So this is a standard 7-Eleven that has a better selection than some of the surrounding locations. That said the complaint that drags the review down comes from the customer service. Came in last night, 8/5 and had a weird interaction with the clerk. I came in and there were already a couple people in line. I immediately go to what I need, grab it and hope in line. As I get closer to the front the cashier says hey and it caught me off guard because in my own little world. I say hey back. I get chastised for not saying hey when I come in the store and asked how hard was that? It then goes into asking if I was angry at him for saying hi and he just goes on about that while he is working with a customer 2 people ahead in line. Doesn't say hi to the new people who came into the store. He finishes with that customer and then starts telling the customer ahead of me how he chased some thief who tried to steal from the store outside. The thief gets his head knocked on the ground and he puts the thief in an arm lock. The thief's girlfriend apparently had to jump in to get the clerk off the thief. Being polite is good customer service but if you take it personally and then chastise a customer you might need to relax. I remembered I had a similar weird interaction months ago and that's why I avoided this 7-Eleven. It's probably just me. When I'm running errands I'm doing other things in my head. Getting forced into an interaction where I'm hearing about some perceived slight isn't what I'm okay with from a quick transaction for candy. So I am never one to make a review at all, however I went to this location because it had been a awhile since I have been to 7-eleven and well I'll probably never go back. I was picking up breakfast and lunch for the day, the sub I got was warm-hotish when it should have been cold, around the corner the ice machine was leaking and leaving a puddle, I then went around the store to get a drink and it was warm, none of the refrigerators were on. As I'm checking out I figured I'd tell the clerk about the leak before I left and he gave attitude, "oh there should be one " brother I slipped myself just didn't fall. The cashier at this location was extremely rude. I walked in with two other women and immediately he asked "hello how are you?" to which I replied good. my two friends did not reply- so he said "and you two ladies?" they did not hear him, so I replied "they are doing good too." after shopping around and walking past him, he repeatedly stated "it's nice to have manners and be kind.." or something similar to that. we laughed awkwardly and kept looking around. when checking out, he stated again (for the second or third time) something along the lines of "it's nice to be polite, kind, ..." and I replied "we are nice and kind :)! And he proceeded to state that I frowned at him when we initially entered and that I essentially was not being nice/kind. although I was trying to be kind and polite when entering by replying to him in the beginning, this man does not seem to understand that he is not owed a response when he greets customers. Verbally harassing women that are waking around the store to answer you is not necessary whatsoever. we all got bad vibes from him when entering, and the experience was extremely uncomfortable and unwelcoming. so, I decided to look up the reviews on yelp and found multiple other people stated the same thing happened to them- almost the same story. seems like a woman hater to me. 0/10. read more

Came here to get some snacks while my partner was picking up sushi around the corner. Spent about 10 mins quietly gathering my things (I'm autistic and suffer from panic disorder and PTSD, so I keep to myself and I'm shy) usually businesses respect that. So I finish getting my snacks and go to the register and while paying the cashier asks if I want a bag, I say yes please, then this cashier has the audacity to say "just so you know people will think you're crazy if you don't make eye contact with them" as I'm paying! Talk about crazy I quietly shopped and payed for my items and your employee implied I was crazy for not making eye contact with him. Why harass a quiet, polite, paying customer? Extremely disappointing, egotistical, arrogant and passive aggressive service that made me feel totally unwelcome This employee was about 6 feet , 30yo, light brown skin, short hair and working around 5 pm but like I said before I keep to myself and wasn't really looking at the cashier (not sure why he called me crazy for not looking at him, toxic masculinity?) If I could give you zero stars, I would. women be careful. The clerk here gives me very weird vibes, and made me feel very unsafe and uneasy. When I walked in with my girlfriend, he said hello ladies to both of us I said hello back and my girlfriend did not want to say hello which is not a problem and we walked into the back of the store, but he kept yelling at us. " Hello ladies hello ladies how hard is it to say hello back" this whole time we're staying silent because at this point we feel uncomfortable and there is at least 10 customers in the store and he is only pointing us out. Even after we said hello, he said, "how hard was that?" He said "I can't talk mute" it just made us feel very uncomfortable and he wouldn't take no for an answer when we didn't want to talk to him. My husband and I experienced stellar customer service here during Cruisin' Grand. Despite the fact that we changed our son's diaper right before the short drive to Cruisin' Grand, we realized when we got out of the car that he had taken a gigantic poop. And we left the diaper bag at home. Rookie mistake, I know. We decided to hunt down a place nearby to buy diapers and wipes rather than lose our awesome parking spot. Enter this 7-Eleven on the corner of Grand & Juniper. It was a huge line, and I mean huge. It wrapped around the whole store. We quickly went in and grabbed wipes and noticed they didn't sell diapers. After moving through the amazingly quick-moving line, we approached the cashier, who appeared to be one of the owners (a husband and wife duo, I think.) As we purchased the wipes, we asked if he sold diapers, he said no and consulted with his wife, who apologized and said they should but they don't. That was when they asked what size we needed and the husband proceeded to run to the car to grab us 2 diapers from their own car since their child uses the same size as ours! I asked if we could pay for them and they refused. I was seriously blown away by the kind gesture! Thanks to them, my son was saved from diaper rash and we were saved from another parking hunt after having to lug our toddler upstairs again to change his diaper and return to the festivities. Thank you so much to the owners for your generosity! Oh, and the wipes were very reasonably priced which was super refreshing for a 7-Eleven. read more

