This place is completely untrustworthy. We brought our Mustang in after it started overheating, and without doing any real diagnostic work -- no compression test, no head gasket test -- they immediately said the engine was basically done. After we mentioned we were planning to sell the car, they suddenly offered a $1,100 "fix" that included replacing the spark plugs, two engine coils, and an oil change -- just to make it sellable. Not a proper repair, just enough to patch it up and pass the problem on to someone else. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of the situation rather than help. We took it to another mechanic who gave us a proper diagnosis and confirmed they were way off. Would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, professional service. read more

Worst SCAMMING mechanics in South County! WILL NOT RETURN and not recommend! Caused over $2000 in damaging my Jaguar SUV. If you don't know how to fix a car don't take someone's money and lie about it. Would not compensate for the damage he caused on my car and said JAGUAR Dealership was Lying. Went to Marty to check on my Jaguar ABS brake sensor. He told me he had to order part from dealership to replace. After it was replaced, car was still not running and recommend I take to dealership. Took my car to Jaguar dealership and showed me in person that Marty had shaved off my ABS sensor to fit part that they replaced. The sensor he had replaced also looked like after market and did not look like Jaguar parts. He caused over $2000 in damage to fix. Called to complain and ask for a solution. Excellent, quick, inexpensive service and friendly staff! I brought my car in because something under my car was scraping the ground, and my A/C needed recharging. They told me it would take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to finish, ended up only being 1 1/2 hours. They not only performed the services, but they also took the time to explain to me exactly what they did, and were happy to answer all of my questions. Marty worked on my car, and was very helpful and friendly! He explained to me that my AC unit would only need a recharge if it has a leak, and they added a dye to the Freon so when it leaks they will be able to find the leak. I liked them so much that I brought my Wife's car in a few days later. She had gone to a Valvoline to get her oil changed and steering fluid refilled, and ever since then her car would squeak loudly in a way that sounded like metal on metal scraping. It would happen when she brakes it, or even when she would turn the when it works start squeaking. I explained this over the phone, and Marty immediately knew that the Valvoline worker just accidentally got some oil on the belt. Marty looked under the car, and we were in and out of the car in about 15 minutes. Call them to make an appointment to make sure they have time, and they will get you back most issues quickly, and explain what they are planning to do, and will call you to let you know when they have updates. Thumbs down. Never go there. I had the hoses from the washer tank to the front and rear wipers replaced for my 2023 Kia Sportage because rodents chewed them. It cost me $230 with parts and labor, but the washer tank is still leaking water. When I went back, the guy told me he only fixed the hoses and that's all he was responsible for. He even said the problem might be with the tank and refused to do anything else. What a joke! If I take my car in for a leak, I expect the whole system to be fixed, not just part of it. At first, he only fixed the front hose, and I had to go back again for the rear hose. Now the tank is still leaking. Totally unprofessional and not worth your time. read more

I've taken my car here a few times due to the good reviews, sadly my last visit will by my last. I came in for some bogging and they said it needed new spark plugs and an air filter. After getting the tune up, I went home and installed the air filter myself, and when I opened the hood I was greeted with all 4 of my old spark plugs.... Luckily I even opened the hood of my car!! These could have easily fallen off and gotten into the engine and it would have been catastrophic. Don't come here for their lazy jobs unless you want your car ruined. read more

10/07/2022 I went Mission Auto for 3 things on my 2019 BMW X3 for: 1. Change air filter 2. Change transmission fluid and the result is 1. MISSING SCREW It took me 3 times to visit them onsite before they can get the right part for my 2019 BMW X3. Each time a waste of my time even though I have called them upfront. After the change of the air filter, I found that one screw of air filter housing was missing (Didn't mentioned at all), once opened it's super dirty. It's quiet clear that they didn't even install it properly since the dirts are all concentrated on one part of the housing. (See picture) 2. FAKE JOB After 6000 miles, I decided to try the transmission fluid change myself since the jerky transmission did not improve after the fluid change at Mission Auto. It appears that the oil refill nut was so tight that it doesn't look like being cracked opened ever. Moreover, the fluid extracted was very dirty with particles in it. Anyone who knows how AT transmission works will not believe that the fluid has changed 6000 miles ago. I HIGHLY SUSPECT THAT THEY DID NOT EVEN PERFORM THE FLUID CHANGE. note that the transmission runs perfectly smooth right after my DIY fluid change, unlike Mission Auto's job. To summarize, this shop is terrible because: 1. They lied about the change of transmission fluid. 