I've shopped here since they opened and today was the last time. Over the last few months things have really gone downhill. The prepared grab and go food selection is abysmal. The check out process is painful. One actual lane open with a long line. Then when you try to do self check out with a large order the worker wants to stand over you and watch you like a hawk. Just open another lane!! My final straw was today while picking up a grocery order. The girl tried to give my order to the wrong car. During the mix up she finalizes my order. However I had a $20 off coupon to use. I give her the coupon and she lies to me about actually scanning the coupon. I question her about it before she leaves my car and she lies about it to me again and says she redeemed it. When I get home I check my bill in the app and it wasn't redeemed. I called the store to speak to a manager and she can't credit my credit card either. read more

The pharmacy department was wonderful! Mike, the pharmacy manager, assisted me today with a prescription and couldn't have been better. He had our prescription transferred from Walgreens and since I had no idea how to do any of this, because happily I don't have to take any medications. When we picked up the prescription he was there and helped us with a GoodRX coupon. Five stars!!! read more

Worst store to shop because of terrible customer service. After 8 attempts at a couple different registers just to pay for my groceries and leave, four employees and a supposed manager named Angela, I left with nothing. This manager was ignorant, arrogant and shouldn't be working with the public. No apologies, no alternative compensation or help, she just grabbed my bagged items and walked away saying that I can't have what I did not pay for. Well, I tried for a half hour to PAY but their registers wouldn't print out a receipt. No one could figure out why, but her actions are unacceptable and her rude arrogance convinced me to never shop there again. read more

Great Wednesday night produce shopping bargains - or so I thought! Purchased items based on codes on signs (i.e. adverts above produce) that would not scan onto my Android. Not one of them. Notified produce manager and he happily said to tell cashier to override for the sales price. She said she would. Looking out the window at the t-storms, I bolted out the door despite my thinking how the total I paid diverted from my mental tally. Got home and noted FIVE steep discounts advertised were not reflected on my receipt. These were to be significant: about $3 per item. My budget is such that I shop sales sometimes exclusively. Mostly the produce is on its way out so it is a win/win for me and the merchants. Now I wonder if I need to actually photograph the sales signs as proof of discounts not registering. I sent a complaint to the store before posting this - but even having to post/verify/prove just one "sale" is understandable. Five is not and suggests a pattern that may fool some. That part is scary to me. Do better Mariano's. Pay attention to details like keying in sales to your registers. And give me a darn refund. read more

I do not live close to the Frankfort, IL Mariano's store but about a half hour away. However, I recently visited the store and really liked it. They have ample supplies especially in the Kroger brand which is a money saver. I did not see any broken freezer cabinets at all - in fact they appeared to be nearly new. All of the employees were great, very courteous. That would include Deb as mentioned in Jess F.'s review of the store and its employees. Offhand I think an accusation of stealing would be made and handled by the store's loss prevention personnel not by a solo employee. Always nice people. Great deli, bakery and meat areas. The lowlight is the back corner frozen section. Old or dysfunctional freezers have so much condensation every time I am there you cannot see in very well on most. Also, putting more item tables up in the aisle by the registers is cluttered looking and makes navigating around other customers frustrating. read more

