Came here one day with some family. We went out for dinner before a show at the wonderful West End Theatre. Ambiance was quaint. It was very home kitchen in a wooden cabin, almost upscale Cracker Barrel? Anyway, it was nice, very cozy. They do a lot with a strip mall space. Service was excellent as well. Very nice folks who were very aware of our refill needs and the cleaning off of excess silverware and plates. No complaints there. As for the food, man, we got a lot of food. We started off with two apps. The Tea Braised Sticky Spare Ribs (Crispy garlic, scallions). Ummm, insanely good. Very sticky sweet ribs with an air of earthiness from the tea. I didn't see any crispy garlic anywhere, but there were plenty of scallions, adding a nice fresh veg that I never knew I needed with ribs. Very good. Charred Corn and Scallion Hoecakes (Whipped whole grain honey better, cane syrup). These were nice, too. An elevated hoecake. The cane syrup added a touch of sweet, the honey butter added a fatty unctuousness, and the hoecakes themselves were soft and moist. Like eating a whole wheat pancake. So good. One of the main dishes, I can't remember what it was, and I can't find it on the menu, but it was good. I think it came with a side of barley risotto, which was very nice. It was creamy, but had a nice barley bite to it. Very interesting. For my main event, I ordered the Pan Fried Catfish (Golden graham/pecan/cornmeal crusted, chorizo cream, red rice, braised collards, rehydrated golden raisin). Very interesting dish. The crust was a lot of fun. Not sure if the other stuff shone through, but the cornmeal was very appreciated. Cream was nice, a little spice to it. I loved the bite from that very Southern red rice. This place uses whole grains and rices very well! Just a nice dish, elevated respectfully. Overall, I love places like this. I love places that are considered the best in a small town. I love it even more when those places could compete with the big players in all of Orlando. Finding this place was a treat. I would come back.

Great service! Our waitress was nice and attentive. It's a cute place with nice decor. The seating was comfortable and there's a nice view of the street. Our breakfast was good, not fabulous. The biscuits and gravy had a lot of green onion in it, but an excellent biscuit. We will come back to try more.

We stopped in for a brunch. The space is small but we made a reservation for Saturday at 11. The servers were all so nice. The food was amazing. I loved the unique dishes and pairings. Definitely not your run of the mill brunch spot!

I had been wanting to come here for over a year after drooling over their menu online - but every time I go to Sanford, I end up going to Hollerbach's. Well, let me tell you, there's more than just Hollerbach's in Sanford! We wanted to try a few things, so my girlfriend and I split 3 items - the Caesar Salad ($12), Lemon Ricotta Angolotti ($14), and the Tea Braised Sticky Spare Ribs ($19). The Caesar is unlike any I've had before and easily one of my favorites ever. Creamy dressing over romaine, topped high with frisée, chopped cucumbers and corn nuts. Delicious! The Angolotti is homemade pasta with local mushrooms and a glorious truffle butter sauce. Incredible. But the stars of the night were the Spare Ribs. They were perfectly crispy and falling off the bone, coated in a sticky, sweet sauce; a dish so decadent that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The scallions and herbs on top really cut through the richness, and I found myself cleaning the plate of these little garnishes. Our server was welcoming and accommodating. All in all, a memorable meal and a place I'll tell others about and add to my Sanford rotation.

We went here for brunch, they have 5 menu items and 2 of them were off the menu so there were only 3 items to choose from. I got the bacon egg and cheese buiscuit, it was subpar, the biscuit was dry and it could use more flavor. The corn cakes are interesting I liked them but my significant other did not. The honey butter with the fig glaze and corn cakes was such a unique flavor. The price though for me is insane for what you get, I hate to say it but it just isn't worth the price. The service was good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Couldn't wait to try this Restaurant.. It was smaller than expected but quite Quaint, Rustic like and romantic, perfect for a date night, a night out with friends or any occasion. I ordered the Chicken special with Peppers, Tomatoes and Beans with an Au Jus sauce. It was delicious!! Everything was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a bottle of Red Wine it was so good but I didn't get the name, it was from Italy if that helps lol Dessert I ordered the Cornmeal Pie and it was much better than I expected, so glad I chose this one. They have such a unique menu unlike nothing I've tried before, can't wait to go back.

