This 7-11 will always have a special place in my heart. It is the 7-11 of my youth. As a child, we would ride our bikes and spend our hard earned 50 cents on what was at the time the Apex Slurpee, the large. Those of us of a certain age remember that at the base of the large Slurpee was a toy. Nothing special when you look back, but for us it was kind of our first taste of independence. It was blocks away from home, were were out of touch from our parents (no cell phones in those days, we kept a dime in our pocket to use the pay phone), and we just hung out enjoying our ice, sugar and food dye. Ah memories........... Fast forward to present day. This 7-11 is conveniently located next to my house, always open, and is seldom crowded unless there is a crazy lotto jackpot to be had. The Slurpee's are still the same, and better yet they have a decent selection of beer. Of course they have just about every snack food known to man, and an extensive but sketchy offering of hot foods as well. And lets face it where are you going to get the Simpsons doughnut if not here. Service for me has always been friendly and on point. The drawback to this location is that the parking can suck. They have at most 5 real spots and it overflows quickly. Also its tight so backing up cars inevitably block the whole lot. read more

I let my kids go to the store as a reward, and I hear Tony on the phone calling my son dumb and retarded, because he was trying to slide my debt card and didn't know it was a chip. I could hear his coworker, in the background telling him to stop, but wasn't listening. So I come the next day with my son and ask the same coworker I heard in the background, is Tony available. She says yes and even admits she knows why I am here, for Tony calling my son stupid. Tony comes out and automatically starts apologizing and trying to deny he said it, til I told him I was on the phone and heard him myself, then he tried to buy my son off with candy, but my son didn't want it. Sadly this wasn't the last time. a few months later, today I let my kids go to the store and once again Tony is calling my kids out their names and now rushing them, when you can hear there are others in the store. I will be making another surprise visit to tell Tony how I feel about his narrow minded, no manners, ignorance, and I will never buy another thing from that store. read more

I've lived nearby for about a year and this was my first time in the store. I dropped in for a couple of drinks for my son's soccer game up at Greer Park. The place "cleanish". By that I mean that it looks like all of the visible surfaces are clean but if you look a little closer (and I do), you start to see that it hasn't had a proper deep cleaning in years. The door chime for such a small shop is overkill. I wonder if the employees don't go crazy hearing that 1000's of times a day. I found my drinks, grabbed some sunflower seeds, and paid the cashier who tried to sell me donuts. Worth a shot since I am not a small man, but they were a little less than fresh to my eye. It's a 7-11. Pretty much what you would expect. My one concern, and this is more of a warning, is my son purchased a couple of taquitos there last night. Given the time of the onset of the violent vomiting and how long it had been since he had eaten anything else, I'm 90% sure that's where he got the food poisoning. After vomiting every half hour or so until 10am he took a 6 hour nap and is okay now. THAT'S ONE WAY TO SPEND MEMORIAL DAY SUNDAY! It was one of the bacon egg and cheese ones. In the event that the egg is at all under cooked, keeping one of these intestinal torpedoes at microbial incubator temperature for several hours in a warmer is not a Good Idea. Eating it afterwards is Even Worse. I went to the store this morning to suggest they pull the remaining taquitos and toss 'em. Due to a language barrier, The man behind the counter eventually got the idea I was dissatisfied with two that my son purchased. He went and spoke with someone and very kindly offered to give me two taquitos free of charge to make up for the ones that made my son sick. I declined. read more

I sometimes come to this 7-Eleven for a quick snack or cold drink after a long hot day. However, I'm going to try and stop coming here. As soon as I enter the store the owner or the Hispanic employee scowl at me and act as though they do not want me there or wish to greet me with a friendly Hello. When I go to the counter to check out most often no one is there and if someone is there they make me wait before they ring me up. If there is someone behind me they ring that person up at the same time as me but forget to finish the transaction with me and act as if I can wait until that person behind me is finished with their transaction. I'm calling it micro aggression and I refuse to be treated this way anymore so even though I will be inconvenienced by not coming here I just cannot handle being treated as though I do not exist. read more

Getting lottery tickets is like pulling teeth, she makes you feel you are a nuisance.
