I've been using them since I moved into the area for all our service needs. We have two German cars - you can decide which two brand you think I have - but they service them ALL. My family has been trusting our vehicles to Gary for years and years. Amazing service and most of all, honesty! They spent hours searching for a sound I occasionally heard. From my own research I believed it to be the wheel bearing which they agreed was most likely it. I was fully ready to pay for this expensive repair on my vehicle but after they spent the entire morning inspecting and testing the vehicle, they did not believe this was the issue anymore as there was no sound during the inspection. They called me back to the shop and said "they didn't believe it was the bearing and to bring the vehicle back if the sound returns". I pulled out my wallet to pay for the inspection and he just handed me my keys and said "we didn't fix anything so why would I charge you". In disbelieve I started to walk to the car waiting for him to say "just kidding" and tackle me. This kind of customer service, honesty and integrity is unheard of nowadays. But they did gain a customer for life! To give an example of typical shops. South County Lexus (not typical but high end) assumed ball joints were causing some shake in my Lexus. They charged me $1500 for the repair and an oil change but it didn't fix anything. I believe they knew they didn't fix it because they said " if it still shakes a bit you need hub centric rings for your wheels" which I got but the problem remained. So I basically paid $1500 for an oil change and a loaner car for a day. read more

Was doing a multi-year preventive to get my 2005, 190k mile Durango up to snuff for a long ski trips future. Had a scare of a possible head gasket leak due to gunk on inside of oil filler cap. Got a diagnosis clearing a hydrocarbon leak into the coolant, and a recommendation not to pull the heads but rather to try a coolant sealer treatment. $300. Beyond, was told that my warped exhaust manifolds could be examined and possibly fixed just by replacing broken mounting bolts. They had been broken since about 2009! And a prior mechanic had given up in 2012 :( A factory quality issue on these hemis. Got the car back with fixed bolts. What a relief not to hear that clack clack noise on startup anymore. Also had water pump replaced, plugs replaced. So...got about 19mpg at 80mph on a 1400 mile r/t to Utah. I feel confident in the truck (it sounding smooth again is a confidence builder!) I will be going back when I need more service. I felt consulted every step of the way (granted that I live close and dropped by twice). I felt they were aiming to fix real problems, that needed to be fixed, in the most cost effective way. read more

This place was so wonderful, I got a quote through Yelp and they responded quickly and promptly providing me the next available time slot. I easily booked with one click through that link and went in the following week. My car needed the front bearings replaced and it was SO LOUD like an airplane. They were so great, got the work done quickly and didn't try and bother me or pressure me to get anything else done as its hard enough these days to pay for the minimum we need. They were so kind and friendly, I will 100% be back for any work that my car needs. Lastly, it was just the husband, wife and son running this place and they do great. I am very picky about mechanics, I don't know a lot about cars but I do know about having a good mechanic. I had the same mechanic since I started driving and my mom used the same mechanic for over 30 years. So when I moved from Azusa to Mission Viejo, finding a good mechanic was on the top of my list. I tried a couple before I came to Cabot Auto Services and found my new mechanic. Gary & his staff are honest, helpful and great people. They don't try to rip you off with prices or things you don't need. Is it crowded, yes but that's because they are so good and trustworthy here. It's worth the wait. I usually try and call ahead and see what day would be good to bring it in and then leave my car or my husband's car there for the day so when they can get to it, they get to it. I rather do that and know that the mechanic working on my car is reliable and knowledgeable then go to a empty place where my car will be done quicker. read more

They have worked on our GMC, Audi and Porsche Hybrid. They even helped figure out our next car, a Mercedes, which they will also be taking care of when needed. These guys run a super-clean shop and their workmanship reflects the same ethos. My regular, hometown mechanic couldn't do the job, and I'm so glad to have been referred here while traveling. Rarely do I write reviews, but I felt compelled after doing some car maintenance at Cabot. Wonderful wonderful honest people run this place. Went for a standard oil change; the guy helping me out did all the maintenance checks, pointing out certain things that might need some work after a certain number of estimated miles. He was pretty honest in saying I had a problem with an axle, but wouldn't need to do anything for maybe another 3,000 miles or so - and he knew I wasn't from around the place since I had told him I drove cross-country there. He even told me how to change my own air filter on my own without paying any more money for future maintenance! read more

Since my first time to Cabot Auto, I have been back twice and would give them 10 stars every time if I could. First, my clutch burnt out leaving me stranded at midnight after work. I had it towed and used their overnight drop. I left my key with a note about the problem and got a call back first thing in the morning. They had it back to me the next day running smoother than ever and ended up under their original estimate. A couple of days ago, my brake line ruptured suddenly and I barely got it there before they were closed for the day-and I mean by barely 2 minutes. I didn't have to worry about feeling rushed because they are SO nice. They really took the time to listen to my concerns and small talk a bit while they have it a quick once over before I left. I knew it was tight scheduling, but I asked if it was possible to have it done the next day because my work schedule stars at 4:30am and I didn't want to inconvenience my fiance by getting dropped off more than was necessary. They made it happen without even a question or an ounce of hesitation. I simply will not take my car anywhere else. Period. read more

First of all I don't write many reviews, but the word needs to get out they are fantastic. I entered the lobby and Gary was super friendly, he took a quick look at my car as I explained the problem. He quoted me a good price, I know cause I got another quote previously. He took my car into service right on the spot, ordered the parts and his wife drove me home!! And to think we were 30mins late.... Gary and his wife still welcomed us. I needed to get my truck ready for a two-week adventure in Baja. I told Gary to look at the truck thoroughly because I was going to be traveling solo in the middle-of-nowhere deep, remote Baja. I basically gave him a blank check and completely trusted him. He looked it over and said I only needed an oil change and a brake job (both of which I already knew I needed). Gary is very nice and professional. You can tell when talking with him that he is honest and trustworthy. It's really nice to have a mechanic you can trust. There is barely any parking spaces & I almost got hit by two cars in their tiny driveway area (one being their tow truck guy) he saw me pulling into a space and took the spot for himself. The office was packed.. although there were only 3 people waiting for one person to get off the phone. It was chaos & I was only there for ten minutes. I stood there and waited to speak to the assistant but the line was so stagnant that I left. I was not greeted or simply smiled at. I don't see how this place has 5 stars. read more