Marianos gets the "Survival Mode" badge!!! Most grocery stores around my neighborhood have either closed or are so understocked, They Need to Go Grocery Shopping!!!! Marianos is like walking into Willly Wonkas Candy Factory!!!! There's so many choices you can literally develop sensory overload!!!!! The selections of fresh fruits& veggies, the Meats and cheeses, products on the shelves, specialty items is superb!!!!! Don't get me started on the food Bar and the deli !!!! First time coming here, needed a place to grab some food and drinks for the road. Well stocked grocery store. It had tons of people here but the checkout line is empty usually since it moves quickly. For an upper class grocery store this place is average. Prices are all over the place. The hot bar is either half full, food isn't cooked properly, or they are simply just out. The bakery is the WORST!!! Do not order cakes or even buy anything from their bakery. Frosting is stored incorrectly and can get you extremely sick. The frosting for the doughnuts are OLD!!!!! I witnessed the person from the back re heat the frosting that was a solid block. Disgusting. Their deli is over priced and the meat isn't the freshest. The staff aren't the greatest here. What can I say about this place? I love it! I can often find deals on produce and meats and today I scored big!! I went in for kale, and to my surprise the veggie section was dang near empty!!!! I found out that there was an issue with orders of green veggies and they would be replenished the following morning(I DID return!) As you can tell from my pics- there was so many great things to catch a deal on!!! From clearances Christmas items, to marked off steaks. I can't even tell you how many steaks I picked up. It was bananas!!! They were all on sale! Like under 5 bucks, under 8bucks type of sale!! I just bought as many as I could. Then returned the next day for more!!! It was crazy! I found some waters on clearance that had electrolytes for under 50cents!!! I just kept winning in the stop!!! I just loves sales and this store has them. Always a good time here!!!! Marianos Frankfort Il is the worst grocery store. The deli is always dirty, meats do not look fresh, the service is horribly slow. Fresh produce turns bad before you can use it. Visited this Mariano's for some last minute Christmas party goods. I love coming here because they have a good charcuterie section! Unfortunately, just like myself on a Monday afternoon, many others are shopping, leaving the store very crowded. I have found it easier to leave my cart in an isle and go and grab things and come back to it. I had a couple cold items in my cart and had left it in the applesauce isle to grab some cookie dough! Unfortunately, when I arrived back, my cart had vanished! I looked around to see if anyone had mistakenly taken my cart, but I did not see it anywhere. After looking around for a couple minutes, I see this gentleman in a flannel with all my items in his hand putting them back! I decided to leave after this and just buy my cookie dough, because if I can't leave my cart unattended for less than 2 minutes why should I shop here! read more

This is an interesting place. Fast moving, long lines, empty shelves, and vey impersonal. I have been here several times with my daughter. I am not sure it's worth the 20/25 mins trip, especially when Jewel-Osco and Walts are 5 minutes away. On this particular day, I couldn't reach the water on shelves because it was pushed far back. I asked one of the worker if she could help me. She told me to ask a customer who was over six feet tall that was in the aisle. Oh course the customer tried to help , but he couldn't get the water. I had to go though the check out line purchases the water & only then was the water removed from the shelve. When I got water home, one of the bottles was leaking. I guess it's fare to say mariano's has lost it's excellent quality since Kroger took over . Has not stopped me from shopping here . The fresh pressed juices , coffee and gelato always meet my expectations . Enjoy the atriums plants and floor to ceiling windows with cafe style seating . The oatmeal and coffee is an inexpensive breakfast combo . I pick up lunch meat and cheese from the grab and go . Never been to the counter , so can't comment on service or quality of store made salads and such from deli . Over all mariano's is still a weekly stop for me . Some times more frequently . This is a pretty awesome store. I finally got a chance to give this place a visit, after my sister had hyped it up for like years now. I'm glad to say I wasn't disappointed! There's so much to offer in this store. There's a smoothie/juice bar, an ice cream counter, a deli/sandwich counter, a hot bar, an olive bar, a salad bar, a soup bar, a sushi bar, and a BBQ area. And probably others, that I've forgotten already. The bakery is the best part, personally. There's a ton of cookies, pies, and breads. I walked away with a loaf of sourdough, French bread, pretzel bread, and a salami and provolone loaf. I also got chocolate cherry cookies, macarons, and a cupcake. Yum! There's a good variety of "gourmet" groceries as well as normal daily things/familiar brands that you need for your weekly grocery list. Everything is super reasonably priced, and there's always a bunch of good sales. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and it's well organized. They also have a great international selection. I'd recommend trying not only their bread, but their lobster bisque and watermelon juice. Yum! It's no wonder my sister loved it here, and I'm certain that I'll be back again before long. read more

Usually when I go to this location it has very good service, a good food area ambiance is amazing but this one lady (Deb) who was working the self checkout had accused me of stealing when the items were paid for. I (13 yr female) was very scared considering my mother went to go put the cart back (after paying) as we only had a few things. I presume she accused this because of my age and the prejudice against teens and stealing. I am a good kid and would never and yet i was humiliated and accused of stealing loudly in front of many. read more

This review doesn't just cover the Mariano's in Frankfort, but also Orland Park. I shop whichever store is most convenient for me at the time, but I finally have had enough! Every time I shop at either store i have found that I must check over the receipt. Many more times than not I am over charged on items. No telling how many times this had happened before I discovered how often this happens. I then have to go back in the store, wait at the desk for someone to come work it, explain the overcharge & show the item(s) and receipt to get my refund. I prefer the produce & meat over other stores in the area, that's why I have put up with this for way too long, but I'm hoping that when Pete's opens my problem will be solved. Not sure if this is just lazy mistakes or done purposely, but I can't emphasize enough that if you shop Mariano's check your receipt every time! read more

