One thing I love to do is review food, and Amelia's Bakehouse is a new favorite of mine. I went in today and tried several things off the menu, including a turkey and Brie sandwich, four empanadas (three buffalo chicken and one Smashburger), two warm chocolate chip cookies, and a hot latte. They were even nice enough to throw in a few extra things on the house. Everything was so good -- super flavorful, tasted homemade, and fresh. Grab a tea or coffee - and any of their many home made bakery items. Croissants, a few varieties- muffins- lots to try. Super friendly staff. Many of their items are made fresh daily some out of their main Northport location. Likely how they have such a nice selection so easily. Everything was delicious that we tried. A perfect place to stop to bring something - especially when early in the morning or day. They open at 7 am. A pleasant surprise to finally find and try here. read more

Felt like something different for breakfast today so ordered a Frittata from Emilia's Bakeshop in Melville through DoorDash. I cannot believe that the workers thought it was OK to send out the Frittata to a customer like this. They also didn't have onion rolls so instead of letting me know they sent out a mixture of four other stale rolls!!! When I called I was met with an incompetent staff member with an attitude. She said "yes we warmed it up for you" hahaha I said warmed it up it's burnt black. I always heard such great things about this place. It's a one and done. read more

OK, I found this cute little bakery on yelp. Everything was super fresh. We immediately tore into a cake pop and a chocolate croissant. I was able to get a decaf latte that was made perfectly. If you're interested, they also sell empanadas and lemonade, iced coffee , a little cookie set you can decorate at home small cakes, energy bites. Dropped by on way out to East end of Long Island to try their empanadas. Ordered a chicken pot pie, a brisket and a tortilla. M Got 2 pastry cigars - apple and chocolate. Also ordered a snickers latte and a pistachio cold brew. The brisket empanada filling was flavorful but the shell was just ok. The chicken pot pie was average. Lastly the tortilla one was not a fave. The cigars were good but you could get the same at other bakeries. And the I didn't really taste any pistachio flavor in the cold brew but there was a lot of cream so it tasted like a foamy latte. Friendly service and nice when being asked a lot of questions. Saw a steady flow of patrons. Not a place that I would drive out of my way to go but if I was hungry and wanted to grab something to eat while in the area, I would stop in and get something. read more

When the pies were brought to me, the apple pie was not apple crumb & the blueberry did not have a lattice crust. The young woman helping me said the baker must have made a mistake and she was sorry. Each pie was $25.00. She offered me a $15 gift card. But I will not deal with them in the future. read more

This place is easy to miss, but make sure you stop. It is on the east side of Route 110 a little bit north of Northern State Parkway. They have delicious, baked goods, cake, pops, protein muffins, and lattes. The cakes looked delicious and everything was very fresh. We did not try, but they do sell empanadas, which seemed to be very popular. read more

I always want to try this place when I go past it and today I decided to make a stop. We tried 4 empanadas (Beef + Chorizo, Breakfast, Braised Brisket, Spinach) and wow were they amazing. They all had so much flavor and the worker was incredibly kind and warmed up the ones that were made earlier in the day. The beef and chorizo had olives in it which surprised me and added such a unique flavor profile with the meats and spices. The breakfast was not my personal favorite, but only because I am not a huge breakfast wrap person. My boyfriend, who very much is, absolutely loved it. We waited for a new batch of Brisket to come out and I was amazed by how juicy and tender it was, definitely worth waiting. The spinach was as expected and I was incredibly satisfied, definitely seasoned well and didn't taste bland like spinach dishes can. We had also tried a chocolate cigar and pretzel croissant. The chocolate cigar was very flakey and reminded me of a chocolate cinnamon babka. The pretzel croissant was perfectly flakey and a great mix between a pretzel and croissant. They have coffee and tea as well if you like to enjoy that with pastries. The establishment was very cute and quaint and the worker was amazing and so sweet. I will absolutely be back and I am interested in trying the one in Northport. read more

I was really excited to try this place, it's far from me so I've been trying to fit it in my schedule to make the 40 min drive. I was beyond disappointed that I ordered a turkey sandwhich as I do not eat pork for personal reasons. I triple confirmed it was just the honey turkey seasoning that made it look pink. Well after eating the sandwhich another employee confirmed it was indeed a big fear... ham. Haven't eaten pork or red meat in 13 years. To continue that trend of paying for items I didn't order, I got home to realize my chocolate cookie dough croissant I was excited about was not in the bag and I received something completely different that I didn't want. I also spent my Sunday physically ill and mentally not the greatest. I did call the store to allow them the opportunity to make things right prior to posting this review, didn't receive a follow up call. This morally is messed up and not how I would expect a small business to conduct themselves. read more

