Bought a car I should've done a PPI on, but you live and learn. It was only a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted peace of mind by getting a thorough inspection of the vehicle. After dropping it off, I got a call the next day from Joe asking to FaceTime me. He showed me everything they found wrong with the vehicle. It was mostly basic maintenance, but I really appreciated that he took the time to show me and explain what was wrong. One of the items ordered was spark plugs. I approved everything on the list, and the spark plugs came in around closing time. It happens. I asked if I could come by and pick it up since most shops are closed on Saturday, and they happened to be cleaning the shop that day. Joe said yes, which, again, I really appreciate. After having a really horrible experience with our last mechanic, I asked my brother if he could refer me to someone. He said "yes, 714 Auto. Joe is a great guy!" So we brought it in to 714 Auto, Joe kept it for a 1 day and a 1/2 because no error codes were showing on his sensor, and he wanted to keep it to wait until the codes came up. The never ended up coming up, so he said to come pick it up and didn't charge us a dime!! A greedy, dishonest mechanic could've charged us out the ass, and we would have been none the wiser!! I was looking for a local auto repair shop who could diagnose a transmission leak. I discovered this place from their consistent positive reviews. I spoke to Joe who is super cool and he cares about getting your car fixed right. They diagnosed the issue which looked to be a leak from a new axle/seal that was just installed from another shop up the street. Joe, Keith (a veteran in the industry) and John showed me the part in question and suggested to make sure they installed the correct axle. I took it back to the other shop and they installed another brand, so hopefully the problem is fixed now. The team at 714 really know cars--like a craft--versus other shops that may be struggling finding good technicians where you never know if your car was fixed right. I trust these guys and happy to have found a great local mechanic. Joe is the only person I trust to fix my cars! I was recommended to him by someone I trust a lot, and he immediately became someone I trust. Being a young woman, it's always nerve wrecking taking your car somewhere, worried that a place will try to upcharge you or add on unnecessary things. I have never worried about this with Joe. He is so good at explaining things to me ( I have little car knowledge) and letting me know when things need to be done immediately or if I have time before needing to fix something.