Despite some major personal beef I have with 4/6 Mariano's I've visited, I actually like this one and think its just what the South Suburbs needed. I stopped in for a quick beverage when I unexpectedly thwarted traffic and ended up arriving a full two hours early to meeting in the south suburbs, which NEVER happens. The parking lot was clean and well spaced. You don't feel a hint of claustrophobia, nor do you feel like you have to fight masses and rogue carts to get a decent and safe spot for your ride. They've got the best cafe dining area that I've seen at any Mariano's, with above-head fans that make enough calming white noise to drown out any conversation outside of your table, but still quiet enough to hear your own thoughts. There's complimentary cucumber water available in addition to their gelato, sandwich, sushi, pizza, and bakery counters -- none of which were overrun with a line that wrapped around the store like at other locations. I took a look around, knowing I likely wouldn't be purchasing any perishables given the long drive I'd have back home, but I did make an A-line for the cold (natural) beverage section and immediately set my sights on a bottle of Karma Kombucha in mixed berry flavor that had the cutest picture of a Red Panda on the label and, turns out, it's from the north suburb of Vernon Hills. Local, too! I'm sad that I don't live closer to a nice Mariano's like this one-- though Lincoln Hwy and Lagrange Rd traffic might drive me insane (you South-Siders deserve some kind of sainthood for having the patience for that ish). But I'm excited to know I have somewhere that isn't another gyro and beef sandwich place to stop in for a drink when I'm in the area. read more

Usually I have good experiences in this store, but upon visiting this particular location, I dealt with an EXTREMELY rude manager named Jim. I was trying to make a purchase but clearly it was something wrong with THEIR registers. I had yet to even pull my card out of my wallet since both the nice young lady and gentleman at the register and customer desk were trying to resolve whatever the issue was. The first thing Jim says to me (after starting to snatch my purchase off of the conveyor belt) was something along the lines of he doesn't know what to tell me if my card isn't working and I should try another one and there's nothing he can do about it. Huh???!!! I proceeded to tell him that my card was not the issue since it had yet to even leave my hand and that it was their system that was giving the problem. Apparently this wasn't registering with him and he was still talking about maybe I need to try back tomorrow and even the young lady behind the register is looking at him like wth! Once he finally heard what we were trying to say then he's like oh and at that point I was appalled. I would hate to say something like race was an issue, but how dare you start taking away my purchase from me and start spewing random things about my card not working when you need to address technical issues and my card hadn't left my hand/wallet!!!! HORRIBLE customer service!!!! So glad that I've never experienced such madness at any other the other locations. Absolutely ridiculous! read more

After the destruction of the Frankfort staple that was Enrico's Italian Restaurant, I (as well as probably most of Will County) thought that what ever was taking it's place better be good... When I found out what it was, and did a little research in my spare time, I was pleasantly surprised, since the building they were putting up looked more like a warehouse than it did a grocery store. And being that the excitement of going to Whole Foods in Orland Park wore off of me ($9.99 for Home Run Inn pizza and no xylitol? COME ON!!!) and there was a store that may be able to match my love for Brookehaven Marketplace closer to my house, I decided to check it out... So, I go in there on a Wednesday night, to get a few items before they closed. From what I saw, their prices were reasonable, but I didn't have a lot of time to look around, so I didn't do a whole lot of browsing... I just knew two things: 1.) This place is HUGE 2.) I loved how everyone was dressed in a white collared shirt, black neck tie, black pants, and black shoes...VERY CLASSY So, I stopped by in here again today to do my normal Thursday morning shopping (by the way, they open at 6:00am...which is AWESOME!) The first place I went to was the coffee bar, where I was greeted by three lovely ladies. They mentioned that the store was set up kinda like they have it in Italy: you may get a sandwich, a coffee (their Americano was pretty good), sit at one of the several cafe tables they have in the corner, then go shop. It was there that you heard the Italian music playing, and when you look around, you could see the different things Mariano's had to offer: a sushi bar, the coffee bar (duh!), fresh bakers, produce, meats, cheeses etc. etc. It was pretty amazing and the floor plan is very open... If you're into having a few glasses of wine, or a beer with your family, they have the biggest (and very organized) alcohol section next to maybe Binny's. Though I don't drink, it was pretty impressive. Their ethnic foods section (which is about two aisles long) was great as well, with a good selection of foods, accented by a little cultural music getting pumped in over the store's normal background music...and the rotating projection being shined on the floor gave it a nice touch as well... I REALLY like this place! It's only been open for a couple of days, but it's very clean, they have a good selection of fresh foods, the floor plan (as I stated before) is open, and I'm sure there's a lot of other things that I forgot to mention... i purchased wild caught salmon today and it ended up being old - i've never brought fish home from a grocery store butcher/meat counter and had it smell this terrible - the house was filled with the strongest fishy smell. when I called they were not sure the date it was put out, I asked them to please confirm with someone and they told me it was from yesterday and that no one bought it, so they put it out again today. I have a feeling this fish is more than a day old. I was offered to come back and purchase new filets for half off. but why would i come back when I know the fish is old? it should've been a refund. won't ever return here for meats. read more