The flat iron steak was flavorful and tender. The sauces not only looked well but added some unique flavors. awesome meal.

This place is amazing! Try the watermelon salad, it's a fantastic blend of flavors. I had the lamb chops which were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service is great and the wine was an added bonus. Tucked away on first street, great ambiance too.

Food tasted delicious. We had the scallops and gnocchi and southern ragu. Biscuits were to die for. Service was helpful and prompt. Recommend a reservation because I can see how it can get busy. On the darker side in the evening and cozy.

Food was fabulous!! Farm to table . Very friendly staff and decor of restaurant epically rustic and stylish . Had the biscuit , Tennessee home made ,bacon and egg , over easy, sandwich. OMG , best biscuits EVER!!

The only photo I got. Haha. Delicious!! Crispy waffles with jam and Chantilly cream.

Everything was delicious! Service was kind and courteous, but not the fastest. I don't mean that in a bad way, I really appreciated not being rushed and the dishes came out as they were ready - so they were hot and fresh. Would happily come back for more, and I plan to, next time in I'm in Sanford.

This is a regular spot for us and a restaurant that you really need to visit in frequent. Chef Nat is a master of flavor in his kitchen and does an amazing job using his French culinary training with his southern roots. Some of our favorites on the menu are his Mac and tomato appetizer, the perfectly dressed blue cheese & black pepper salad, the Pan Seared Salmon, Shrimp and Grits, and a personal favorite, the Grilled Lamb. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and you always feel like you're coming home. Visit this amazing restaurant soon and don't forget to try something from their incredible wine and beer selection.

Another fun "2-3 star/5 star" review…read more First, you guys REALLY need to clean up the area at the back of the place...we park in the county lot after 6 when it's legal and walking in that way is, frankly, gross. 2 star worthy Asked for a Miller Lite. Out. Asked for another beer on the menu. Out. Now Maddie our server (6 star worthy) made it right, was super cheerful/"embarrassed" and bought me a bar drink to make up for it...so no big deal...BUT wanted the Big Fish...OUT. Wanted fish and chips...OUT. Two of your more popular dishes I bet...wth???? Now the FUNNIEST thing? Couldn't get our bill because...you guessed it...receipt paper for the printer? OUT. 2-3 star worthy. Now, what we were able to scrounge off the menu? Really good as usual. Enjoyed ourselves, Maddie and one of her colleauges (they seem to have had all the tables by themselves?) were uber friendly and fun and made us chuckle about the situation, and other things so we had a light hearted, nice time. (5 star worthy) But guys. This isn't normal. (Right?)

But ambiance doesn't cut it alone. Albeit only ordering two appetizers and two beers, the apps we ordered were NOT good. We ordered the 1lb mussels and the nachos with added beef. The mussels were in a butter garlic sauce with what tasted like white cooking wine or champagne(???) that was NOT all the way simmered, it was bitter and extremely sour. The mussel meat was all but ruined and swimming in this weird butter sour soup, basically drinking champagne with mussels. For $15, Easily 1/10 and not acceptable(stay away). The nachos which were $14 and for an additional $7(chicken) or $6(beef) they weren't terrible, but not great either. We got the beef add-on, and the beef was charred and dry, it appeared as if they just let the beef sit under a heat lamp for a few hours, it was black but didn't taste burnt. The nachos had some semi-dry cheese sauce with pico de gallo spread on top and came with a side of sour cream in a black plastic cup (which was fine). The best part about the nachos were what seem to be home made chips, those were quite nice actually. But because of the charred/dry beef it quickly became too salty. Portion size was good so maybe sharing with at least 3-4 people, not sure anyone would notice how salty it can get. For $20, 4/10. Our server was fine, at one point he disappeared for ~15-20 minutes when we were ready to close out but overall service was normal. The beer was also fine, nothing abnormal. Could have been a bit colder if I had to be nit picky. This was our first and last time unfortunately, had decent hopes considering it's in such a premier location in downtown Sanford. We will not be returning as there are much better options on this strip and if any would like to try them(based on this review) AVOID THE MUSSELS.

