I had to repeatedly ask the employee standing a couple of feet from me no less than six times if I was just supposed to use the men's stall. He ignored me for the longest time, never acknowledging my existence. My husband was desperate for coffee, but there was only the bottom of a cold pot and the heater was off. He said it tasted terrible. There were not a lot of grab-n-go food options besides chips, bars, and candy. We rushed to leave this mediocre Exxon, never to return.

I also asked them to check the transmission fluid and investigate a suspension knock that I was hearing/feeling. The owner checked the car and called me and we agreed on the work to be done and the price. He explained that the knocking was due to strut and sway bar wear and I decided not to have that work done this visit as he said it wasn't a dangerous situation. When I went to pick up the car I had additional discussions with the owner and I found him to be very honest and sincere. He understood that I was reticent to sink a bunch of money into a 12 year old car. He knew I had done my own brake work and said he was confident I could do the suspension work myself and even gave me tips on how to do it. The work LARC did was done well, with quality materials, and at a fair price - not cheap, but fair. The owner also checked out an old Mazda I had and while no work was done, that experience was also very positive. Another good feature of this shop is that the station is open late so you can go in after hours and pay and pick up your car. And "The Grill" also has great food to boot. There is always an element of fear when I take my car in to have work done. Mechanics many times are in a position to take advantage of customers, and many do. So besides knowing I am going to get quality work done at LARC, I feel there is great value in knowing that I can trust that I'm going to get honest feedback and not get scammed. I feel very fortunate to have found LARC and I will definitely be using them for future work.

I was hoping to end up on an exit where there would be a chain that I knew or at least a national chain that was open. I have never heard of High's and I see that it is Baltimore's take on a Sheetz or Wawa. Just without all the frills. There was a national chain competitor nearby, but at this time at night I didn't want to chance it with it not being open. Entrance into here isn't horrible, you just need to pay attention to all the other people doing the same exact thing. Pricing for fuel was on par in the area. Easy stop and go if you don't need to go inside. Pay at the pump and just scoot off after fueling. For me, I attempted to go inside with hopes of using the facilities, grab a drink and continue on the way. I was able to accomplish some of that. I didn't notice any facilities and the two employees seemed like they didn't want to be bothered. One in the backroom, but still visible on the sales floor, leaning back in a chair with a phone to her ear. Their take on the ready to eat food was fried chicken, like some other places. But the highlight was the self checkouts. Wouldn't want to interrupt a girl on her phone.

My good friend that I visited in MD comes here all the time as it's on the way to her barn. We stopped here so she can grab a breakfast sandwich at their subway express. I wanted to stop for coffee somewhere and she goes, trust me, they have good coffee. I was like really? gas station coffee good? wtf? Well, this review is based solely on that coffee bar. Their self-serve coffee station is GIGANTIC. Wrap around and HUGE. This gas station is seriously in the middle of nowhere and the coffee bar is just ridiculous. But I love it. They had all sorts of coffee available, including hazelnut coffee which I ended up having. To my surprise it was actually a good brewed coffee, not a couple of beans thrown in some hot water like most gas stations. They also had all sorts of creams available. Everything from non-diary to whole cream, along with flavored creamers --- hazelnut, (non-alcoholic) irish creamer, vanilla and a couple other I can't remember. I was in coffee heaven. The best part? Their largest cup of coffee was 1.80. Heck yes. If I lived in the area I would come here all the time for my coffee runs on the go.
