So disappointed! Our group of six went to dinner last night and ended up having to wait over 40 minutes for our steaks. ( The only thing that came quickly were the salads.) The final straw came when when tables that were seated after us received their meal before we did. All of this with two very hungry children. Thankfully the manager stepped in, brought complimentary appetizers to our table while we waited. Ten minutes later the meal arrived. Only two steaks were cooked correctly, but no one was willing to wait any longer. Thankfully there was a good manager because our waitress basically abandoned our table. Service was extremely slow. Took over an hour and a half to get our food (restaurant was about half full) 2 people ordered their steaks medium. One came out rare and the other well done. Both were sent back, the rare one came back slightly over rare and the recook that was well came out rare. The Mac and cheese was the blandest Mac and cheese I've ever tasted, it's basically cheese and pasta flavored with water (just cause you put bacon in something doesn't make it good). Server never refilled the waters or drinks (he might have came to the table 3 times the entire time). The mai tai came out missing 3-4 of the ingredients listed on the menu (the manager had another one made and came out perfect). Only reason it's not a one star is because the managers were very on top of it and super polite. It's unfortunate the servers and cooks don't take pride in their job like the managers do. My husband and I dined here during restaurant week and everything was perfect! As homebrewers, we love that they made their beer on site and every one we tried was delicious. For an appetizer, we split the duck rolls which were very unique and enjoyable. I got the scallops which were cooked to perfection and my husband got the pork chops which were perfectly moist. The desserts were also fantastic, we got the praline cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter cake. We can't wait to go back and try a few more of the beers and more items off of their menu! read more

A nice enough restaurant with good service, but the food was just standard. I had a petit filet and the meat was tender but not flavorful. Also had creamed spinach, but could not see any cream and again was not flavorful. The martinis were good. Might try again if my friends want to. read more

this is a tough one because if I'm comparing to what's available in the area it's going to be 4 to 5 stars but if I am comparing it to going out to a nice dinner in "anytown" probably three stars customer service is an easy fix and it's been a repeated issue. Cant they just teach the hostesses to pretend they work at a nice restaurant, stand up straight and smile and not stare blankly and possibly tell the servers how to recommend wine to at least know a little bit about the wines...? And not run up to the table and interrupt your conversation all rushed, every time! and never check on or fill drinks... These are easy fixes. It's just training. but we're pretty rural here and this is where people have to go. If there's any competition theyd have to tighten up. The medallions were good, the food is pretty good. Nothing to write home about. Good enough to warrant being a decent steakhouse. Area around the restaurant is super charming. Bathroom always seems clean. read more

This is a hidden gem!! Never disappoints. The food and service has been top notch on every one of our visits.

I'll admit at first I was a little aggravated when I first walked in and seen the amount of open tables and was told it was an hour and a half wait. Once the hostess checked around they accommodated for a table of 6. Had to wait about 30 minuets but once seated the food made up for the wait. The bruschetta was really good and so was the fire cracker shrimp. I ordered prime rib which was really good. The rest of the table orders was really good also. Kids didn't leave anything on the table once done. Only reason for 4 stars is I like more crust on my prime rib. read more