I'm only giving two stars, because the girl who took care of me was very sweet. Extremely disappointed with the quality of this bakery. It was my first time stopping in and I definitely will not be returning. Considering they are a Bakehouse, specializing in bakery treats, and bread, nothing was fresh. I bought a box of pastries to bring to a friend's house, and I was very embarrassed by the quality of the products. The croissants had absolutely no flakiness or crunch to them. They were squishy and resembled the quality of a supermarket bakery. The chocolate chip cookie was very hard and stale. I personally tried the chocolate croissant and was super disappointed to only see one piece of chocolate inside. Typically chocolate croissants, have two chocolate logs, running parallel to each other in the pastry. Very very disappointed. As much as I love to support small businesses, I would have been better off visiting a supermarket's bakery for the quality I received. read more

Legit coffee. In years of travel i've found a shocking difficulty in finding decent "local" coffee shops. Most aren't and Yelp doesn't help because there's no way to distinguish ahead from "local coffee shop exists, five stars" and it's a lemonade stand with a Keurig, and a place like this that actually knows what they're doing. But this crew makes an actually decent latte, and at a lower price than the big place next door as well. Not even to get into the baked goods but again, a narrow measure: good cheese danishes. It all seems good. But ultimately, if you're looking for good coffee that isn't the other place, come here! read more

This place holds a special place in my heart. It's right smack in the center of Long Island right off of Route 110. From the outside it really doesn't look like much, but once you walk in, the plethora of baked goods are a sight for sore eyes. Everything is baked the night before and brought to you fresh the morning of. I have bought many a sweet treat from here and they were all amazing, but I'll list my absolute favorites: 1) The pretzel croissant. They have mini ones as well as larger ones. You can also purchase a sandwich with a pretzel croissant. Literally one of the best things I've ever tasted. They are prefect for any time of the day. If you go in here, these are a must! 2) The donut holes are phenomenal. Not too sweet like you would get at Dunkin'. Definitely great to munch on. 3) Any of their crumb cakes. The most recent one I purchased was a mini blueberry crumb pie. Soooo tasty! 4) They have all different loaves of bread, but the one that stands out is the rustic Italian. PERFECT for Sunday dinner. 5) The chocolate blackout cake is BOMB. I don't really need to say much more except that they also sell cake by the slice. Take advantage of that! 5) Finally, their lemonades. You must try the guava one. It's simply to die for. Pro tip: If you don't like your drinks too sweet, ask them to put some unsweet iced tea in there. Every time I've gone in, the girls behind the counter have been super sweet and patient. After many visits here, this is my consensus: there is a great inconsistency at this place in terms of quality and freshness. I could get a wonderfully fresh and delicious brownie, or one that is hard as a rock and inedible. They have items in a refrigerated case, and items sitting out- stick with what is in the refrigerated case, as the stuff that sits out sometimes gets me sick or is stale. I have no idea how they just leave out not only baked goods, but empanadas and fritters as well, and think they wouldn't get people sick. Just be really careful and selective here. read more

You smile instantly as you are warmly greeted by Leyna ( Manager, Baker, Multi hat wearing extraordinaire ) and her mother Maggie. You browse through the displays and simply cannot decide between the beautiful and heavenly fresh fudge brownies, assortment of cookies, pretzel croissants, cakes including red velvet, rugelah, scones, muffins, pastries and oh yes, the fresh baked breads. Maggie gives you a sample, a freshly baked delicious and magnificent oatmeal raisin cookie to go with your lovely Giorgio Colombian just brewed coffee and asks about where you grew up and your family. In five minutes you and Maggie realize that the both of you bought the same type of vehicle from the same car dealer in Long Island 17 years ago. You both trade stories about your great kids and their kids. There are no accidents and everything happens for a reason. The very nice owner Mike pops by and personally says hello. Maggie and Leyna are having fun as you witness that they know all six customers who come in during those 20 minutes by their first name. You take a bite of your " pretzel croissant" Sammy with prosciutto after you photograph it and let off a little whimper as this is unique and just krazzeeee good. You actually feel like you are in Paris, maybe in NYC. Now slowly open your eyes. This beautiful Bakeshop named Emilia's is right smack in Suffolk County, Long Island in the town of Melville. This level of quality, natural love, customer service and care is not just a dream - it is real and happening at Emilia's. I am still smiling. A gem, a rare experience and a must stop just a mile and a half north of the LIE exit 49 on Rt 110. It is on the east( right) side as you are going north towards Huntington and there are parking spaces in front. If you get to Subway, you came about 115 yards too far. Was in a desperate need of a snack/coffee and didn't want the usual chains. I was driving up 110 and saw the sign for Emilia's and decided to try it. Such a good idea. The coffee options are varies. I opted for an americano which was solid. I also got a bacon and brie frittata (super good) and an almond croissant and a rye bread for home.
