For pastries, the double chocolate cookie was warm and indulgent, the pistachio croissant had a strong authentic flavor, and the lemon bar was bright, sweet, and easily a favorite. We ended with the organic berry refresher which was super refreshing and a perfect way to finish. The biggest positive was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. I ordered a cold brew with nonfat milk but was disappointed to learn that nonfat was not available, so I went with 2% instead. Unfortunately, the coffee was bitter rather than smooth, which is normally one of the qualities I enjoy most about cold brew. I also tried the blueberry scone. It was just OK--perfectly edible, but not particularly memorable. For comparison, the cranberry walnut scone at Gregorys Coffee is considerably better. Brewology offers an extensive selection of creative drinks and attractive pastries, so other customers may have better luck with one of the specialty beverages. Still, the prices felt a bit high for what I received. Between the appealing setting, interesting menu, and exceptionally kind staff, there is potential here, but the coffee and scone did not quite justify the cost for me. The buttercream frosting was where I felt the cake fell a bit short. It tasted like pure unsalted butter and had almost no sweetness to it, so we ended up just eating the cake center and leaving the frosting. Unfortunate for an expensive cake but based on the other reviews I'm wondering if it was just a one time error. When you walk-in, you'll be greeted by wonderful staff and a regular coffee shop. Order your coffee, and walk through the door to their lounge. Just magnificent. It's decorated tastefully with antiques, nostalgic items, and dim lighting. There are also paintings and art for sale as the coffee shop is big on promoting local art. My only "complaint" is the coffee may be expensive to others. Truly, I think you get what you pay for and Nautilus is absolutely quality coffee. Do yourself a favor and make the visit!!