Another couple and my wife and I ventured out to Mt Pleasant last Saturday night to eat at 73 and Main. The first thing you notice is the noise. This is not a place to come for intimate or casual conversation. The next thing you notice is that they are understaffed. You figure that out by how long it takes to order and get served - drinks, appetizers or dinner - or bread - or small plates to share appetizers. The food itself was ok but not worth the hassle you have to put up with to get it. Maybe it was just a bad night? I was here once before prior to Covid times and it seemed better back then. What a great little addition to the Mount Pleasant & Cabarrus County community. Loved the ambiance with fresh flowers, real candles, and dark wood everywhere. I decided to celebrate my birthday here with a party of 10 and the service was great. Our waitress and waiters were very professional, personable, and sweet. They even wrote me a birthday card and chatted with us about non-food related things. We started with the ahi tuna appetizer and it was pretty good. I prefer thinner slices with a blackened pepper seasoning, but this one was still good and a generous portion size. Firecracker shrimp appetizer was also amazing, and comparable to Bang Bang shrimp at Bonefish, except this place does them way better in my opinion. Not as spicy as bonefish but the shrimp are bigger and juicier. Me, my mom, and sister all ordered the crab stuffed trout, and me and my sister both really liked it, however my mom was not a fan and said the texture was too mushy for her. This is true, it was a little on the mushy side but I thought it had great flavor, it wasn't fishy at all and had nice big chunks of crab in it. **i do wish that it had a little more of the lemon sauce on it though** it also comes with all the skin on it, which I don't like, but it peeled off the fish extremely easy, so it wasn't a big deal for us non-fish skin eaters. I got mine with a side of the southern style potato cakes and they were THE BOMB! My mom and sister upgraded to the Brussels sprouts and loved them, however, I was not a fan. I love Brussels sprouts, but I think they add sugar to theirs (which I don't like) and they could've been a little more roasted. My dad was not a huge fan of his filet. He likes it super rare and his had been cooked too much, but we later figured out the staff had just accidentally mixed up the plates between him and my husband who had gotten his medium well. They also brew their own beer here and have a great local craft beer list, cocktail menu using local distillery's, and wine selection. I would definitely come back! read more

We stopped on the way back from N.C. Zoo for lunch. Black and Blue Burger w/fries... Black Bean Burger w/fries...Kids Pasta with Butter...Kids Chicken Nuggets (Supposedly Fresh) w)fries...and a Spinach Strawberry Salad w/ Grilled Shrimp. Adult food came out first..five minutes later Kid's Food! All three sides of Fries were just barely warm. Kid's Nuggets overcooked and dry. Spinach Salad was barely a handful.. didn't even fill up the bowl! Possibly Two Strawberrys sliced, maybe Ten small pieces of Sugared Pecans, didn't find the Red Onion until I got to the bottom of the shallow Salad Bowl (15 pieces of small diced), Eight Grilled Shrimp COLD...the Dressing was good. Fries got refired as well as the Chicken Nuggets. Finally decided to call over the MOD. Explained everything to her and said the Chef should know what's going on in his kitchen. I really enjoyed this place. 1st time here for my birthday dinner. The delicious crunch of the peacan crusted coating on their salmon gives great balance to the texture and flavor of the fish. On top is a tasty sauce that pairs well with it. I enjoyed red skin mashed potatoes as my side, but they have several to pick from. I had a few drinks from the menu, the cherry lemon sundrop was my favorite. You will love it, no question. I really wanted cheesecake for dessert but they were out. Maybe next time. read more

