    Chicken tortilla soup
    T B.

I placed an order for the the chicken tortilla soup I asked for it to be spicy. My order was placed at 8:26 pm i arrived at the restaurant at 8:49 but wasn't ready I until 9:10 pm. When I arrived back at work and opened the bag I got shredded chicken in a light red broth. The soup was very nasty with a Metallic taste. This was not what I ordered.

This is my go to mexican spot. I love their food, the friendly service, and the quickness of the service; and Chuy is always there to greet us with a smile and a brief chat. I typically eat the Arroz con Carne (ACC) and my son usually gets the Burrito Sinaloa with rice, which is what we ate tonight. The food, as always, is hot. Which is really good as you know it does not sit under the heat lamp for a while. I cannot recommend this place enough.

    Camerones A La Diabla

The food here used to be great before COVID. Now it is skimpy and basic. Camerones A La Diabla aka Spicy Shrimp. I was expecting a full plate but instead got counted shrimp and the shrimp and sauce didn't even have onions and was not sliced or hot in any way. The only thing good was the tea. The salsa was tomato sauce with a few peppers and not homemade and the green tomatillo sauce had too much lime and made it very citrus and sour. I will not eat here again. I'm very disappointed.

I ordered a burrito with shrimp, octopus, a whole poblano, avocado, shredded cheese all inside the burrito. I also asked for a lot of limes on the side. They came out after we took our order to go so he could check on it because he asked me numerous times about the cheese I wanted. I had said I do not want anything on top of my burrito and hate the liquid cheese. The person who made my burrito used the liquid cheese, similar to nacho cheese consistency on top. No shredded cheese inside. So they didn't give my bf his cheese sauce he paid for. My burrito was nasty. They didn't put a whole poblano, the first half of the burrito had a few small pieces of poblano, barely any octopus, no shredded cheese inside, they didn't give me any limes. I HATE this crap cheese sauce that "mexican" food places use in Tennessee. Legit Mexican food places don't use this fake liquid cheese. My bf said his nachos were good. Problem is.. I was on the toilet all night because of this cheese. I say this because it was the same cheese they put on his nachos and... he was sick to his stomach for the rest of the night and then he had his turn on the toilet.

My husband ordered five enchiladas each with a different stuffing. While delicious, unless you haven't eaten since last Thursday, who can consume so many enchiladas?! I shouldn't talk. The house special quesadilla -- always excellent -- is a lot of food. Ever resourceful, I took half back, put the chicken and peppers on a bagel and ate it for breakfast! (Note to self AND my husband: next time let's split one and maybe forego the steak and chicken. Chorizo and shrimp?!) Moving on, the salsa bar is great with smooth, chunky, mild and spicy salsas. That's not counting the warm bean spread brought to the table with their thin and crisp chips. Our margaritas -- $6 each -- are not only good but pretty, topped with berries and a flower. Here it is, Monday night -- not a typical going-out day of the week -- and the place is busy with locals. Pretty good testimony to what's become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

*KEEP IN MIND IM NOT FROM IN TOWN.*…read more We started with the house margaritas and the at-your-table guac, which was such a fun touch. The guac was super fresh and flavorful, and having it made right there just made the whole experience feel a little more special. The margaritas were strong (in a good way) and perfectly balanced--not too sweet. For the main, I got the deluxe burrito combo and it did not disappoint. Huge portions, packed with flavor, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients. Service was great, the vibe was lively, and overall it just felt like a solid go-to spot for good Mexican food and drinks. Definitely coming back.

For a unique spin, you're served a bean dip with the chips after being seated. The dip had a great flavor. I missed having salsa however and it wasn't until I asked that I learned there's a salsa bar next to the host stand. There they have both traditional red salsa and salsa verde. I preferred the salsa verde and the red was pretty thin. I ordered a hibiscus margarita to drink. They don't give you the margarita menu unless asked, but have a pretty good list. I didn't know at the time of ordering there's an up charge of $1.50 for a flavored margarita. I likely would have ordered it anyway, but would have been nice to know. For my entree, I did a combination of 2 with the enchilada suiza and burrito. Both were very good and I'd order them again. You also pick 2 sides. I went with the black beans as my bean choice. Nothing wrong with them, just ok in flavor and after also having bean dip, I didn't really eat them. I'm used to traditional Mexican rice but saw they had cotija Mashed potatoes. I'm a fan of contija cheese so wanted to try them, even though the server didn't really seem too impressed when I asked her about them. They were actually very good. A different option at a Mexican restaurant that I enjoyed. All in all, I would definitely recommend and return in the future
