We used to love this place and have spent thousands over the past year. I wish I didn't have to rate it so low, but things seemed to have changed in the past few months. Our lab had been going since he was a puppy. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body--family, friends, and strangers have commented on his sweet disposition. 7 Paws even told us he plays with dogs others won't play with. Needless to say we were surprised when they twice claimed he was aggressive with another dog. He's never displayed ANY aggression and they couldn't say what happened or why. Besides, many times he came home with scabs and it never was a concern of theirs then. There are also no webcams available to the public. It left us questioning the staff's level of training and the level of supervision overall. After the second "incident", with no previous warning, we got two differing stories from different workers on what to expect for any future visit. I wish I could say this was the first time we received mixed messages. We reached out twice for clarification--no response. I was shocked when I next picked him up and found he was in a room the size of a closet for the whole visit. He was crying, desperate to go outside and do his business, and based on how much water he needed was very dehydrated. If they replied with clear details and he was clearly in the wrong, I'd be calling our trainer to work on the issue. But no communication leaves me wondering if there isn't a good explanation. After that last visit I worry they just don't care. I guess we'll find another place that does. read more

Jen and her team are phenomenal! I've been bringing my dog here for 5 years since she was a puppy both for boarding and doggie daycare (literally 5 days a week). They know her so well and have always kept a close eye on any concerns. I think they know her vaccine schedule better than I do. Beyond that, I've had to board her for several extended trips and they done everything from administer medicine to tracking her bowel movements. I couldn't speak higher of them and hands down recommend their services read more

We love bringing our fur baby to 7 paws a week. He is in excellent hands when he comes to play all day. He can hardly wait to play with his dear buddies. The staff is excellent and truly care about their families' fur friend. They know the campers (dogs) well and truly do a great job of making sure every pet has a wonderful experience. We have been taking our dog here for a little over a year now. Our dog Penelope seemed to enjoy going there until recently. When we would walk in, an employee would greet us and take our dog to the back area to play but I noticed when certain employees were working, Penelope reacted negatively. My dog is a friendly, very excited to see you kind of dog, that still thinks she's a puppy, even though she's almost 5. When most employees would walk up to her and take her to the back, she would jump up and lick them with excitement, but there were two employees she did not respond to this way. One of the male employees doesn't seem to be a dog lover whatsoever and is obviously not happy working there, it is quite apparent. So I assumed that Penelope's reaction was related to when these employees were running the doggy daycare. I then started to notice that Penelope was not visible in the back area where the dogs play when I would come to pick her up and started to question this. I was told a couple times that she was playing but taking a break from playtime like most dogs would do. So yesterday when I went to pick our dog up with my daughter, I again went to look in the play area to try and see her ( this area has a small darkened window that makes it difficult to see in. ) but I did not so I started to question the employee about where Penelope was. This point he told me that my dog had been put in a kennel, or as he termed it, penelope was in her "suite." I then asked him why this was and he said, "Didn't the owner tell you that this is where we have been keeping her ?" Of course my response was no and I explained to him why would I be paying $40 a day to have my dog put in a crate when I can do the same thing for her at home ? I am outraged that I was not told that this was what they were doing with my dog when I was bringing her there for the day for playtime & exercise. I have requested a refund for the 10 or 12 day doggy day care package I purchased for my dog to be put in a cage. read more

For 30 bucks they deshed, bathe, trim nails and sometimes squeeze my pug's butt. not a bad deal at all if you ask me. I used to take my pug to Petsmart to trim his nails and it would cost $14, so to me, this is a great deal! It usually takes 2 hours to do all of this, and they require you to pick up your dog immediately after they call, so make sure you aren't busy when they call. Rachel does a great job with my dog every time I bring him here and he always looks forward to coming here. Last time we walked in the door and he just ran right to the gate to go to the back to get his bath and he never really cared to get a bath at home before, so that says a lot. So try this place out, you won't be disappointed. read more

