I had a bad experience yesterday. While I was in the produce department selecting apples, an employee was polishing the floors with a floor-cleaning machine. Instead of waiting for me to finish shopping, she asked me to move so that she could continue cleaning. I politely told her, "I am shopping, please wait." Despite this, she remained approximately 12 inches away from me with the loud cleaning machine and said "excuse me" three additional times, continuing to pressure me to move while I was trying to select my groceries. Having a large cleaning machine positioned so close to me while I was shopping made me feel uncomfortable and pressured to move out of the way. I felt bullied. Please be respectful of all customers. Her behavior was rude. Look at the woman looking at the worker in the picture. You can tell she was in her personal space as well. read more

I was so annoyed while shopping at Pete's Market. I had a very long grocery list. I had lost power at home due to a severe storm and threw out everything in my freezer & refrigerator. I needed to restock a lot of items including condiments. However, there was an employee walking behind me with a push floor scrubber. Every time I stopped to look at eggs/breakfast foods/bakery items/hot food bar/salad bar/pre-packaged chickens/soup bar/ and cookie/cracker isle.. The employee would shout 'excuse me' with a heavy sigh. I paid for the few items I already had in my cart, left and went across the street to Whole Foods. I couldn't wait for Pete's to open. I heard great things about the hot food & salad bar.. but I didn't have a chance to look at most items. I literally couldn't believe that the employee literally followed me around the store. What a crowd! Had a little time to spare so why not check out the NEW store. Pristine clean, piles of fresh fruits and veggies. Samples at every turn; fruits, chips and guac, salads, smoothies, fresh juices and horchata. Isles are jam packed with shoppers. Could not find the turkey chorizo but I know it generally sells fast. There was more variety of fish and fresh seafood in here than any other Pete's store I've visited. I did end of grabbing a few items, so I stood in line without a basket. One case of Coke for my husband, large bag of jasmine rice and some yogurt. It was more of a juggling act. Absolutely, nothing is on sale. The registers kept freezing, so we were ushered to other lines. Parking is another story; you are waiting to get into a spot, waiting to get out of that spot and fussed at in the process. I anticipate parking improving only slightly as Petes is in a great location. read more

What a nice addition to Orland Park's list of grocery stores. We have shopped at the Pete's in Bridgeview and the one in Matteson ... and could not wait for this one to open ... and now it is. We dared to go on Opening Day and we were glad we did ... it was cold and there was a line, but it was worth the wait. If you like Pete's stores, you are going to like this one. Even though it was opening day, the staffing and number of employees working every part of the business was really amazing. There was an employee in every single aisle to answer questions or head you off in the right direction. Every cash register was being used, and each checkout line had a bagger to speed things along. Besides staff helping all through the store, management was all around to keep everything in top form. The store layout is great ... when you come in the first thing you'll be greeted by (along the south wall) is the huge section devoted to all the fresh fruit and vegetables (FFV); this seems to be a hallmark of the Pete's Fresh stores. All the meat and dairy products line the back wall (west wall) and part of one side on the north wall, leading to all the freshly prepared foods ... rows and rows of serve yourself items where you can put together lunch and/or dinner to go. In between the FFV at the entrance and the food to go on the north wall are numerous aisles with all the standard stuff. The aisles are wide enough so carts can pass each other; all the shelves are blocked and fronted with product. Our favorite thing seems to be a standard for Pete's Fresh stores ... they always tailor their product offerings to the neighborhood they are in. Thus in Bridgeview you have a large section of Halal and Middle Eastern meats and products, and a slightly smaller section on Polish and Eastern European foods. Here in Orland they have a large section of international products ... we counted four or five aisles devoted to international foods. Once again ... if you like the Pete's Fresh concept, you are going to love the new Pete's Market in Orland Park. Recommended. read more

There is a cashier at this establishment named Tracy C. I am a minority. I notice when Tracy waits on people that look like her she gives them a "hey, how ya doing?" or "Have a nice day". I don't receive that when she waits on me. I wonder why...??? (On a lighter note, Nour and Yolanda K. are the best! Maybe I should just stick with checking out in their lines, huh?) read more

AMAZING Store! We got weekly flyers and meant to go-but never got time. Went here for 1st time and entered PRODUCE HEAVEN! Rows and rows of FRESH produce. MORE than other area stores. LOTS of employees running around stocking, cleaning. ALL cashiers were manned and had baggers (local Jewel on Wolf Rd. has 2 cashiers and NO baggers!). Nice fresh bakery area. Big deli area. TONS of HOT food (fresh looking) available to take out. Tried the ready to eat broasted chicken - DELICIOUS! We went for the weekly sale items (priced similar to other area grocers). Non-weekly sale items were high (just like other area groceries). Very clean store. Lots of aisles with "specialty" items - will take a closer look next time, will DEFINITELY be going back for more broasted chicken! read more

