Always love trying a New Mexican restaurant especially being so new to Georgia. Our kids brought us since it was one of their favs and would frequent it when they lived in Cumming. It's located in a small strip mall, and from outside it looked small, but walking inside, it is quite large and beautifully decorated. Plenty of parking in the lot. After our hike at Swanee Preserve, a margarita sounded yummy with lunch. Upon entering, I loved seeing the decor and the overall look of the inside plus they have a side enclosed patio which on that day, a couple had their dog with them in the patio. I assume that is one of the reasons for them patio. Plus it seems the plastic windows are most likely rolled up on a nice warmer day. We were seated in the bar area (see pic) and soon after our waiter arrived. Our kids ordered the chunky guacamole. Unfortunately it had way too much many tomatoes and not enough avocado. They thought maybe because avocados are out of season. The chips were yummy, not too thick. They come with a red salsa and a darker salsa which is warm in temp. It was super yummy! I've never had warm temp salsa in any Mexican restaurants back in California so I was surprised by it. We ordered our margaritas and decided on their small which was the perfect size; however, they do have a much larger size and maybe next time. I believe they were poured from a premixed machine or bottle, not entirely sure but they were very tasty and a nice blend of alcohol. My hubby and I ordered the Burrito California without queso and the red sauce on the side (hubby can't eat seeds) (see pic). Very good flavor with lots of chicken. My daughter ordered her the Steak a'la Mexicana (in video) and it was scrumptious; however, it wasn't anything like the menu description but she enjoyed it and it was a huge piece of steak! My son-in-law also enjoyed his Burrito Mexicano. All-in-all, a very enjoyable lunch. The ambiance is lovely, really great Mexican music, beautifully decorated and very clean. My daughter said the bathrooms were clean. Definitely a favorite of mine. Can't forget to say our waiter was great as well as friendly & attentive plus our food came out timely and hot. read more

Always friendly and prompt service here at 7 Tequilas Cantina! Beautiful decor of paper flowers hung from ceiling in main dining area. Large covered patio. Solid menu choices typical of what you find in most Mexican restaurants like this. We sometimes sit at bar to watch TVs. Always interesting to watch the wait staff carry the HUGE margaritas to tables. I think weightlifting skills might be a job requirement for this place. I came by to pick-up an order I placed over the phone. 7 Tequilas is located in the Midway Family Festival shopping center. Plenty of parking. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the following: Steak A La Mexicana $14.99 Tacos Al Carbon (steak) $12.99 Taco Salad (beef) $7.99 Burrito Especial (beef) $8.99 When I walked in on a weeknight, the place wasn't busy but there were diners. The restaurant was a bit dark, and to be honest, it didn't look very clean. There was't a host/hostess present, so I walked over to the bar and informed the bartender that I was there to pick up an order. I was in and out in a few minutes. The steak plate came with Sirloin strips cooked with jalapeños, tomatoes, and onions. It's served with rice, refried beans, and a strip of fresh Mexican cheese. The Al Carbon tacos came with three tacos, steak or chicken, and served with pico de gallo, sour cream & guacamole salad on the side. The taco salad came with a large crispy tortilla shell filled with lettuce, shredded chicken or ground beef and beans covered with shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. The burrito came with one chicken or beef burrito topped with cheese dip and served with rice and refried beans. All of our orders came out as described. They were warm and the portions were generous. None of us could finish our food. We all enjoyed it, no complaints from anybody. Prices are very reasonable. read more

I am so glad this restaurant has indoor seating during COVID! Several Mexican restaurants in the area only do pick up; no dining in or outside. This is me and my wife's favorite Mexican restaurant in Cumming! I always forget to ask our server if there is a specific name for this salsa, but they have the darker salsa that is served slightly warm. It is absolutely delicious! I have to control myself from eating all the chips and salsa because 1) it's so good and 2) our meals haven't even gotten to the table yet haha I typically get their Chicken fajita quesadilla which is a very big meal! Comes with rice and beans as well as lettuce, Pico to Gallo and a scoop of guacamole. It's hard to fully explain the taste of this quesadilla in words, but it is INCREDIBLE! I've had this dish at several other Mexican restaurants, but none of them compare to this one here. I think what makes the difference is that they add mushrooms to the fajita quesadilla. (If you're not a mushroom lover, you can ask for it either on the side or none at all). It's hard for me to stray away from ordering this dish because it's just that good in my opinion! Definitely worth a try if you're wanting to try something new, but familiar. Every time my wife and I have gone here for lunch or dinner the service is always quick which is appreciated because we have a little one as well. I just find it ridiculous to up charge nearly 4 dollars for extra chips to finish our queso and salsa which combines is already nearly 13 dollars. Good food here and ambience, and We've been going here for quite a while. Got duped by our waitress last night though. Ordered our normal house frozen Rita's, which are normally really good. The waitress manipulated the situation by saying the frozen may be out so asked if wanted hand made just in case. She repeated the " just in case" She brings us all on the rocks Rita's and doesn't bother to say the price will be doubled, if not tripled. They weren't out of the frozen at all. We noticed everyone around us getting theirs frozen. We thought the price was the same until she brought our check. Over $52 for a couple drinks that were extremely watered down. Never again! This made our bill more than double what what we normally Pay here. Three adults meals that were $11.25 each and a small cheese dip, all less than $40, turned a dinner bill into nearly $100 before tax and tip were even added. We sat down to have a nice family meal. None of the outdoor fans worked. The margaritas tasted like lemonade, and were way over priced for the lack of quality. (Ice was melted and ingredients were watered down). The fajitas were not cooked at all, the vegetables were essentially raw and the meat tasted rancid. My sons chicken nuggets tasted like they were fried three times just to be able to be served; concerned about the quality of their meat. To top it off, my 8 year old son found a used tampon applicator next to our outdoor dinner table. Was looking for a nice night for our family and was beyond disappointed and disgusted. The only minor saving grace was our server (Santiago) was friendly and kind.
