The customers were all a really friendly crowd, as well. Their bakery items looked so yummy, I'll definitely be ordering one next time. I got their seasonal Sakura Sweetheart matcha, which has cherry blossom syrup in it. Literally so yummy and the quality is splendid. They even sell the ceremonial matcha that they use, which has always been a good indicator of quality/premium ingredients. Their seasonal menu looked AMAZING and they even had bouquets that you could send with coffee orders for Valentine's day which was beyond adorable and super unique. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their main menu coffees. The only thing to note is that the place can fill up really fast and their drinks sell out!

The location itself is very cute and inviting. It was a little hard to get to because the street is currently under construction, but that's understandable and temporary. Despite that, there were plenty of people inside enjoying their coffee, and it was actually very quiet, which made it even more enjoyable. The prices were typical coffee shop prices, and the staff was very welcoming. They gave us time to look over the menu without feeling rushed, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a great stop while visiting Sanford.

Really good, tasty and delicious. Prepared and served quickly and lovely. The iced coffees were watered down and not good at all. I was very surprised that the prices were so high and did not expect them to be for a small neighborhood caffe. The only reason l I amgiving a 5 star review were due to the 2 employees that were working on the day I went, which was last Thursday, unfortunately they weren't wearing name tags, something the owners should consider. They constantly checked in with myself and my friend, asked if we needed anything had any questions and were super helpful sweet attentive and professional. I would definitely consider going back but it is way too expensive.

It is very much the type of environment that calls for a sit down-even if a brief one. I noticed most folk sat in with their coffees/food/pastries. The service was friendly but sadly the espresso and steamed milk machines were broken during my visit meaning many coffee items were unavailable. Major bummer as I am an iced latte lover so I settled for a cold brew which was decent. I definitely would have preferred a latte so hopefully next time I'm in Sanford, all systems are go. I also ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and requested the turkey option instead of regular bacon. I would have assumed the "turkey" option meant turkey bacon. To my surprise it was actually deli sliced turkey. While it wasn't overall unpleasant, I would have preferred turkey bacon given it is a breakfast sandwich. Would have given it that crispy element. But as stated, it was nice and a good size for the price tag. I didn't have room for any pasty, cake or pie but looking forward to trying next time as they all looked really yummy on the display case! If you are looking for a coffee or quick cafe stop in Sanford, this is a notch above the chains and worthy of a stop!

They offer breakfast, lunch, and a variety of pastries, making it a convenient spot for different times of day. When I initially placed my order, the person at the counter did not speak much English as I was asking questions about the menu and ingredients. They went to get someone from the back to assist me, which I appreciated, and that person was able to answer my questions clearly. Once that was resolved, ordering went smoothly. I ordered a beef empanada and a pressed chicken sandwich. The sandwich was made with shredded chicken and pressed on the grill, giving it a crisp exterior while staying tender inside. It was flavorful and generously sized. The portion was large enough that two people could easily share it, especially at the price point. The beef empanada was the standout. It was well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and one of the better empanadas I have had in a while. One minor issue was when my order came out from the kitchen. Although there were two people working at the front counter, it took a while for my order to be acknowledged because they were engaged in conversation with a customer picking up a to go order. It was not a major delay, but noticeable. Overall, the food quality and portion size made a strong impression. With slightly more attentiveness at the counter, the experience would be even better. I would definitely return to try the breakfast options, pastries, and more of the lunch menu. Food: 5 out of 5 Service: 3 out of 5 Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 Value: 5 out of 5 Overall Rating: 4 out of 5

I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich that came out on warm Cuban bread, and it was absolutely perfect--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. We also tried one of their fresh donuts, which was made that morning, and it melted in your mouth. All of their pastries are baked fresh daily, which makes every bite stand out compared to the typical coffee shop treats. If you're in the area, skip the chains and check out this local spot. El Coquí is a true hidden treasure that delivers authentic, fresh, and delicious food every time.
