get the existing lock out. Because of this, he quoted me $161, which I refused because of what I was told by the dispatcher. He said that she didn't know what she was talking about and must have been mistaken when quoting. He then brought the price down to $120. I only agreed because he said that it was going to take him a long time to replace, and frankly I was in a bind. 3 minutes later, he says that he is done! I asked him why it was so fast and he said because he is " a professional." I called the office to discuss as I felt like I just got sold a lemon from a 3rd party car dealership. She promptly put me on hold and never came back to the line. I tried calling a few more times and no one answered. Beware! On the phone I was quote $44 to change my lock plus a $19 service fee. When the guy came out he was very nice got to work quickly. The next thing I know, another guy is there and he says I called him and that I'm stealing service and that I need to pay him a $19 service charge. I threaten to call police and he leaves. The guy finishes the work and gives me a bill of $549!!!!! FIVE HUNDRED FORTY NINE DOLLARS! Because I have some SPECIAL lock that he had to go get and put in. He calls his boss who goes back and forth on the phone with my partner, and then we decide to pay $70 for him to put old lock back in and leave us alone. This place is a scam. They don't have a storefront business that is open. Despite them saying open 24 hours, walk-ins welcome, they make you use their mobile service that will charge you $30 to come to your home, whether or not they can fix anything. But they won't tell you this upfront, so be sure you ask and don't hand over your credit card until they have done the work to your satisfaction. This locksmith really sucks. The tech Ben came out and said it would be about $550 to replace the broken lock in my truck where someone tried to steal it. He went and got a new lock cylinder and installed it. Truck won't start. Says that he can't program it because the chip reader part is broken. Tells me if I get that fixed he will come back and program it for free. Charges me $690 . I called him and said the truck was ready for him to come back. It took 3 days to get him to come back. I usually don't write bad reviews, but I feel obligated to do it at this time. I hired the company to fix a broken lock on our front door. The service was performed in June, 2016. Liad came, and found out that the lock must be change. It wasn't fixable. He installed a dead lock that the door didn't have before. While drilling a hole for a deadlock, he didn't do it correctly, and the door was basically ruined. I told Liad about my concern from the very beginning. I paid $1200 by personal check for installing new lock. The matter of fact is that I am not familiar with this kind of work, and I didn't know the cost of it. So this is other issue, and the service performed shouldn't cost so much, as I found out by asking other people who are installing door locks. I was trying to contact the company regarding refund for the job performed because I was told that in best case scenario the hole might be fixed, or otherwise the entire door needs to be replaced. I was contacting them by emails, Facebook messages, and certified mail. This company DOESN'T HAVE real mailing address. The address that is provided on all their documents and media as 3320 Caminito Eastbluff #135 is a residential address, and a person who lives there has no connection with the company. After few attempts of contacting them, I informed the company over email that I am taking them to a small court. Only after this I received email from somebody who didn't even sign his/her name but CC it to 3 other people from the company, saying that they didn't make that ugly hole, and that we did it ourselves. I hired a service that serves small court papers to a defendant, but it was impossible to do because we couldn't find the company address. I feel very bad about all this situation, but I decided that at least I got a good lesson from all this: never pay for any services by a check, and only by credit card, because in this case credit card services word be dealing with that company. So my advice to everybody would be: be very cautious when hiring 7 day locksmith for any major services, because if something is not going on right, you will never be able to correct this. read more

Quite the experience with this company today. Called out because our door handle to our restroom at our restaurant was coming apart. The guy came out, FaceTimed someone to get it apart, did not seem like he was a "locksmith". Anyway, he got the thing off which I was struggling with as it's a commercial handle and much more complex than a regular door handle. Preceded to tell me it was going to be $350 to replace. Nope. Then the boss, I can only assume told him to offer me $280. Still, for a door handle. Nope. He was there for all of about 10 minutes and charged me a service call fee of 60$ give or take a few bucks. I understand the service call I didn't mind paying it. I should've just taken some more time and done it myself. The main issue is I have yet to receive a receipt and have asked for it three times. Would not recommend based only on my one experience. I'm sure this was a one off, but the way everything went down it did not seem like this guy was any more qualified in what he was doing as I was.