This is our fourth time to 73 and Main and tonight was our anniversary dinner. We were greeted by Traci - every time we have been there she is there and she is lovely! She checks in with all of the tables and makes sure everything is perfect! Tonight was no exception! She even gave us a tour of their whisky bar and outside patio area. Tonight I got the filet Mignon again...and it was cooked to perfection. The service...hands down the best! Thank you Kaley!! (Sp). My husband was impressed by their bourbon and whiskey selections, opted for an oldy but goody from a day in his past "Old Crow" and Anthony, a co-owner came over to serve it. With a reservation we waited 45 minutes to be seated. After ordering we waited an hour for our food to arrive at our table. The food is Way Over Priced and was cold. I had the Lump Crab Cake... tasted like chicken with a twang lol. It looked like shredded chicken and was mushy and cold. My husband had the prime rib, cold as well. Unevenly cooked, some were very bloody red while other parts were close to well done. The prices do not match the quality at all. We will not be returning and if you don't want to waste your money on bad food I would suggest you don't go... But hey, with the party of 10 we were with, 1 person liked their food. We have visited 73 & Main many times. Tonight's visit was a big disappointment. The wait for our food was over an hour. I don't mind this as we didn't have anything to do after. When our steaks arrive, both are supposed to be medium rare. They were in fact very rare. When the waitress came over after a bit, we let her know . They took it away and put it back on the grill. When it came back, it was very well done. Wouldn't be upset if it wasn't for the fact we spent good money on steak that we didn't even eat. The steaks were not very well seasoned. We booked the Boardroom for a 50th Wedding Anniversary dinner for our family. To say it was great is an understatement. Jannette, the Event Coordinator was very helpful from the start. The event was held with everything presented just as planned. Sierra, the young lady assigned to take care of us did an outstanding job, and the food was outstanding. This place is very good! My husband and I went here a couple weeks ago and we really enjoyed it. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were great. We had never been here so we tried a lot of different things on the menu. They had had a busy weekend so that Sunday night they were out of 3 of their popular steaks..no biggie. We had the shrimp cocktail to start, which was good..for dinner my husband got the prime rib..it was huge and perfectly cooked to med rare. I had the ribeye and that too was cooked perfectly to med rare. We shared a few sides and that's when things went down hill fast. The brussel sprouts were BARELY cooked and the creamed spinach not only lacked flavor but came out cold..they were quick to reheat it but it still wasn't very good. My husband also ordered a crab cake add on...horrible, absolutely disgusting..no flavor and it tasted like raw flour..an abomination to crab cakes everywhere. We also shared a wedge salad and had one small tomato and a few blue cheese crumbles on it..for 6$, I should get more than a quarter of a head of iceberg. All and all the atmosphere, service and steaks were on point!!! Delicious!! But their sides weren't good at all..but we will be back in hopes that they work on them....oh..I completely forgot..who ever makes their cheesecake should get an award..hands down the best I have ever had!! read more

Use to be my fav place.. in the last year or so the service hasn't been the greatest... they try.. but there's something missing. Literally waited an hour and half for our food tonight. By the time the waiter brought me my steak knife I had already finished the steak and just used a butter knife. Wanted some steak sauce.. couldn't get the waiters attention.. it's the little things.. I've talked this place up a lot to people and other than the good atmosphere and pretty decent drinks it has fallen into just another spot I won't go out of my way to eat at anymore. But if you're ever passing through Mt Pleasant stop in for a beer, it's worth it. read more

Ordered the shrimp cocktail and was served a drink glass so deep you couldn't dip the "shrimp.". Shrimp was horrendous...hard as a brick and smelled off. Ate one and sent it back...by the way it comes with lettuce stuffed in the glass that has no use. Ordered the "King's Cut Prime Rib.". There was nothing "Prime" about it. When making reservations at this place be sure you record the conversation because they were rude to our party about our specific request for the patio. We were told no problem but we would be sharing the patio with another group and we said fine. When we arrived a table was set in the main room facing the sun and loud as hell. That was the reason we didn't want the main room! We complained to the manager and she became very rude! We asked for her manager and he couldn't help us because he was working the kitchen and never came out to talk with us. This group of ladies waited for covid to settle down (18 mos) before we went as a group to eat. Our night was ruined! Couldn't speak to each other because it was so loud and had to wear our sunglasses thru half our visit and the manager was rude and could have cared less about out table. It's been about 4 years since I've been to 73 & Main, I had come for my birthday with my parents and friends. They put us in a nice private room behind the bar. Nice big table for me to open gifts on. It was a great experience and great food. So I was quite surprised to come back here the weekend after Valentine's Day, seeing as our favorite restaurant had a kitchen fire and was still not open yet. But I was surprised to see the menu has not changed at all, they still have very little options available. Especially for appetizers, so we skipped that whole option. My wife ordered a burger with a side of chipotle, fries and the famous bacon mac & cheese. They must have changed the recipe for the bacon mac & cheese apparently because it doesn't look anything like what I've seen in pictures on this review site. I got the 16 ounce aged ribeye, and a loaded Baked potato and grilled asparagus. The Potato was under cooked and nothing special. And my steak was overcooked, I asked them to make it Medium Rare and it definitely came out medium. I didn't ask for a new one because it took a while for the food, even though we were the 2nd couple to arrive at open. And by the Time we got served, the restaurant was getting full. My wife only ate half of her burger and told me that I could have the second half tomorrow for lunch. Whenever a bit into the burger, there was a bone that must of gotten ground up with the rest of the beef. I didn't realize it was there and Bit down on it Several times hurting my teeth very much. I can't say that I'll be back to this restaurant ever again unless they make some serious changes. read more