My Sadie has been going there since she was a puppy and now going on five, she still loves the place. The people that run the place are very good with dogs and you can tell by the way your dog acts when she or he comes home. Sadie takes there door down to get in with the other dogs and she can open doors also, so she is a happy camper at 7Paws and that makes me happy. read more

Do not take your dog here. Unless you want your dog yelled at screamed at grabbed by the collar and thrown in the back so they don't have to deal with your dog anymore. Multiple times going to pick up my dog all I hear is cursing yelling and screaming at dogs. The owner could care less she's a part of it too. All they do is talk shit about one another I've heard that multiple times too. Do your self a favor and stay as far away from This place as possible. No dog should be yelled and screamed and cursed at like that. I will never be going back there again. read more

I just wanted to thank Jen for going above and beyond for our dog Maya, who is a 7 Paws a Week regular. We recently took our dog to a daycare facility that was out of state and needed a quick recommendation. She didn't hesitate at the unexpected request and was able to turn it around in a few minutes-all while dogs barked and romped around in the background! My dog goes nuts whenever I tell her she's going to "play with other puppies." She needs the company and exercise. Love the videos the staff puts together everyday. Had to go back because it was my first time and they didn't do what I wanted. But afterwards my dog looked great. Maybe it's just this location but they ask for tip which I thought was unnecessary being a $60 grooming. They allow you to come back with in 3 days if you want to make any changes. Also nail cutting on Tuesdays is only $5. read more

Hi, I hate writing a negative review on a local business, but I feel I need others to know my experience. I had my 2 dogs stay there for the weekend. When I walked in, the place smelled so bad. If I hadn't had a choice I would have turned around and walked out. They were let out in the exercise area once per the person I talked to on the phone because they were to freaked out. I asked if there was a separate area for small dogs. There was not. The person we talked to when we picked them up said she took them with her in the back while she cleaned so that they weren't in the kennel the entire time. One of my dogs got kennel cough. 158 dollars. Thirty extra because when the kennel cough became apparent they had to fit her in an emergency slot. I called Seven Paws to let them know that my dog got kennel cough and the man I talked to said it couldn't be them. I stopped him in his denial. I told him my dogs had not gone anywhere since the kennel. No where. I also asked if they could take a picture of my dogs and either send it to me or post it. No picture. Very disappointed read more

I'm so glad I remembered to leave this review. The owner/groomer is super nice. I dropped off my two girls, and I decided to run some errands before work. I was supposed to drop them off earlier, but I was running late. So I automatically assumed that it would take forever to get them taken care due to the fact that she mentioned other client drop-offs were now ahead of me. Amazingly enough, they still were both finished super duper quickly. I also truly appreciated how she followed my verbal notes to a T, and kept them together/separated from other dogs due to the fact that one of my girls has anxiety with other dogs. The efficiency was on point. Oh!-and there's a $5 discount if it's your first visit. I'll def be bringing my baby's back. Just wish they had a restroom for clients:(. read more

Wow! I brought my puppy here every 2-3 weeks for grooming and paid $15-$25 every time. Today... I go to pick up my dog and I am informed that the groomers have been charging the wrong price and it will be $49! I was then told by Stephanie that she does not need "price problem customers"! My dog goes to the groomer every 2-3 weeks and never comes in a bad condition. I was also told that if I don't pick up and drop off my dog as soon as they call I will be charged for daycare. However, I can't plan for the time because they would say she would be ready in 1-4 hours and never give me a time. I was very happy with the groomers and loved the experience until today. Stephanie is not friendly and I am very unhappy with the customer service that was provided today. *** side note.... This is the worst groomer I've ever been to. They employ local kids that don't know what they are doing. We made an appointment to bring our dog in for grooming and when we arrived they didn't even have it listed as an appointment in the computer. After we had traveled all the way accross town the girl working behind the desk siad she would call someone and then told us the appointment had been cancelled. We had to rearrange several different appointments to make this happen. Honestly don't waste your time with this groomer. Everyone that works there appears to be incompetent and uninformed. I wouldn't take a pet flea to this place! If there was a negative star rating I would have given it to this establishment but unfortunately yelp does not allow this. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else anywhere else would better!!! read more