I have gone to this 711 nearly every day for the last six months to pick up a small snack. I work right across the street and have become very familiar with the staff there. Everyone has always been very kind to me and it's always well cleaned and stocked. However today I had one of the worst experiences of my life and was incredibly disrespected by one of the employees here multiple times. I was having a blood sugar crash, as this morning I woke up late and wasn't able to eat. I just wanted to pick up a snack. Multiple times I tried to pay with my credit card, which I had just used in another store. She tried both machines, but nothing was working. I politely asked "is there anyone else who can help me," thinking that she may be new as I'd never seen her before. She proceeded to yell at me in the middle of the store, in front of many customers, some of whom I know as they're regulars at my store. Frustrated, I kept trying, desperate to just eat something and already out of time on my break. She continued yelling at me, saying "why are you sighing like that, why are you acting like this is my fault, you're the one who's card doesn't work," while refusing to let me see a manager or at least any other employee so I could at least try to report her behaviour. I went back again on my second break. I said nothing, and was very kind. My card went through. As I went to leave she said, "you know I'm the same woman as before right?" I said yes. She proceeded to yell at me a second time. "I should've charged you double for how you acted, how dare you be so rude to me, I can't believe you even came in here again," just incredibly rude and unnecessarily disrespectful things. I said "you were rude to me first," and she went off, yelling over me so I couldn't get a word in edgewise, and saying "if I was such a bitch to you maybe you shouldn't come back then huh," and I said "Oh don't worry, I won't". I plan to do whatever it takes to ensure this behaviour is reported. I have been a regular for years and a daily customer for months and have always been treated with kindness and believe myself to be on good terms with every employee there except for her. I will call corporate if there is no manager to speak to. There's no reason for me to be told never to come back to a store I frequent because I "seemed irritated" after she publicly yelled at and embarrassed me, while I was having an awful blood sugar crash and could barely see straight. I will not allow her to force me out, and I will not go back until it is dealt with after her threats to "charge me double" and "spit in my food". This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

On October 16, 2018, at 4:50 PM I made my way into this location to purchase $100 worth of lottery tickets. Most stressful visit and last visit to a 7-11. First off I hear this white employee named Chris wearing a hat yelling at this old Asian man named William. Cussing in front of kids, telling William to hurry up, count faster, belittling him, all in front of about 9 customers standing in line. Sign #1 to not do business here. Silly me thought oh a lottery ticket how hard can that be. In and out. I ask for $60 worth in Mega Lotto and $40 in Super Lotto and I was really clear on that. Chris the employee says to me "You know that's $2 a line?" in a super condescending way. I respond "that's not a big deal at all". He then goes to his machine starts printing them. William the one who was belittled cuts Chris to use the only working register. They go back and forth swearing each other (in front of kids who wanted to purchase a dinosaur toy) about who gets to use the register. Once he was done printing them Chris gives me the tickets and rushes me out. As I was reviewing the tickets outside I noticed he didn't give me the correct amount I asked for. He gave me $40 worth of Mega and $50 worth of Super Lotto. How do you mess that up? It's a simple request to use the entire $100 bill. How do you get that wrong? Is simple elementary math that hard? Oh yeah, I forgot you work at 7-11. That's why you are there can't progress any further in life than a clerk at a 7-11. Simple math. 60+40=100 if that's hard for you, how do you even get dressed on a daily basis? I walk back in ask for a refund or a correction for the amount that was given to me. Chris said he can give me $10 for mega and then I politely ask him if he can give it to me for free because there are no refunds on mess-ups employees make. He tells me "get the f*** out of the store" in front of all the customers. Enjoy your life as a 7-11 clerk because you will amount to nothing in life. Depressing life. Oh and the $100 that's 40 minutes of my time. No big deal. More upset that he responded in such a rude demeanor when the employee messed up my request for the lottery ticket amounts. read more