A welcome and long anticipated addition to Orland Park! I'll never need to shop at Mariano's or Jewel again. Pete's has the freshest produce always and at great prices. There's a huge meat section (including halal stuff for our Muslim neighbors), all kinds of international foods, bakery, hot bar, deli. This one also has a large refrigerated beer room. The layout of this store is very similar to the Darien location. They made good use of the space here. I like the layout of Bridgeview and the Chicago location on Western by Moon's Sandwich Shop a bit better but those are larger buildings too. The layout here works well though. Whoever does the market research at this company is a grocery store genius. Their locations always relect the local population to some degree. But they all have the unbelievable produce. they claim they keep their temperature in Pete's Market between 68 and 70° total lie. You cannot shop in that store unless you're wearing a jacket. I'm not gonna grocery shop and walk around in a jacket. Every employee in that store has a jacket on. This is a great way for them to lose business people go in and just wanna get back out because it's so uncomfortable to shop there. It's about keeping the customers comfortable and give them a great shopping experience. I refuse to go back there. There's too many grocery stores in the area that make it much more comfortable to shop. Their prices are not that great either. I'm moving on. read more

I really wanted to love this Pete's as much as I love the others. Generally speaking, this store has a TON to offer. The selections for produce, international goods, meats, etc. are VAST. But is it almost too much...? For example, the dairy section is huge as far as brands and quantity of items go, but actual product variety seems limited. The last time we went, there were only two brands of cottage cheese and hardly any sour cream in the entire dairy wing. The deli section is always so crowded with people and carts and other patrons trying to navigate the hot bar. The wait is also pretty rough. The aisles seem to go on for miles and shopping here takes longer than at other stores due to sheer size and simultaneous traffic jams in the aisles. The popcorn bar is a great feature and does help this store stand out from the rest. I do love browsing the aisles for unique products when I have the time as I am bound to find something new to try. Like the other Pete's, the bakery items look delicious and the deli has huge variety of meats, cheeses, and other goodies. The staff are always friendly and the store is very clean/organized. If you have an hour plus to dedicate to grocery shopping, this is for sure your store. While I likely won't shop here on a regular basis, it's a nice new addition to have in our neighborhood. read more

Watch your register tapes closely; some items ring up the wrong price and when you try to bring it to management attention, they argue with you. Very unprofessional management and unfriendly staff.. read more

Meats suck, no fresh butcher counter just for Halal. Prices high. Fruits not ripe enough . If you want lettuce only go to Pete's. Can't get no help on the floor no one speaks English. The layout of this new store is ridiculous....makes u walk thru store to the back to get to the front! It's laid out like a maze!Price are 25-30% more in general than most other food stores in the area. Had 3 for 3 produce purchases that when brought home had bad grapes, and cherries that should have been weeded out...especially when paying $7 a lb. for the cherries! International items lean towards 1 group in particular too. I will frequent the other local stores from now on. read more

Came on August 11th purchased 8 packs of halal quarters which 4 of them were bad so bad made my kitchen smelled and I tossed them out , I called and spoke to the manager mark and he said I dont need to bring them back to just come in anytime and get a refund as long as I had the receipt, we'll I come today to shop and get that situation resolved, a worker says she's aware of the issue and marks not here but he says I need to bring the chicken back, really! if he would've insisted on it the day of the issue I would've pulled them out of the bin to prove my claim but he assured I'll get a refund without bringing them out of the trash. The parking lot is small and with narrow spaces. Park at the end of the lot if you have a nice car. The store is clean and neat, not an item out of place. The produce is fresh and well organized. Lots of produce. The sale prices were great, very good deals. You have to sign up for their club to get the sale price, so they get your information. Regular prices are sky high. For example, the cans of flavor water I drink are nearly double the price at Pete's. if you go to several stores for their sales this would work. i just don't think you go do a one stop get everything at Pete's, unless you are rich. read more

I'm giving a 4 and a half. The place is fantastic! It is clean and the produce is the freshest you will find in the area. I will continue to shop here as I'm so very happy it finally opened! Now I have couple of things to consider, first, the stock is amazing, however ALL the stockers are in the way of the shoppers. My FIL managed a supermarket for 40 years and he had high schoolers stock the shelves at night so as to not get in the way of the customers. Second, please put a garbage can close to the bakery buns, the store is so clean now and I'd hate to see it get garbaged up by folks that won't look for a trash can. Another small item, there are no beauty items, or medications available. But all and all it's a wonderful store read more

Just go there to buy your groceries and avoid passing by the prepared meals...otherwise you will end up buying more than one dish, everything is prepared to perfection, a chef Vittorio or Victorio, is very good, he seems to know his business, he also has some meals, that are impossible to pas by. This is a new location on 150th and LaGrange Road and I just love it. The selections are endless, its spacious, staff is helpful and friendly, store is clean and I can go on and on. But what I like most is the hot food section. When I saw it for the first time all I could say was "WOW". I had the pleasure to speak with Head Chef (Victorio) who asked for my feedback on hot food and I thanked him for the great job he and his staff is doing, simply amazing, and the food is tasty. Great Job Victorio and Staff. I was speaking with another lady in the store and she felt the same way I did. She said she never leaves the store before visiting hot food section and I do the same. Even the salad bar is amazing and set up with fresh vegetables, fruits, toppings, etc., with all the beautiful color. I think what really won my heart on the hot bar was Samosa was an option and I love Samosa but never seen it as an option on the other Pete's Fresh Market I've visited. I suggest they send Victorio to the Pete's Fresh Market on 95th and Evergreen they could really use help with the food selection they serve on their hot bar.