We need to be out of country for few months and have to board our 3 yr old lab Tommy who has been hyperactive & not trained or socialized with dogs.When we were searching for boarding most quoted high and few asked high advance payments, finally spoke to '7 Paws a Week' who didn't try use our situation, after talking to Jen we were very happy that someone finally talking only taking care of our dog rather than $$$. Next day we dropped Tommy here without any payment & return date. Jen & her team took great care of Tommy for 2+ months, they kept the boy very happy, posted pics of Tommy on facebook and happy to talk us anytime when called from other side of world. Tommy was sick once, they took him to the doctor, at times he was not comfortable in kennel & Jen took him to her home and given excellent care for him. Usually when we board Tommy in near by hospital lodge he lose weight and energy but surprisingly Tommy on return didn't lose weight and energetic which showed how much he enjoyed his stay in '7 Paws a Week' . We would like to thank Jen & her team for taking care of Tommy above & beyond and highly recommend this place for Dog care. read more

My dog loves this place! I bring her in about once a week--twice in winter when she's not getting enough exercise from me. She can't wait to arrive and is exhausted when she gets home. The staff makes sure to give her breaks during the day so she doesn't overdo it. Weekdays that she doesn't go to them, they come to my house and walk her mid-day--what a great service! The groomer Rachel is very efficient and treats my dog with care. Ourbbabybalwqys comes home looking happy and clean and pretty after a session at 7 paws a week. We have had no reason to be unhappy. Made an appointment for grooming with liz,after waiting a week arrived and was told she didnt have time.i told her i made an appointment and explained the grooming i wanted and she said i dont know who you talked to but im too busy today. Also told me she cant give a short haircut unless she shaves my dog .this is a lie! I have had my dog cut short more than ten times by other groomers without shaving her,i guess she cant be bothered .rude attitude,didnt give a crap !take your dog somewhere else.i wouldnt trust her with my dog with an attitude like that!!!! read more

Called to see if they could squeeze my dog in for a wash because she rolled in something in the yard and they were able to fit me in. The price was good for what they did for her...wash, brush, nails, ears, conditioning. I used to go here before but I stopped because of how the old groomer treated my dog but I'm pleased to hear that they are under new management. I will be coming back here again whenever my dog needs her nails cut or a wash. read more

What a fantastic place! Doggy Day Care is awesome, but the boarding is fantastic, and I can't say enough good things about the grooming! We've taken our digs to many groomers (both are stinky breeds), and no one else has gotten them to smell so clean AND get their white spots so white! Being a local, independent business is the icing on the cake....but seriously, this place is great, and everyone working there loves our dogs, and at the end of the day that's exactly what we all want. read more

I decided to bring my dog in for an "evaluation day". The guy working behind the desk barely cracked a smile and without explaining anything first- comes around the counter, takes the leash, and starts walking her towards the back. I had to stop him to get an explanation of what he was doing. She's never been to doggy daycare before and is extremely nervous in new situations. Never was a positive word said- he just literally dragged my dog to the back and stuck her in a kennel surrounded by loud noisy large dogs. In my opinion, not the way to acclimate a dog to a new somewhat scary situation. Because of this lack of care, I won't be using this facility. If you have a dopey dog that doesn't really care where it goes- sure, give it a shot. Maybe it was just the employee working at the time, but it definitely didn't leave me with a good feeling. read more

I sent my dog for basic bath. Price is good. They charge based on weight. They wash him clean, not fancy though. They left a lot of undercoat of my dog, so I have to brush him myself after I took him back home. The other place I sent him for bath, they did better job (thoroughly dried, brush undercoat completely), but more expensive. So what can I complain. One thing I don't like this place is the smell. Don't know why it smell so bad. There should be shampoo smell since it's a place for bath. But no, only bad smell of dogs.... read more