The people watching was excellent. Alexis took care of us. We had waters and menus right away. We decided on the purple reign and the welcome to the jungle. Both cocktails were fantastic. Our second round, we got the tableside smoked old fashioned and I asked for the hibiscus martini without the St Germain (because it would be overly sweet). Alexis was given authority to make the cocktail as she wished, given they have a staff cocktail which is whatever they wanna make, so I figured she would know what to do. And indeed it was fantastic. We decided to share the pork tacos. It's a two piece so it's simple. It was full of juicy meat and delicious. We cut the corn off the Cobb and enjoyed it. We opted for dessert- the vanilla orange creme Brulee. The sugar was slightly burned and it was not overly sweet. It was good consistency. It would have been better with a dollop of whipped cream - Alexis ran to the kitchen to find some but they didn't have any!!!! I think that's nuts. But I applaud her effort. We sat among regulars. They were very kind. Service was great. All three ladies at the bar helped us. We were never rushed and never ignored. We will be back.

I ordered a mocha latte and the server said they have chocolate syrup and she would try to make. It tasted good but I thought it was odd not to have a mocha latte on the menu. They had a good flavor but it was off to have that it served with a cold topping when you would expect the tomatoes to be hot. The lobster wonton were delicious and were served hot. For our meal hubby had eggs, sausage gravy and bacon. He said it tasted good. I ordered steak and eggs with potatoes. The only part that was hot was the fried eggs. The steak was luke warm and slightly under cooked served with cold under cooked wet potatoes. I ate some of the steak and took the rest home to cook it to medium rare. Lastly the crab benedict my daughter shared was not enjoyable. The whole dish did not come together well. The whole dish was cold. I am not sure I would return to this location.

Had to get bloodwork done at 6:30am, so afterwards we were close to here and craving breakfast, so it was a no-brainer to stop in here. Having been born and raised in Mississippi, I am always on the hunt for some good southern homestyle cooking and I for sure found it here. First, everything about the outside and inside of the restaurant reminded me of all the lil mom and pop restaurants I was raised going to. Great nostalgia for me. Now was the food going to live up to what the place looked like?? YES! So I went in craving breakfast and then what did my little eye spy on the menu? An open-faced roast beef sandwich and they service breakfast and lunch all day? Well, yes, please and thank you! Forget brekkie, I went straight for that open-faced roast beef with fried and all of it covered in gravy. OH MY! I'm talking this is the kinda food that (as we say in the Deep South) makes you wanna slap your momma! The bread was piled high with fresh roast beef. The fries were steak fries which are my favorite. The gravy topping everything was just the chef's kiss to set everything off! So many things I want to try on the menu, but I think it's going to be a while before I order anything other than that open-faced roast beef! Hubby had scrambled eggs, toast, hash (his fav brekkie food and he asked for it crispy - they delivered), and breakfast potatoes. He said everything was great and that it's the best hash he's had. I have never been a fan of hash, but I always try it. This has I would definitely eat. It was good. Can't say I'd order it myself because I'm just not a fan, but if this is the breakfast that was served to me, I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up at it. Anyway, two big thumbs up from hubby. Wheelchair friendly. Clean restrooms. Great service from our attentive and sweet server. Food came out very fast. I also much mention the Diet Coke. You know how some are just better from certain fountains? Yes, this was one of those cold fountain Coke's that was just so good. It really hit different. I ordered water as per usual because I try to not drink soda too much, especially while I eat, but hubby mentioned how good it was so, of course I had to try it. He was right. Very good indeed. If you are in the area, don't miss out on this lil restaurant. You will not be disappointed! The only negative thing I can say is they are only open until 3pm on weekdays and only until 2pm on the weekends. Guess that's a good complaint though. Major bummer as I am an iced latte lover so I settled for a cold brew which was decent. I definitely would have preferred a latte so hopefully next time I'm in Sanford, all systems are go. I also ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and requested the turkey option instead of regular bacon. I would have assumed the "turkey" option meant turkey bacon. To my surprise it was actually deli sliced turkey. While it wasn't overall unpleasant, I would have preferred turkey bacon given it is a breakfast sandwich. Would have given it that crispy element.