The atmosphere is open, airy, and very spacious even when abundantly occupied. Buffet - Palatable but Disappointing Based on recommendations of friends, I made reservations for a 49th wedding anniversary lunch for Sunday at 1 pm. The website and menu looked fantastic, but when we arrived, we were sorely disappointed to learn that there was only a breakfast and brunch buffet menu. The website which I had looked at earlier and then carefully examined after we returned home said nothing about the full menu being unavailable at lunch. Nonetheless, we decided that since we had driven across Cabarrus County, we would partake of the food. We each had mimosas: Linda had pomegranate and a peach for me. They were delicious and the only highlight of the meal. The lunch buffet was palatable but nothing special. Our young server was inattentive, usually out of sight, and apparently inexperienced because she did not explain to us that the buffet came with a made-to-order omelet. It was only after we had already gone through the buffet line that a friend at another table informed us about the omelet, and then, I had to ask another server what the procedure was for ordering the omelet. The omelets were good and much better than the buffet. We then learned the location of the dessert table. My wife enjoyed her piece of coconut pie, and I thought the bread pudding was tasty. Logan, a different server, gave us an excellent tour of this historic building. Our server had not informed us that this was an option. FYI, despite the above, I gave our server a generous tip because I felt sorry for her and felt that the problem might be lack of training. Also, my son owns a restaurant, and I thus understand the importance of tips. The dinner menu might be better, but I seriously doubt if we will drive back over here to find out. What a great autumn drive through the countryside to join Elizabeth and Michael for lunch today at this restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. It was in an old hosiery mill right in the center of town and the space had a lot of charm. There were multiple rooms and a pub. For lunch, I had the fish and chips, which was a tasty dish. The fries could have been a bit hotter, but I enjoyed every bite. Both the food and the conversation were second to none and I am so glad I made the drive. I understand that evenings get really busy here, so check about reservations if you go for dinner. The website needs to be updated, since it indicates that they are closed for lunch. Drive to Mt. Food was awesome but the service we got was the worst I have ever received. My roommate and I were there to celebrate his birthday and he had hyped it up for me. We get seated in the bar area and the waiter doesn't even acknowledge us for twenty minutes till he gets our drink order. We get our drinks and from the time we put in our drink order till we put in our food order was twenty five minutes. While waiting for the food to arrive we both finished our drinks and went up to the bar to get new ones. Fifteen minutes later our waiter comes by and tells us the food is almost ready. By this time customers in other sections who sat down after us had already started to get there food We get our food from one of the other waiters and we're both about half way through our steaks before the waiter comes to check on us to see if everything is ok. At that time we ask for the check because we don't know when we will see him next. Now I don't expected to be waited on hand and foot but four visits in the span of an hour when the restaurant probably could have turned over the table in half an hour is quite ridiculous. If gotten better service at Applebee's or any of the other chain restaurants I've been to. To repeat myself the worst service I have ever received. In a positive note the food was amazing and next time I do not plan on seating in the bar area. read more

Our first visit to 73 & Main was a success and we cannot wait to return!! The hummus and shrimp cocktail appetizers were a solid start, as were the salads. Don't skimp on the bread & butter, they are to die for! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and so flavorful. I wish I had gotten a picture, but didn't because we did have to wait a while to get those, so we were hungry! You can't leave without having dessert.. it was.. heavenly!! Turtle cheesecake & carrot cake.. YUM!!! We got there at 5:45 and left at 8, so don't go if you are in a hurry. But it is worth it! read more
