I took my car for a second opinion, my car was overheating and I had been told it was a water pump leak issue. The owner told me it was NOT a water pump leak and recommended close to $1000 of other work to fix the issue. I proceeded based on other good reviews and when I called to pick up my car the owner told me he had done the work and now there was a water pump issue and would be at least another $2500. I was very frustrated and took my car back. It appears they are not able to diagnose issues properly, I would not recommend. read more

I really appreciate the people over at Brady's! The owner took me in at a last minute time when my car broke down on the freeway I had AAA tow me over there and the owner was really friendly and let me sit while they analyzed why my car stopped working. Once we got it figured out he shopped around for the part we needed and gave me the price before starting on any maintenance I called around to see if I could find the part cheaper (which I could not) so I agreed on the price and he kept my car over night (because I came in about an hour prior to them closing) and the next day as discussed they called to tell me the car was done and ready for pickup. My throttle body unit has broken and they fixed it I haven't had any problems since and it's been two days :) thank you so much to everyone at Brady's read more

Brady has been taking care of my vehicles for over 18 years! He is the best mechanic in Orange County and he is honest and fair. His repair skills extend from electrical to overall engine repairs. If the repair is not his expertise, he will refer you to a specialty mechanic (i.e. transmissions, suspension, etc.) who is also competent and fair. The best thing about his service is he lets you know what needs to be addressed immediately and what can wait a bit if it does not need to be fixed right away. He gives you an detailed quote for the work to be performed and he uses quality parts. His shop is clean, inviting and he can usually finish most repairs the same day. I had an issue with my engine about 10 months ago and I took my car first to Brady Automotive to have the car looked at and get an estimate. Brady looked at the engine, did a few tests and listened for a few clinks and then diagnosed the problem with the engine and told me the car was likely totaled and had been headed that way since before I'd bought it a month earlier from a private seller. He quoted me a price on the repairs and didn't seem to jerk me around at all about it. I had taken my car elsewhere because I found a cheaper price for engine replacement; however, Brady was very polite and helpful and allowed me to leave my car there overnight until I could get it towed out and didn't even charge me for the inspection! This is high-class service and honesty up front. Should I have an issue with my car again and need quality repairs (not engine replacements), I will definitely take it to Brady's and I recommend you do the same. read more

Got a '90 Toyota 4wd beater pickup. Our old mechanic (okay, my stepbrother) left the country. When we didn't pass smog last week, we took the truck back to Brady. He discovered that the hoses to our smog system were "switched" and must have been this way since bro did the head gasket. I went to Brady's after shopping a couple of other local repair shops. For the same work, they charged me less than half the other quotes. In addition, I asked them to take a look at other maintenance items. Aaron looked and showed me where a couple of my belts were cracking. A simple and inexpensive fix. When I picked up the car, Aaron had looked over a few other areas explaining that there was no further work needed right now, but pointed out a couple of other things that will need regular maintenance attention in the future such as breaks (50% left on the front and 80% left on the rear), timing belt (in another 10 to 15K miles), etc. . All of it was reasonable, clearly explained and shown to me. He even took pictures of of the work he performed on his phone and showed me everything. It is refreshing to find an honest and reasonable mechanic after taking a bit of a bath at another auto repair shop in Aliso Viejo on Aliso Creek road. I will definitely return to Brady's and recommend others to them whenever possible. Thank you! read more

Kevin's probably the nicest and most honest auto shop owner I've ever dealt with. I had a busted power window button on my 2013 VW GTI (broke weeks after my warranty expired, of course), and when I brought the car in (because Kevin gave me a really good estimate), he called VW to make sure that my warranty had in fact expired, and after finding out that it had, still insisted that I check with VW first to avoid unnecessarily spending money on repairs. It's rare to encounter a business owner who, for the customer's sake and at the cost of his own business, sends the customer away. If anything, most of the business owners I've met recently have been too eager to exploit their customers for every last dime. Anyway, VW wasn't much help, so I came back, and Kevin was able to get the job done quickly and well. Glad he's around, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs auto service. read more

I'm so happy we got referred to Brady's by a friend. I'd been dealing with another place a few towns away with a power failure issue on my Mercedes. I'd been towed already 3 times when I brought it to him. He figured out the issue on the first visit... Oh and fixed my key that i thought was completely dead too (which even the dealership hadn't bothered to fix). Also, even though its not his specialty, he's been taking care of my boyfriend's Saturn too. Today, after making an appointment for breaks based on an un- named "lube" location's assessment... Mr. Brady informs him he has over 70% left on front & back pads and doesn't need the breaks done. Talk about honesty. I had my breaks done not long ago by him, and the price was the same as the "cheap" place I'd been going... He's excellent, fair and trust worthy... The only reason I haven't rated Brady's yet is because I just signed up for Yelp today. But when I did I knew who I was going to review first. I've taken my cars to Kevin for about 5 years. I found his shop after 5-star reviews on both yelp and another site's List. There's a reason why Brady gets 5*. It's because he knows what he's doing and honest about it. By way of example, he found evidence of a rodent living in my engine compartment. Rather than sitting on the information and charging me $1,500 a year from now in chewed-through wiring he recommended I go to Walmart and spend the $3 to get rid of the problem now. As long as Kevin has his shop I will be taking my cars there. read more

I am new to the area and I had no idea where to go to get my brakes fixed, so Yelp helped me pick Brady's Auto. I called first and they had no appointment, but 10 minutes later they called me back and said they had a cancellation. Perfect. I met the owner Kevin who was very professional and honest. He gave me options for my truck and did not try to sell me anything I did not need. They have a great little wating area where you can sit and actually get work done, with free WI-FI.
