Great place, feels very homey! The innkeepers were super friendly and polite, remembered our names and made a great breakfast - outstanding.

After…read moresome research this was the place I knew I needed to start my vacation , and it was fantastic... We choose to stay in an AIRSTREAM, yes an Airstream! For some reason this seemed fun and it was more than fun... We pulled into the AutoCamp and it's really a really nice property. You'll park your vehicle in a lot and then check in at the lodge. The staff gave us our keys and a map to our airstream. Also filled us in on the entertainment and goings on at facility's. We loaded are gear onto the carts provided so we can move our gear around... Found our camper with ease. Outside our Airstream was table and fire pit should we have wanted to enjoy an evening fireside moment.. Wood was available for sale at the lodge. Inside was a queen sized bed with small tv for viewing. Our shower was great, I mean you're in an airstream yet it was hot and kinda powerful. Now it's summer time so you're gonna need AC or you'll broil in this thing. Yes on the AC and this blew cold air like an attic storm.. My thoughts are you could literally live in one of these if needed should the zombie apocalypse happen. Now the AutoCamp has some other ways to enjoy your trip. You can have a cabin / trailer or for a person whom enjoys a TENT Experience well they have that as well.. Can't say enough positive things about The AutoCamp cause we had a blast. Also note it's super close to the ferry docks so you can travel to Martha's Vineyard for the day. Will come back for another experience I guarantee it...

The first night of a 7 night stay, my daughter broke out in hives after sleeping in one of the bedrooms. We disinfected the room, sanitized the sheets and after the second night, we had to take her to urgent care the next morning. Needless to say, that room was off limits. On the third day raw sewage backed up into the only bathroom on the ground floor. The toilet and shower was overflowing with untreated feces and urine. When the septic repair person came, he indicated that the tank was not properly maintained and had not been serviced in more than 3 years! When we arrived, on day one, we contacted Lisa Silvia, our rental agent, to tell her the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser was not working. Lisa's response to us was "the ice maker and water dispenser were not guaranteed to be operational" (excuse me- for over $20k per week, we expected a fully functional refrigerator for our luxury rental). The cabinets were full of the homeowners glasses and dish ware. The panty was locked. We had no place to store our week's worth of groceries. Someone had to be sent over to clear two shelves for our grocery storage... we had to move the grocery from the countertop to the dinning room table and back before and after cooking each meal. The gas grill didn't have propane...we had to get it filled and replace it. Please keep in mind this was listed as a luxury rental. During the sewer backup, we had to cancel our plans for the day and stay at the home to wait for the repair people to come. We wasted another day for a cleaning staff to come to clean and sanitize the only downstairs bathroom. My 90 year old father had to navigate the stairs to use the bathroom for two days!! Electric circuits were not working in one room. Sliding doors and blinds were not functional on the main floor. The garbage had been piled up for weeks in the outside storage bins... we couldn't fit our garbage in on the first night!! And the front door never locked!! It was a disaster!! The rental office was non-responsive. We actually managed the property during our vacation. We told Lisa we expected a refund of some sort. It has been a month and a half and we have not received our deposit and we're told we would not receive a refund. We may have to take legal action. Do not use MV Vacation rentals & Real Estate!! They are the worst!! If I were able to give negative stars, I would.

First, the A/C upstairs did not work, and it was 85 degrees on the second floor when we arrived (which should have been alerted and resolved before we arrived because the cleaning staff had been there that day). It took DAYS for Del Mar to have a third-party technician diagnose the A/C as unfixable (due to it being a very old, outdated unit that was not maintained properly). Del Mar then had window units delivered, which worked fine - but that was after two nights of not being able to sleep on the second floor. Second, the pool/spa iPad lost its connection, so we forfeited a full day in the pool because they couldn't find the homeowners to get the password to reset the iPad. (Why Del Mar didn't have this password is beyond me.) Even when it was back to working, the spa temp wouldn't regulate and it consistently went up to the max temp (104 degrees) even though we set it much lower. Third, the firepit was broken. When we arrived, it was uncovered and filthy. We had a technician come out to clean it, but it still never worked. There were some smaller things too, like the microwave overheated while cooking popcorn and set off the house fire alarm (for which we never even received outreach from anyone to see if it was a false alarm or if the house was on fire). The kicker was that we asked Del Mar for a refund for the substantial trouble we had - not only with a broken-down house but for all the time we spent tracking down Del Mar and waiting for technicians - and they offered us a piddly and truly offensive partial refund. I really have never been so mistreated after spending this much money, and I will absolutely never use Del Mar Properties again. One of the third-party techs who came to the house even noted that he visited a lot of Del Mar properties that had similar maintenance issues and that their reputation amongst locals is for giving sham luxury - looks fancy and high-end from a distance but has a lot of hidden issues. Oh, and the true icing on the cake is that Del Mar TURNED OFF my ability to write a review on their website, which is so dishonest and disgraceful. I noted that the only reviews on their website are 5-star reviews, which tracks since they don't even allow dissatisfied customers to write reviews. I feel totally scammed.

He said they have "no fees" but obviously this's not true. Their fee is whatever they make above the price they "guarantee" you, which might end up being 20% or as high as 75%, who knows. Luke insisted he had to come see my property before he could give me any info about how they operate the business. He wrote me numerous emails where he tried to make a case for why it's OK for him to not share basic information, which made no sense. It would have been much easier for him to send a sample contract than to send me 5 emails to convince me I didn't need to see it. He comes off as extremely shady, so I did not invite him into my property and I suggest you don't either. Unfortunately, property management companies are not required to be licensed in Massachusetts by the state real estate bureau, as they are in other states. Thus, in MA, buyer beware. There's is no guarantee that who you're dealing with isn't shady. Del Mar Vacations reads shady all over.

Martha's Vineyard, MA (as Amity Island)…read more When I hear of Martha's Vineyard I only know to associate it to Presidential vacations and retreats but there's so much more charm to it and I want to go back! Edgartown was the first town we visited at Martha's Vineyard. Located on the eastern side of the Island, Edgartown is a quiet, lovely village with a deep history of its New England whaling past... we enjoyed some shopping at local souvenir shops. We had lunch at the Seafood Shanty and stopped by the Ice Cream and Candy Bazaar for some ice cream and chocolates. This is the town where they filmed some of the scenes from Steven Spielberg's 1975 blockbuster "Jaws." The original sign used for Amity National Bank was displayed inside the Edgartown Nat'l Bank. We hopped on the VTA Bus #5 that took us to the Town of Aquinnah. It is the least populous town on the island. Here we were able to view the the multicolored clay cliffs of the Gay Head Cliffs and its surroundings including the Gay Head Lighthouse. That lighthouse was featured in Jaws too. Lastly, we got off the VTA Bus #13 at the Town of Oak Bluffs located at the northeastern shore of the island. This town is contrast to the old world charm of Edgartown and the vast fields at Aquinnah. Oak Bluffs is a vibrant and happening town. We saw the the Flying Horses Carousel but we totally missed the Gingerbread Houses! ... now I want to go back to MV again and see those pastel-colored cottages. Btw, there are no actual vineyards on Martha's Vineyard and the island is only accessible from the mainland via ferry. Review #3034
