He used to serve me at Rita's across the street, and he's one of those rare lights of a human you never forget -- not because of what they say, but because of how they make you feel. When he looked up and said, "How are you, my friend? I used to serve you at Rita's!" everything clicked. He remembers my name. He remembers my complicated daily order to the letter. He greets me with warmth every single time -- even when I walk in two minutes before closing. And unlike so many places these days, he never shows irritation or rushes me. He makes me feel valued. One night, I accidentally called 30 minutes after they had already closed -- and Farouk still answered the phone, cheerfully, by name, and took my order anyway. The parking right in front Café Jun can get pretty full, but there's plenty parking in the rest of the shopping center.