I'm kinda weird because I enjoy going to different grocery stores and comparing them to each other. I know that Mariano's is getting really popular and I couldn't wait for a chance to check it out. It reminds me of Whole Foods a lot, but it's even bigger than the Whole Foods i normally go to. I've now been to this Mariano's twice and am close to calling it my favorite grocery store. -Produce and meat are reasonable and on point with other grocery stores (and even lower on some items) -Friendly workers -Lots of taste testing! When I was here, I got a pretty large portion of an italian beef and I also got to try out some new coffee. -Fresh market bars that make for a good lunch spot. The soup was really good and cheap! -Clean -Nice selection of organic foods The cons -Everyone in the area loves this store so the lines can be horrrrendous. My 2nd visit, I was in the 15 or less aisle behind a person that had WAY more than 15 items. She also decided to argue about the price on everything. I was in line for at least 20 minutes for a handful of items. -The parking lot can be cray at times. It's not all bad though - a little exercise never killed anyone. -Sample the juice from the juice bar before buying! I bought a carrot/cucumber/celery one and it was DISGUSTING. So glad we have Mariano's in our neighborhood. The south suburbs finally have a "real grocery store". The north siders have sunset foods, treasure island, and other small well run grocery stores. We were long overdo. I love cooking. They have everything I could possibly want. Ethnic ingredients from all the continents in the world. Everything is well layed out. Every department excels in their contents. So many choices, yet all fresh. Must experience, I will not shop anywhere else. Prices are competitive. I feel like I'm on vacation when I shop here. Great atmosphere, well displayed, love the live piano player on the weekend. Keep up the good work. I have found my favorite food mart. read more

So I do not know what people are so jacked up about. Mariano's is a grocery store. I suppose if you have been doing all your shopping at Walt's, this place must seem like a palace. I mean, they have a piano guy. Some of the samplers are very nice and knowledgeable, some are completely useless. For example, I asked the wine lady what made up the blend on the red (the label said red blend) and she told me it was not a red blend it was red wine. Okay, glad you were able to clarify that for me. The angry coffee cake lady was not any better, complaining with another employee about their families did not sell me a cake. The Barilla guy and the KIND bar guy were both personable and nice and sold me some product. Yes they have fresh food, but nothing that I found interesting that day. Maybe the menus change and different days have different offerings. I wanted to try the juice bar but there were too many undecided people milling about. I liked the produce department. Big variety and not big prices. The frozen was kind of a mess. I was looking for Amy's and they have Amy's in 3 cases, sorted by gluten free, veg and something else. On top of that, the boxes are all jammed in and not in order. It's much easier to shop when all the Amy's products (except maybe pizza) are in one case. Cashiers were fine. Lines not bad. read more

Every time I go there, my choices for checking out are either 4 lines with 6 people in each or the ridiculous self-check outs which require an attendant multiple times to get through your items. I was there yesterday, Saturday July 3. Probably 6-8 people in each line and the self checkouts with about 4 people in line. They were out of BAGS, not accepting cash and of course required attendant intervention about 12x to get through. I said "enough", left my groceries there and walked out. Went to Target and zipped through and the prices were considerably lower. Just done. read more

This Mariano's has fallen off terribly. It used to be a very friendly environment with great fresh food. As of lately, all of the employees seem to be careless and have attitudes. The food that the employees grill has fallen off. The grill normally closes around 7. My family went specifically to get grilled salmon and the grill is closed before it's even 6. When asked why, everyone seemed to have an attitude. They went on to say that the person who was working the grill doesn't feel well and is going home. I'm very disappointed. The only reason that I'm not giving 1 star is because of my past experiences. I'm hoping for improvements in the near future. Update: the manager Greg went above and beyond to make sure we received the service that should have received to begin with. This is the service that I'm used to. We also received our grilled salmon.