2. They cost me so much time running back and forth just for a right air filter 3. They lose a screw and did not even mention to me (See picture) 4. The inner side of air filter housing was so dirty (See picture), suggesting either intentionally or unintentionally lousy installation job I asked for some very basic maintenance and it failed so hard. My insurance tried to go there and they would not direct them to my car or provide them any information. Fast forward, while MY CAR WAS IN THEIR POSSESSION, my hybrid battery got stolen. I have a strong suspicion that it was them who stole it bc they suggested that I just report it together with the catalytic converter claim. That would be convenient for them...they steal a part of my car and my insurance pays for it. Except now I have to pay 2 deductibles! ALSO, They left my car UNLOCKED while it was on their premises. Not great - called aheadtalked to Rob very friendly had a simple task replacing secondary fuel filter on my 2020 f250 diesel - just need plastic clips removed and drop in filter. Disabled vet with neck and back problems just killed getting on ladder more than happy to pay 1-2 hours labor - rob seemed con fused over difference of estimate and quote - was not willing to g to accept time and material offer which is his right - then his little typical short man with a tude stepped in clearly not understanding my problem stated my rig would not fit on his lift - tried to explain not necessary all work on top you need ladder to reach clips- he said more to it and need special fuel line tools he did not have My only thanks to these guys is they pissed me off and I went home and did it myself took over an hour I need many breaks- no tools needed just patience What ever happened to customer service ? While the work required was done, communication was not a priority. Rather than calling to keep me informed of status, I needed to call. It was implied same day turn around when I dropped my car off but wound up taking 2 and 1/2 business days to complete a task that was to take an experienced mechanic 2 hours. After being told it would be completed the next morning, and promised a call first thing, I had to call again only to find out my car had been ready for almost 2 hours. There did not seem to be any concern for "let me get the customer their vehicle back in a timely manner" and when asked about it, told me that 2 1/2 business days for a 2 hour job was timely. DO NOT GO HERE!! DO NOT TRUST THESE CROOKS! The owner Rob and his henchman, Marty are the worst of the worst. I had my wife's Toyota Prius brought here after the catalytic converter was unfortunately stolen. First red flag: they gave me a rough estimate of 6800 dollars for a catalytic converter, and asked me to submit it through insurance, but told me there was a high chance that the car may get totaled. Marty had pulled up a website showing part costs of about $6800, so I took their word for it. About 10 days later, I received a call from my insurance adjuster that the shop has been unresponsive to calls and would not allow them set up an appointment to assess the damage to the vehicle. I contact the shop owner Rob on a 3 way call with my insurance company, and he said he would not speak in front of the insurance company and asked me to call him privately. When I did call him, he stated they moved the car out of the shop and left it in his parking lot. A day later they discovered that the car had been gutted on the inside the the Prius hybrid battery had been stolen. He said they couldn't fix the car, to have it towed elsewhere as it no longer runs, and that they were NOT liable for any theft, especially since it was in their parking lot. I immediately contacted my insurance carrier to explain what had happened, as I wanted them to see the damage that Mission Auto Service did to our car. I received a call a few days later from the insurance adjuster stating that the shop was the most unprofessional he had ever dealt with. They refused to show him our car, and would not allow him to do his job. The insurance adjuster stated that he had to find the car in the lot himself, and the doors were all unlocked. At this point, I went to the shop myself, and asked Rob why he wouldn't let my insurance adjuster see the vehicle and he had the audacity to tell me that no insurance adjuster had even come!! He is either a bold face liar or a truly that forgetful that he should not be in business. He stated that he needed room in his shop, so he moved the car outside where it was broken into on Jan 2. I had never been notified about this until a week later, only after insurance contacted me about him being unresponsive. He continued to claim the car was broken into by "professionals" although there were no signs of forced entry anywhere near the car. In fact, I had a child seat in back seat that was carefully removed by the so-called "thieves" so that they could remove rear seat assembly. ALL DOORS WERE FOUND UNLOCKED while it was in an outside parking lot for who knows how long. Rob and Marty's story of events kept changing and was never consistent. Even if the car had been broken into in their possession, I would expect them to contact the vehicle's owner immediately to explain. Their dishonesty with both myself and the insurance company leads me to believe that either the sor someone they knew stripped the car themselves as they thought it would be totaled in order to sell parts for extra cash. We asked him for his shop insurance information and he would not give it. Please see the pictures for yourself and see whether you would trust your vehicle in his possession. We unfortunately did trust this shop and our vehicle was destroyed in their possession. These crooks should not be in business. read more

I went to mission auto to have my engine diagnosed. That's where I met Rob and Marty. They were very nice to my face when they said it would cost a thousand dollars to take care of the issue. They explained what needed to be done and it sounded like they knew what they were doing so I agreed to hire them for the service they recommended. After one day the check engine light was back on. They said it was probably one of the spark plugs they replaced saying that happens sometimes and no charge to replace it. So I had them do the same thing again and it took another 4 hours but at least it wasn't another charge, but it didn't work as the light came back on. Marty the technician said I should add some kind of oil to treat the valves but I took it to the dealer who found that there was a crack in the valve and valve seat. I went back to Mission Auto and explained to them what the dealer found after their assessment and asked for a refund since they never truly found the problem and charged me for the diagnostic and repairs. They denied any refund. I think if you are a repair shop and diagnosed the problem and charge the fix that never fixed the issue you don't deserve the money. Within about an hour I get a call that my oil drain plug was stripped and asked if they could drill it out, for a higher price. I of course said no. They couldn't continue the job. Yesterday I took my 2018 Honda Civic Sedan in for an Oil Change, filter replacement and a check on my AC. My car had been blowing hot air for the past few weeks and with summer just about here I needed a recharge or possibly more. Fortunately, this place will check your AC for free! Free apparently costs an arm and a leg though. I left my car there at 8am and got a ride back home. Around 11am I got a call saying the oil change was done but they wanted to know what else I was there for. I told them "oil change and a check on my AC, it's been blowing warm/hot air". Guy says to me okay well let me call you back in a few minutes. Okay... Guy calls me again and tells me I have a battery leak. that's fine stuff happens. Looking at my car I can see I have calcium build up and needs to be changed ASAP. Then he breaks the news on the AC. He tells me that they can check if there are any issues with my AC but first he needs to recharge it and the Freon that I need apparently need costs $700 to do so with service! Cause he says they have the only machine in Southern California aside from dealers to do so. He also says that because this car is newer it requires a more eco friendly Freon. My jaw is on the floor. "$700?!" I say. "Yup, I know it's a lot and then if there is an issue with your blend door actuator that could be another $200" I tell him don't touch anything we'll just do the oil change. So I pick up my car and start looking into at home AC recharge kits. Turns out google is your best friend. There is a lot of instruction on how to recharge your AC and it sure as hell isn't $700. Autozone has a small kit for $150 and I was able to recharge my AC no problem at all, took me maybe 10 minutes. I don't know if the guy thought I was stupid because I didn't know my Battery was leaking or if he feels like he can just rip people off because it's almost summer and it's getting hot. My trunk latch on my Audi broke and I was quoted parts and labor when I brought it in. I was told the labor estimate was for 1 1/2 hours. When the part came in they called me and I brought my car in. I stayed in person to see how long it would take and the mechanic had it fixed in 10-15 minutes easy. The owner still charged for for 90 minutes of labor even thought I saw it get fixed in no time. When I mentioned this to him he tried to tell me his workers are just faster than everyone else. This obviously makes no sense. The owner had a chance to make good and charge me the appropriate amount for the labor spent. Even charging me only for an hour of labor would have seemed somewhat fair. He decided in the end not to budge so I will make sure they never see my business again. I will also steer my neighbors away from this place. read more
