    Insalata Di Mare

Hugely disappointing. This spot was recommended by a foodie friend of mine, and now I'm doubting his cred. Maybe 7 Numbers used to be good or maybe we caught them on a bad day, but that wasn't a good. We got: - Insalata Di Mare: Small portion, a bit too sour, yet was the tastiest of the dishes we got that night - Merluzzo: Cod that was all by its lonesome. Literally just cod and sauce. I get they have a sides section, but at least put a few veggies or tell me this dish is just literally a piece of fish on the plate so I can decide. Maybe my fault for not reading the description thoroughly, but was surprised by this. - Lasagne: Saw lots of rave reviews. I don't know why since there was nothing outstanding about it. Tasted homemade, but in a regular way. Sorry 7 Numbers. Maybe my expectations were too high, but won't be back.

They have a huge patio which is great for summer. Service was good even though they were swamped. Loved the complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Was super soft. Appetizers were decent - we got the burrata and the warmed mushroom salad to share. The salad was nice but felt quite small for the price. The risotto and meatballs were enjoyed by the table. The gnocchi came in a really large portion. Was a bit disappointed with the lasagna as it didn't come with the crispy top layer so it lacked a bit of texture. The fried peppers were a delicious addition to all the pasta dishes though. They offer family style as well but our group wasn't hungry enough for that. They have a fairly big menu with many options so we would come back to try family style one day in case we just happened to pick a couple of the dishes that weren't our faves.

    Involtini dish (steak wrapped asparagus)

Mix a little romance with authentic Italian cuisine. What more can you ask for ? Splendid meal in a warm, candle lit venue. If you're looking for a new date spot 7 numbers should be high on your list. We had a mix of dishes including the Portuguese sardines and burrata to start. I had the penne which was cooked perfectly with a sauce to die for (creamy pesto and tomato). My dining partner had the steak wrapped asparagus (Involtini) and we shared a platter of the brocollini. I cannot get over how amazing the sundried tomato's are with the burrata dish. They are sweet cherry tomatoes with that pop of juicey freshness yet somehow still taste sundried. Confusing but delicious. I could eat the burrata as it own meal. Amazing. All of the dishes were 5/5 except the deep fried Portuguese sardines which had an aftertaste that was slightly bitter 3/5. Service was attentive. I will certainly be back. Highly recommend this gem on the danforth.

We wanted to step out during quite a busy afternoon in the office. We needed a kind reset. It was a cold day but sunny. Shall we risk the cold fall day? Heated patio? Yes, well not entirely they have 1 heater but unfortunately you are still kinda exposed to the elements. However thats ok i have a blanket. We ordered pasta vongole, polenta with sausage, goat cheese and sugar and fried calamari. The food was excellent. The price was also quite reasonable. Its a southern Italian style food. It was served on beautiful plates. The calamari was ok. The polenta was great and the vongole was amazing. It was the best one we've had. I could've had nowhere plate really. It was that good. The part about this meal was the service. He was attentive and very friendly. He had us laughing. The gentleman was quite personable. This place is one of the few Italian restaurants in the sea of Greek restaurants. The service stood out. One thing I've missed during this pandemic. I look forward to visiting this place again and I really hope they find a way to be able to continue to serve on their patio. It is one those food you need to appreciate at the restaurant itself.

    Duck skewers

I came here for Winterlicious with a group of 6. The ambiance is very intimate and cozy with their dimmed lights and vintage decor. The restaurant is small and narrow and hard to walk through once the dining area fills up. We sat at a high table at the back with the full view of the restaurant which was nice. To start, I ordered the spiducci (duck breast skewers) which was good but a bit dry and tough. The sauce that came with skewers is actually what made it tasty. I also tried the arancini (rice balls) in marinara sauce and I was a bit disappointed - I've had better arancini take out at Pizza Libretto. Note, every entree comes with a choice for a side dish. For the entree I tried the pollo parmiagiano (chicken parm) with a side of green beans and the portion was massive! Albeit it tasted like one big chicken nugget covered in cheese and tomato sauce, it was delicious. I also tried the pesce del giorno (fish of the day) which was cod with a side of chick pea mash and it was also great! Super moist and perfectly cooked. Lastly for dessert I tried the key lime pie and upside down cheese cake. Out of the two I definitely enjoyed the cheese cake 100 times more than the pie. The cheese cake was whipped so light and it wasn't overly sweet and the texture of the graham cracker sprinkled on top created the perfect contrast. Because we were a group of 6 we were charged an automatic gratuity 20% but the servers were very attentive and overall, food portions were huge and every entree came with a large side dish as well. I had a great time and the food was good.

I will say that I went when I wasn't feeling so well (it was a bday dinner) so I can only tell you a little bit of what I ate. I had the "sexy duck leg" and it was a meat that melted in my mouth. So succulent and juicy.... Wow. Also it was my first time eating radicchio - it looked like purple lettuce but thicker. Not a fan of this vegetable. It was bitter and I really wasn't expecting that. People did say this is what the vegetable usually tastes like so that's no fault to the chefs. $18 My friends all enjoyed the penne and the apps (calamari, rice balls and burrata). Again my stomach couldn't handle it but they cleaned up the plates! Great ambience. Friendly staff. Food coming out was a little slow but it happens when it's a Saturday night. Oh, and get the key lime pie. Damn it was good.

    Seriously. Get some toner.

Food delicious! Hence the two stars. Service - terrible. Waiter had no idea what was in anything. Didn't even know what gin selection was. Worse - didn't even offer to find out. Also - what's up with the lousy menu print job? Step it up folks.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

There were four flights of stairs to get up to the first floor with the bar and main dining area. There was another two flights of stairs to get to the upper bar (which I was too tired to walk up to). The drinks at the bar were good and the staff were all great. We started with passed apps. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.

This is a wine bar - the house lager was bad (maybe my own bad decision) and the red I got was fine ... nothing to write home about. The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand! This place has amazing potential with the location and vibe - but the food just was not it. Small portions and the price didn't match what was served. The service was friendly but nothing too crazy. Our server was great at helping us pick our wine, he mentioned that their wines are all on the dry side which is perfect for me, I'm not one for sweet wines. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

Bartender only checked on us once, when food came out. Hard to get their attention too. Food, however, was amazing! Love the savory giant meatball and the rich San Marzano tomato-based marinara sauce, with dab of pesto and plenty of fresh basil. Loved the sauce was not too acidic and pasta cooked perfectly, not al dente. The focaccia bread comes with this rosemary garlic butter, and it was absolutely delicious on focaccia. For the main dish we could choose from gnocchi, salad with salmon or another dish which I can't recall right now. Dessert was ice cream which I also couldn't eat. The gnocchi was very mediocre. I didn't enjoy it at all. I hadn't been here in years but I see their food quality hasn't gotten any better. I was starving by the time the main dish came out so I ate about a quarter of the dish. Then I took the rest of the gnocchi home. Service: The waitstaff were really nice but the service was not very organized. There was a lot of appetizers but I couldn't eat most of it. Which is strange because I gave my food allergies several days in advance of the meal. It took some time to get the main dish as well so the pacing didn't seem great. I looked around at the other tables & we got our main dishes last. I'm not sure if the kitchen was at fault or what. Ambiance: It's quite dark here even on the lunch hour. The decor is dark wood tones, red upholstered banquette seating & wooden tables & chairs. It's not a fancy place. I would not choose to eat here again. Last time I went was several years ago. Sadly I see they haven't gotten any better. There are other better Italian restaurants in this area.