Our 2 year old beagle, Reese, died due to the negligence of the workers at this facility. We had been bringing our dog to 7 paws for a year previously and he loved it. My husband and I left the country for 9 days and boarded our dog here. Our emergency contact got a call on day 8, two days AFTER the incident that our dog had escaped the facility and was unfortunately hit by a car. When we returned to the country, we were told that an employee had not latched the back gate properly and decided to take out the trash while all the dogs were also out taking a potty break. The owner said that her employees were not watching the dogs. this facility does not have a second safety gate, which is standard at most dog parks and day care facilities. the owner could not even tell us for sure how our dog escaped because her workers were not truthful about the story. The owner told us the incident happened on Saturday but infact we had a voicemail from the Hoffman estates police dept that they found our dog on Friday night. We were told that a few people were fired due to this incidence and that a new latch was installed and given compensation for our dogs cremation. The fact of the matter is that the owner does not hire trustworthy employees, the security is not up to par, and this is not a place where you can trust that your pup will be well taken care of. There are clearly no security cameras, there is no safety gate, and the employees are irresponsible. We lost a family member and all we got back from this daycare was an apology and a check for the vet. We have been taking our pit-mix, Knox to 7 Paws for almost 2 years and he absolutely loves it! We are incredibly happy with the staff who truly show care and love for Knox. Knox nearly jumps out of the car every time we pull in and he is always excited to see the friendly and loving staff. Knox has become such a great dog because of the socialization that 7 Paws provides. They are flexible with our work schedules and are always very accommodating when we need it. We love that they post photos on Facebook so that we can see all of the fun that our pup is having. We highly recommend 7 Paws for anyone to try out! read more

I cannot say anything better then they are FANTASTIC!! I started taking Joey to 7 Paws when it was under the old management. Joey loved all the girls and I was so afraid the staff would change! Lucky for me they are like a family there and everyone stayed and even more employees were added. I had gone to a day care with Joey when we lived in McHenry. He was fine, but never showed any emotion about going there. Well, now I have to make sure I don't say "Do want to go see the doggies?" on Sunday nights or he goes wild. He is played with at home and there are many dogs in the neighborhood, so I know it's not out of boredom that he can't wait to go, it's out of pure joy knowing he is going to have a great day with his pals! From the time I start driving there, until he claws at me to get out of the car and into their door he's the happiest dog in the world! He could care less when I turn and leave! Anyone who owns a pet knows that when they are happy we are ecstatic! I could go on and on to assure you that I would not lead you astray, but once your pet goes, you'll know that every word I've said is true! I love love love the people there and so does Joey. I have been taking my pup Sulu to 7 Paws for several months. The staff is always courteous when I drop off and pick up, and my dog loves every one there. He scratches at the car door to be let out when ever we pull up in front of the building. They screen all the dogs in daycare so I feel safe that he will be safe while there. They have even been patient the few times I was running late to pick him up. I also use them for grooming. The prices are fair for the quality of service (he is a poodle and the breed requires more care), they do a great job, and it is incredibly convenient since they groom while he is at daycare. My favorite part about 7 Paws is how consistently they post pictures to Facebook during the day so you can see how much fun your pup is having. I definitely recommend them. read more

If Bane loves 7 paws I love 7 paws!! 7 Paws a Week is a cage-free doggy daycare. They offer grooming, boarding, training and much more. My 7 month old pitbull puppy has been going to 7 paws since he was 3 months old. I have boarded him multiple times and I love it because they always put pictures and videos on there facebook page and I get to see him playing. I take Bane to daycare when I have to work long hours at work or on Saturdays when I wont be home all day. I love it because ill go pick him up and when we get home all I want to do is relax and so does he, he lets out all his energy with his furry friends at 7paws. So happy I was able to find a place close to home, that I can take my pup when im not able to spend time with him. Bane loves all the employees there and makes so many friends. it can get expensive but that's why they offer packages if you plan on taking your dog there frequently. I wouldn't be able to leave my baby in his crate for more then 6 hours. THANK YOU 7 paws for loving and playing with Bane as if he were your own furry kid. read more
