Worse Mexican Iv ever had. Drinks are very weak and they can't make half the drinks on the menu. Service is ok. Ambience is nice. I will say that's all that's good. The food here is amazing. I personally recommend anything to do with chile rellenos or enchiladas--both are spectacular. Service is exceptional. My food has always been delivered quickly and politely. The pretty colors and decorative artwork combine with the groovy Latin music to immerse you into your own little happy Mexican world. Wonderful, authentic Mexican decor ,great music playing at right volume, I can talk to my family without so many hearing conversation. The food is quickly brought upon order ! Margaritas frozen with salt just right a small is enough for including a meal. The food is heat HOT no preheating just fresh delicious and quick to bring out! Good crowd daily between 5-8pm lighter crowds at 3:30-4:40 pm or after 8 pm except weekends tend to have heavy crowds, the back of menu has great meal combinations at gray prices interior menu higher prices for more unusual meals ! Tips are appreciated especially with such great hospitality! You enjoy don't rush soak up the great feel of a restaurant that caters to you and your friends and family. Everyone we run into in town keeps recommending El Charolais, so we know we had to give it a try. The food does not disappoint!! This place stays busy, but no worries if the main parking lot is full- you can also park across the street in a gravel lot. We were impressed by how many people could be seated at once in the restaurant. We came around 6:30 on a Saturday night, had to park in the gravel lot, but were still able to be seated without a wait. The peach margarita was fantastic- you could actually taste the peach- and my husband was ecstatic they had Coke Zero. (Most of Elizabethton only serves Diet Coke.) The food was great as well. Delicious, a great cost, and large portions. We ordered the Fajitas Texanas for two, and we still brought a serving home for leftovers. Service was a little slow; however, the restaurant was busy and most places are understaffed right now, so I'd say give grace as far as that's concerned. Decided to try out El Charolais for the first time last week for some takeout and I'm so glad I did. Ordered the three taco plate and my partner had the the enchilada sampler. Service was great and the wait to get our takeout was probably no more than 10 minutes which I think is very reasonable if you want fresh food. Got home and ate and we were both impressed at how good it was. Will definitely be returning. read more

We eat here pretty often and my husband always tries the different meats on the Mexican tacos. They also have two hot sauces they bring out to drizzle on the tacos. Last time I ordered the sope with chicken and it was great. I am glad in this small town they still have some dishes that are somewhat authentic. We went for lunch the other day and the service was friendly and crazy fast. We were probably seated and paying within 30 minutes. We order the salsa and chips to take for parties and other get-togethers because they are so good. The one thing I really do not enjoy about the restaurant is how my clothes smell afterward, but I guess that is part of the experience. read more
