Stopped after riding the beautiful Heritage Trail! Parked our bikes & sat outside. Nice day & fun to watch the wedding folks going into the Ironworks across the street. Nice selection of brews & drinks! Delicious fried pickles for an appetizer & pretzel bites were tasty as well. They came quickly. (Pickles are thick cut & only about 8 in an order.) Our meals were served promptly. My patty melt was great! Fries were crisp & flavorful. Hubby's bro burger was delicious he said. Friends 7 Hills salad with salmon looked wonderful & she loved it. Let me start by saying I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. My family and I were recently in Galena, Illinois and decided check out Dubuque, Iowa and some other museums. As we were out there, we had heard about the seven hills restaurant and brewery so we decided to check them out. First, let me say that there pretzel bites are out of this world, but that's about the only thing that I can say. The cheeseburger was practically raw. The french fries were saturated in oil to the point where my 10-year-old wouldn't even eat them and the bathrooms were so dirty that my seven-year-old didn't want to stay there. Worst of all is the incompetent cook, who wears no beard guard no gloves and is on his disgusting feces infested phone as he's cooking. This restaurant is a health hazard and should be shut down based on the lack of care from the staff the cook and the ownership should be highly concerned over the photos that are posted in this review. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! PS please look at the lovely feces infested shirts and rags that were there upon arrival in the bathrooms and there when we left 1 hour later. Great Atmosphere, good service, but the Cluck Berry was a swing and a miss. It was dripping with sticky jam, the flavors did not pair well together, and unfortunately, it was overcooked and near impossible to chew. We'd give it another go but order something different. Went to 7 Hills with some work colleagues for a couple brews and some dinner. Great service, brews, and food. As we sat down, I enjoyed a pour of Sticki Minaj, and it was a great! The description of the beer holds true, and I could pick up the flavor profiles well. A very full bodied flavor, if I had to put down two flavors I would describe, molasses and caramel. For dinner I went with the Bourbon Legend Brisket Burger. It was a good burger. I would have preferred the onions to a bit more caramelized, but overall very good flavors. Served on a toasted pretzel bun that was very good. The ale battered fries that came with it were very good as well, crispy and seasoned well on the outside, soft a pillowy, on the inside. Atmosphere was a bit expansive as there were not a ton of people there, but I would imagine the summer time the place is packed! I will go back when in town. read more

We always love coming here (from New York) each year when we visit family. Usually the food is great, but last night was so incredibly disappointing. Really bummed to leave a low review but it's in hopes that they make the change! The food was super dry, chicken was rubbery, burger was standard at best. Came here with my father and sister. Waited 10 minutes for water and at least another 10 before we could order. I ordered a Fun Guy burger without cheddar. The mushrooms looked anemic and missing gouda. The hamburger pattie was dry and over cooked. Lukewarm fries. The pickle was excellent as was the rootbeer. My father's burger was dry as well and my sisters chicken was very tough. Cute place, love the light fixtures that look like hops and I bet the beer is good but skip the food. read more

We were camping nearby and wanted to try a local dog friendly brewery. We decided on 7 Hills Brewing since it was near the river and I'm so glad we did. The food, beer, and server were all great. My husband had the Lobster Mac and said "this is the best thing I've eaten in a while". I had the Risk it for the Brisket and it was delicious. My only criticism of the outside seating is the flies wanted to share my meal. I might recommend they add fly fans to the tables. Local downtown area warehouse brewery with different types of beers. Sours, ale's, stouts and German style Weiss beers. The food was decent. Only had appetizers, but the Chilli, artichoke dip and cheese pretzels were good. The help was very informative, and she took care of us . They also had a decent THC menu for edible candy , gummies , and cookies! If we are ever out this way, we would try a full lunch next time with a nice hefenwize for sure read more

We ordered delivery from our Airbnb over Christmas. We left instructions for meeting that were followed, our food arrived hot, and the delivery driver was very friendly and wearing a mask. He even explained which beer in our 6-pack didn't have a label. I ordered the bayou goomah (Cajun pasta with shrimp and chicken) and bf ordered the whiskey filet with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and was seasoned well. The beers were perfect with the food as well. Our favorites were the nut brown ale and the cranberry. Highly recommend this brewery. I came here with a group of 12 and everybody loved this place. It is really cool inside and has a lot of character. Personally I don't drink however, everyone else loved the beer. They especially loved the flights of beer they have here. It seemed to me they had more fruity beer options than many breweries I have seen.... If that's your thing. The food was really good. I had the teriyaki salmon and would give it a thumbs up. The potatoes that came with it was pretty good too I was tempted to buy a T-shirt because of the cool vibe here - that is the kind of place this is. read more

