Visiting NC from NYC so I was hoping their seafood boils were a hit and decided to try out crafty crab. It's a huge spot with fun seafood decor. I enjoyed it and would definitely go back. The customers service was amazing! Like seriously! Mikey S was our server and he was great, very personable. What was amazing was how fast everything came out, yet it came out fresh and steaming hot! The drinks were okay, not really strong but the flavors were okay. The food was great! The steamed oysters with boom sauce were so good! I also had the crafty crab special which came with 1/2lb of Dungeness crab, shrimp, sausage, corn, potato, and an egg for $29 - this was a great deal. I am sharing this experience because it involved a disclosed food allergy and should be taken seriously. My family and I visited Crafty Crab Concord on July 22. Before ordering, I told my server that I am allergic to pork and requested that my seafood boil contain no pork. The server repeated my order back and confirmed "no pork." Despite that confirmation, I found sausage in my seafood boil after I had already started eating. I immediately stopped and notified the restaurant. The staff apologized, but I was disappointed that the seriousness of serving a disclosed allergen was not treated with more urgency. After eating part of the meal before discovering the sausage, I experienced diarrhea and abdominal pain that continued into the following day. I have contacted both Crafty Crab management and the local health department regarding this incident. I hope the restaurant takes this opportunity to improve communication between servers and the kitchen when customers disclose allergies. read more

Today was so cold and rainy but I had cravings for Crab legs. My hunger lead me to Crafty Crab out by Concord Mills. I hadn't been here in a few years. It was kind of dead for Thursday, but I was excited because the less people in the restaurant means that I will get my food quicker! I ordered the seafood boil that came with crab legs, black muscles, and shrimp with mouth, garlic butter sauce, and it was delicious. It was not too spicy, and came out piping and hot. Our hostess and waiter was Rob. The customer service over all was really good. He was super fun and easy to talk to. He came by to check on us and just overall seems like a good guy. I have been wanting some crab legs for a while and decided to come to this restaurant since it was near me. My family came also and it didn't take long to be seated. Our waiter was amazing, ensuring we had everything we needed. I ordered Snow Crab legs, sausage, corn, eggs, and shrimp with The Boom seasoning. It was amazing!!!! We all felt full! Very excited to try this place, so we decided to give it a go for date night. We walked in and we were seated at a booth around the bar. We sat there for about 15 mins without being greeted by anyone. Finally someone walks over and says has your server been over ? We said no and he said he would get her. The server finally comes over she got our drinks and said do yall know what yall want yet? Like we were a bother to her. But of course we were because we had been sitting for about 15 mins. We ordered lemon pepper wings, seafood boil combo and a couple of drinks. The food was ok, the wings 10/10. Once the server brought over the check before we could order more I kindly handed over my card to cash out. After that she never returned of course so I had to go get to go bags myself. First time here. My niece wanted a shrimp boil to celebrate her birthday. There was a group of 10 of us which is hard to do comfortably in the midst of COVID BUT we were able to get a room in the back that had plenty of space. There was only one other group and we were spaced apart very well. The service was great. Ray was so attentive and friendly! He made our birthday celebration enjoyable. We got our food very quickly. I got a to go order that was perfect. Now for the food. Shrimp boil great! Lobster boil great! Lemon pepper wings great! Corn on the cob great-flavors delicious. Rice good especially when you mix in some of the seasoning from the boil. Calamari-not a fan but my cousin thought it was good. Tasted very bland to me. I ordered catfish basket. Not impressed with the catfish. Tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all nor was the cornmeal it was fried in. But the fish was good. I just didn't like the lack of seasoning. Paper straws were a plus. Special touch: they played Stevie Wonders happy birthday when they brought out cheesecake for the bday girl. NEVER got that at a restaurant. This is my first time here, very clean looking place, short wait time but lengthy time waiting for our waitress to announce herself. I'll assume the waitress didn't know we were at her table or she was assigned us but we waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone came over to just say hello. I'm not a crab lover but my wife is, she could eat crab legs all day. After her meal she was content with her juicy fingers and mouth. My son placed an order through Uber Eats for a half lb of crablegs and shrimp (no head), no corn or potatoes add eggs. Upon my arrival home, I work nights at the hospital, I discover that my order that totaled $51.91 through Uber eats only consisted of sweet potato fries, which wasn't even CLOSED to my order. The staff just stands around, on their phones talking and not being attentive to the patrons and it is very unprofessional. I am sure this is how this order is so f*^ked up. This spot was typical, not outstanding but not bad either. Spacious inside, nice decor, but it was a little dirty inside. Lately I've tried not to use outside bathrooms, but went to this one and wish I had went before I left home, definitely dirty and needs some TLC. The wait time was ridiculous, almost an hour and not sure why because it didn't seem overly crowded. Then once we sat down another 25 minutes before we called a server over and then we finally we able to get our order taken. The lobster was a little over cooked because it was rubbery but the BOOM seasoning was really good. The corn was cooked to perfection along with the potatoes. Did not have a good carry out experience. When ordered it was estimated to be ready in 20 but when I got there 25 minutes later it was estimated for another 20. Their system to identify orders was very confusing and many orders including mine seemed to just sit even though they were ready. Food was just ok when I got home (even though they left out my rice). Upon arrival the building is very nice and modern with a fresh feel. Walking in you're met with the amazing smell of seafood, a well-designed interior, and music to fit the vibe. The front staff were very friendly and seated us quickly. The menu was very similar to most seafood places so choosing a dish wasn't very hard. I went with the Snow Crab Legs Boil with Shrimp, Potatoes, and Corn on the Cob. I opted for the Lemon Pepper seasoning and the Fire spice level. Our waiter was very friendly, engaging in conversation and also promptly making sure we had what we needed. When the food arrived we quickly dug in only to find that all of our crab legs were only half full with meat. I'm not sure if that was specific to this place but i've never had that happen anywhere else so that was a bit disappointing. Also, the Fire spice level wasn't that spicy compared to other spice levels i've had but, it wasn't bad. If you love seafood, i'd definitely encourage you to check this place out! read more
