What's so exciting about a 7-Eleven? In a word? Nothing…read more Sure, it's convenient. And yes, the price is wildly inflated on the most basic of items. But it will come through for you every time you realize you're out of milk (or diapers--yikes!) or when you NEED a fountain pop this.very.second. Lotto tickets? Newspaper? Chocolate? Yes, yes, yes. You need a quick fix, 7-Eleven is your GTG (Go To Guy). This location is within easy walking distance of my house and to say I've frequented it dozens of times for items needed for any of my five kids (or for an ice cream fix for mommy ;) might be a slight underestimation. And hey, I know that a 7-Eleven is, well, a 7-Eleven. So what sets this one apart? Cleanliness and service. Convenience stores always seem a little, well, too convenient. Too contagious, too dirty, too unkept. Not so with this spot. It's always well stocked and clean. And even if I'm just stopping in for a pack of gum and some smartwater, my germaphobia never takes a vacation, you know? That being said, service here is top notch and I never feel like I simply MUST bathe in acid upon exiting. And for a convenience store? I say again since it bears repeating...it's a miracle. In short, this 7-11 is where it's at. But don't buy out all their Ben & Jerry's unless you're planning on making a stop at my crib, yo. :)

If it is not in stock, they won't bother telling me; they'll just say my description is being worked on. If I call the stores, I get computerized menus, and they disconnect me when I try to dial out to the operator. Not at the Midlothian location, though. These folks are always really helpful, especially now, when the meds I take are harder to get (due to manufacturer shortages). In all seriousness, getting my descriptions filled can be anxiety-provoking, but not at the Midlo location. And look, I hate to add this, but the women working here have an A+ cleavage game. I typically don't notice things like that--I'm a good person, a moral person, and even the youth gang I joined as a kid (we ransacked Kendall County, Illinois--and we got away with our crimes!) was a God-oriented (actually, I should have written "god-oriented," as we worshipped Lil Kaos, the pagan god of mayhem and punching people in the groin) gang. We spread violence and "goodness" (of a form) in equal measure. Anyway, I'm a good person, so I usually don't notice this sort of stuff. Suffice it to say that this is the only Walgreen's where I go inside to pick up my descriptions. And I ain't exactly hard on the eyes, neither, so the workers are getting something out of it, too, but it's still a thrill for me.

The Americano was really hot and they even warm the cream for you. The sandwich tasted really good. Lots of avocado and the lemondono is as sweet which made the sandwich savory with a sweet little kick. The lady working the counter was extremely friendly and personable. It's located by the Metra so it's a perfect place to come by and grab a bite before getting on the train or even just work for a bit. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be back!

This one stays open until 7:00 p.m. during the week! When I first walked in, I had a terrible experience with Brittany. She seemed very preoccupied and when I asked her to explain something on the menu, she told me "it's pretty much what it says." When I expressed my displeasure with her response, she grabbed a menu to read it explaining that it was just added to the menu as if that excused her behavior. This left a very sour taste in my mouth but because I had a meeting, I sat down after ordering a pistachio latte. The Latte was amazing! Before leaving I ordered a second one, but I stayed and spent the day working. There are plenty of seats and there are a couple of really comfy couch spots. After a few people left, I was able to move to one of those spots and felt right at home. After Brittany left, I was able to relax a little bit more and had a very productive work day. The music is louder than I like; I had to take two business calls and both times they mentioned the noise level, but other than that,I love this spot. It is across the street from the metra train station where parking is free, so I don't anticipate ever coming here and having a hard time finding parking. I ended up eating lunch here and had a Cuban sandwich which was so good! And it was huge... So I took half home for dinner. The south suburbs need more places like this! I can't wait to come back.