This particular 7-Eleven is useful when attending one of the many Escondido main street events (Street Fairs, Cruising Grand, and various farmer's markets) Those events are always busy and expensive. Good news is that 7-11 offers visitors and locals alike reasonably priced drinks and snacks. - Bottled and canned drinks seem a bit limited compared to other 7-11's in the city. - Took my SD Fair free Big Gulp coupon without issue, even put a smile on the chick's face. read more

Fuck this place and I mean hard. So I went here to buy just a few beers the other day at around 8:00 p.m. on a Friday night. I went with 4 friends, all 21 or over and one who was 20. I was the only one who was trying to buy alcohol and my friend came over with me to help me select what we wanted. He ask for identification from both of us even though I was the only one buying alcohol, and they did this before I even selected what alcohol I wanted. After checking their shitty selection, I finallly just decided on some Corona which was like 15 bucks for a little six-pac. But whatever. So then I am standing in line with all my friends and I get to the counter and they ask me again for my ID and then everybody else's ID too! So like I said before earlier, all my friend were 21 or over except for one who was 20! So they wouldn't let me buy the damn beer!! I was like WTF? I come here often for an energy drink after my lunch break. It's well stocked and clean inside, and the parking lines have just been redone. The staff is friendly for the most part. My favorite is Maggie, a short Latin girl. She's sweet and very pleasant. William, an Asian gentlemen, is very quiet. He's neither rude, nor particularly pleasant. There are two other employees that I see often - a tall, older man with grey hair who is polite and nice, and then a man most likely in his 30s, with longer brown hair tied into a ponytail. He's the most miserable of the bunch, and I try to avoid being run up by him. My only gripe is that it attracts a lot of less than desirable folk, being in downtown Esco. A lot of bums, punks, and addicts tend to hang out outside of the store. They usually don't bother me, but it does leave me a bit paranoid when walking past. read more

As a matter of fact today, one of them walked in the store and a police officer followed him and asked him to go outside. And from the outside, he was being questioned by that one officer and more officers started to show up. When I left the store, I over heard the officer telling or asking the guy why was his pants unzipped and showing his junk to other people. And yes, I over heard this conversation while walking from the store to my car and they happened to be in front of my car. Ok, let's talk about the store again. If the owners aren't there, it's basically a mess and the employees don't really care about customer service. They are just there to ring you up and nothing else. They will even have their own conversation with each other while ringing you up. So, again, if you want to go to a 7/11 and this is the closest one, just be careful and make sure you look around before you get out of your car. read more

went in the store round 10 am, friday morning, i had been coming to this store pretty much every friday morning for round 20 years for coffee with an old friend, the clerk, an elderly asian man named mike is wearing gloves, good for him, he is protected. he takes a large coffee cup then takes the heat shield and puts them together, then with the palm of his gloved had pushes the mouth of the cup into the heat shield and hands it to my friend, it probably wouldn't have been so bad if i had not watched him touch just about everything including a previous customers money. the asian woman, blew a gasket, when i pointed this out. she took my cup and my friends and threw them in the trash, saying were not clean enough for you, take your business somewhere else and told us to leave. now who is in the wrong here, they cashed in a 30 year business relationship and two long time customers. i just got off the phone with corporate after filing a safety report. dirty is dirty, and i would have liked to have a clean cup for and of coffee wouldn't you? read more