The beer was really really good, we loved the Kiss & Tell, Hoptastic IPA, Blueberry Lemony Winks especially. The brisket plate was our first try and it was great. Stopped here on the way to Chicago for a quick bite so wasn't there very long. I just got the basic cheeseburger since that's what I was in the mood for. It was really good!! It is very greasy which I like but if you don't I'd say stray away from this option. The fries were also good as well. It definitely has a brew house feel. It's very open and they have cool seating and decorations as well. And in the family bathroom there is a very tiny toilet that I am assuming is for kids. Thought that was funny! They also have games to play as well. Service was pretty average. Nothing bad happened but I feel that they could be a little more friendly and attentive. It took a hot minute for us to get our bills and there was hardly any other customers in there. Overall though I had a good experience and would definitely come again if I'm in this location in the future! read more

My meal was the "meat sweats" which is a bbq tray. Really nicely done. Chicken, shrimp, pulled pork, brisket, beans, and coke slaw. So good. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Fun and funky brewery with limitless creativity both in the kitchen and in the brew houses- a great place for a beer and a burger in downtown Dubuque! We love local brewpubs, and try to visit a few on our trips. This one looked great on the website and on Yelp, so we decided to stop by. So glad we did! Great atmosphere, lots of cool brewing art and anyplace where you can see the brew house from any angle is a plus for us (recovering home brewers). I had the seasonal cherry wheat - so crisp, delicious and refreshing after a long days drive from Chicago. Burgers were all very creative, but I chose the goat cheese and berry compote burger because it was the most unique! The berry compote was. It a jam but a tangy berry sauce with ice paired perfectly with the goat cheese and balsamic vinegar in the burger. Fries are made in house and done perfectly. The Beer Mac and Cheese was deliciously creamy BUT be aware - it's also fairly spicy with little flecks of jalapeño. I loved it, but my daughter who can tolerate NO SPICE AT ALL could not eat hers. More for me!! One note about the dessert: the berry "cobbler" is actually a CHEESECAKE - bring from the south we were very confused when our berry cobbler dessert arrived. It was very good - but not at all what we were expecting. Super cool atmosphere. We enjoyed the community style tables, although we weren't sat next to anyone while we were there. Had a great selection of beer. We had 2 flights so we could try different styles and weren't disappointed! We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was amazing. We also got a burger and a sandwich, which were both delicious. Forgot to ask the waitress they had any stickers (we collect them from our brewery travels) so we asked the hostess and she said they only had sticker sheets for $5 but if we bought anything from the gift shop, it came with a larger logo sticker, so I bought the sheet but then she couldn't find any of the larger stickers she promised so that put a little damper on my experience. Not only was the beer great but so was the food. This restaurant perfected both, and the staff was the nicest staff too! We visited at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area and it did not disappoint. It's a really neat building and good location, looks to be an older building that had been gutted and made into a cool brewery and restaurant. Very clean and spacious beer-hall layout. Our waitress was great, even keeping her distance from the table while taking orders. The service was quick, the beer was good, and the pizza was fantastic! The personal pizza is 10" and was really pretty generous on toppings. I had the chicken bacon ranch pizza and my girlfriend had the club sandwich. One of the staff members also dropped off two bottles of house made hot sauce for us to try and it was incredible! The tropical one was not very hot, more sweet but was my favorite. The other was a mango habanero that was tasty as well but had a bit too much of a kick for me! I will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

My family and I stopped here on a Wednesday afternoon while visiting Dubuque. We were staying across the street in the Novelty Iron Works Building, so 7 Hills was super convenient. We were the only guests in the place and ordered a beer and several flights. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Our waiter was super friendly. We didn't order any food, but the menu looked really good and covered all bases; meat, vegetarian, fried, pizzas, burgers, salads, etc. My brother was really interested in a tour of the brewing operation, but the Brewmaster was apparently too busy to show us around. 7 Hills has a German beer-hall feel as it's an open floor plan on the inside. We saw lots of guests dining outside during the week. Recommend if you're looking for some fun local beer. read more

We are traveling across Iowa and decided to stop in Dubuque. Always looking to try local craft beer we tried 7 hills. We ate outside and had a nice view of the old buildings dot the street. I had the "pumpkin poser-porter" and was not disappointed. It has a robust caramel flavor with pumpkin spices. The chicken wings (cooked dry) were excellent,with crispy skin.
