I usually get to the truck when it arrives in my area. Since I was out this way, I remembered the brick store had opened. The inside was bright and clean. Drive through was four cars deep so I chose to go in. I hit it at the right moment as the line piled up behind me. There were people taking pictures on decorated walls which was nice. They have donuts and other sweets that can be jazzed up to your liking. I just came for the ice cream. Trying to understand why Rainbow Cone is now putting mainly Orange Sherbet in their Rainbow Cone flavor? It used to be you got a nice amount of each of the flavors. Stopped by Rainbow Cone in Orland Park for a classic rainbow ice cream cone! I grew up on rainbow ice cream but am happy to see establishments are slowly making their way to more communities. One can come and order a regular cone or upgrade for a waffle cone. Additionally, one can sub a flavor to get double of another. My favorite flavors are always orange sherbet and pistachio in the stack. They also sell other flavors, rainbow ice cream containers to go, ice cream cakes, and more! The original store on Western has been a staple in Chicago for so many years, I was only a kid when my grandma introduced me to the Original Rainbow Cone. They had ice-cream flavors like pistachio; a creamy green flavor with chopped nuts inside and palmer house; a rich vanilla with cherries and walnuts. Add that with the chocolate, the strawberry and famous orange sherbet and you will have the perfect rainbow cone. This new location in Orland Park/Tinley boarder is absolutely beautiful! Ice cream colors everywhere, check out the details in the floor when you visit. There is also a beautiful outdoor seating area. The store was a bit crowded but the lines moved nicely. I've been here three times, and unfortunately have had Tracy as the person assisting me. On numerous occasions, she has an attitude and is not helpful. Despite having an artitude, she cracked my rainbow cone. Her customer service lacks, and I'm very unsure how she reached management position. I had previously only visited the original one in Beverly, so I was excited to see them building out a new location where a long-closed Bakers Square used to be. I visited during their grand opening and they were working really hard to keep things moving along. I've been back a couple more times since and they're as busy as ever! I go home, open up my icecream and as I'm eating ! find a hair buried inside the ice cream. MID BITE, I had to put it down and take a photo. So ontop of bad customer service the ice cream is fucking disgusting and full of hair? This is just a tiny piece I found, imagine how many more strands are inside of their tubs. I won't be back. Well if you've ever been to the original on 92nd and Western, you know what a Rainbow Cone should be ... and you'll find it here in wonderful shape. This outlet in Orland Park is as good as, if not better than, the original location. This facility is large, clean, has more than enough help, and has the singular advantage of having a drive up ... which they run perfectly. Been here twice now and it is very well run. We went through the drive-up once and sat inside the second time, and both worked perfectly. The drive-up is especially efficient, as we ordered and received our cones quickly. I think this Rainbow Cone is going to be fabulously successful here in Orland Park. When you drive by it looks busy, but the drive-up moves them fast. And if you want to go in and sit, try coming before 5:30 and it is much easier. Good place ... recommended. read more

I was at the Orland Park Original Rainbow Cone location today. I grew up going to the location on Western Ave. The ice cream at this location (Orland) is just as delicious as I remember from my childhood. Also, I dropped the ice cream off of my cone only a few bites in. One of the staff members (possibly the manager) noticed immediately, helped cleanup, and provided another ice cream cone for me free of charge. The staff was kind and helpful and the facility was very clean. Definitely recommmend a visit. read more

The quality of their ice cream is good, but they still have some kinks to work out as a new spot. When we were there, there were tons of people. The store was completely full and folks were sitting outside as well. The lines could have went quicker, but it was hard to know when the next cashier was available based on the setup. They got my order wrong, but were kind enough to upgrade my sundae to the next size. It also seemed like they didn't have enough folks cleaning off the tables as people come and go. The vibe was "chaotic," so much so, that no one knew my mom fell trying to sit on the low stools. Another customer tried to help and fortunately she was ok. Prices are ok. I just left Rainbow cone I went with my brother and his wife. My brother ordered a waffle cone for my sister in law and a shake w a donut in it and a reg rainbow cone for me which I never got and he even tipped the lousy people. I used to live in Beverly and frequented the original Rainbow Cone glad I went back to never to return. I guess you don't value your customers. I'm a senior who is handicapped and guess the rest of the customers coming after me were way more important. Now I won't be telling my friends to go there. My local friends took me here for ice cream. The interior is delightful with bright colors and fun pink stools. I had the rainbow cone and all 5 flavors tasted very good. The staff were efficient. There were only a couple other customers on a cold dark Friday evening. The kids had a blast. The store was well lit, very clean and very instagrammable. They also sell cakes and donuts. read more

My first trip to this location. Sunday afternoon, not too crowded. No one in the drive thru lane. Long wait at the speaker before anyone said anything. I ordered one thing. An original in a cup. Get to the window, another wait. She says oh, you have a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of cookies and cream? I said no, an original in a cup. Paid my $6+, get home, and guess what I got? Chocolate and Cookies & Cream. I ate it, and wow, what low quality ice cream. Numerous ice chunks in the chocolate ice cream, and the cookies & cream wasn't much better. I was pretty disappointed. How hard is it to get a one item order correct??? I will not be back. Only made it a 2 star review because the place looks nice. Nice signage. Quality and quantity very poor. read more
