True to its name, Caffe Luxxe is a luxury. Tasty but expensive!…read more This LA based cafe sits on the backside of 2nd & PCH. Luckily this means that parking is always a breeze with their large marina-side parking lot. I ordered the Honey Latte and an almond croissant. This is one of the best croissants that I've had from a local coffee shop. It was both flakey and chewy, and stuffed with the most delicious almond paste. While the drink was great, I felt that it was on the smaller side for the price tag. Especially with the cold foam topper. Sadly, due to its size and my lack of self restraint, this beverage was gone in seconds.

I attempted to order a double espresso this afternoon and the barista who was helping me was kind…read moreand professional throughout this interchange. My review is not about her, but about the "store policy." I was told the shots would be ristretto, which is not my preference, so I responded with "I'd like about 3 ounces" and was told that it wasn't going to be that. I've learned when having these conversations, it's important to skip the labels of ristretto, espresso, and lungo and just say the outcome you want. I was then told, "It's not going to be that much," and then I asked if they could simply draw it long. The response I got told me all I needed to know: "We're not supposed to. It can dilute the flavor." I told them that I didn't want it and ordered a blueberry muffin to eat with my friends while they had their coffee. If you are an espresso drinker and you don't like it ristretto, this is not the cafe for you. I think this is a really weird hill to die on for a place that claims to serve high end coffee.

Give yourself time to find parking on Main St. or nearby. We ordered Queen Mums which we enjoyed with our own pots of tea.. the meal was so filling! Salads were fresh, sandwiches had a good variety, scones were soft. It's a leisurely lunch which was really appreciated. No rushing the food or us to leave. We ordered birthday cake and vanilla almond teas, and were very happy with our choices. Overall enjoyed the day at McKenna's Tea Cottage! We are looking forward to going back.

To say this establishment was overpriced is an understatement. This place markets itself like some…read moreelegant, cozy, English tea experience when in reality it looks like the inside of a dying hoarder grandma's house. The carpets and walls are "rustic" if you're being generous, but honestly they looked cigarette-stained and filthy. The service was atrocious too. It took nearly THIRTY MINUTES just to get tea. Tea. Not a five-course meal. Then we waited OVER AN HOUR for finger sandwiches that tasted like cafeteria scraps. Most of the food was genuinely awful. The only remotely edible items were the tomato soup, cucumber/egg sandwich, and chicken quiche -- except the quiche wasn't even included and cost an extra $22, which is insane for a place already charging premium prices for mediocrity. The "egg sandwich" was basically stale yellow bread with microscopic traces of egg. And whoever decided HAM AND BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE belonged in a finger sandwich needs to be fired immediately. Even the table decor looked terrible. Every table had random mismatched pieces from different sets instead of a cohesive theme, so the whole place just felt cluttered, lazy, and disorganized. Nothing about this experience felt charming or intentional. I waited over an hour to eat garbage in a room that smelled like dust and neglect. Absolutely do not recommend. I wasn't paying, but the experience costed over $100 (including $60 from a groupon).

Chill staff too! I chatted with a barista to find the right cup to get, then enjoyed a brew from Newbery St. (beans from Thailand!). It came out super delicious, and I enjoyed my purchase in air conditioned bliss. Pourover coffee not your thing? There's batch brew, and you can always get a cappuccino. Or matcha. Or a Thai tea. Pastries if you're hungry. Memento was an unexpected *MEMENTO*. I found out they're part of this year's "The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops" list, and this tracks. My only complaint? Wish the music wasn't as loud. Outlets if you need them. Play Pokemon Go? Memento is near a Pokemon gym.

We go back cus the coffee&matcha is decent but the service &how they go about ordering&what you can order is absurd. Every time my husband wants to add coldfoam to a drink the barista always says no it's only on certain drinks. But your a coffee shop that provides that on "speciality" drinks but can't offer it on an iced latte that we are willing to pay for? That's crazy. Also there is nowhere on their menu or inside or outside of their shop that says WE CANNOT MODIFY ANY DRINKS on our menu cus if your only putting this "coldfoam" on certain drinks then SAY THAT SOMEWHERE and you should probably put up a sign directly by the menu or at the cash register area saying WE DO NOT ADD ON COLDFOAM ON TOP OF whatever drinks you don't offer it on so people know what to expect when ordering. I really think it's weird and ridiculous that you offer a "coldfoam" on "specialty" drinks but literally cant just put it on top of a plain vanilla latte &the customer can pay for it still, almost ALL coffee shop nowadays offers that at the least. And the TWO drinks I believe they put a "coldfoam" on top of, on the actual menu it doesn't even say that they come with the coldfoam, so how are we the customers suppose to know what drinks come with coldfoam and what drinks don't? Such weird vibes here and wish you guys would just accommodate the customers more cus that's who keeps a small shop like this going.
