I really had high hopes for this restaurant after coming across it and received recommendations about it from my brother-in-law. We went there for my daughter's birthday last month to try the buffet. The register guy was very friendly and explained to us fully what each dish was. I was really looking forward to the Chana Masala, but they couldn't find any chick peas and so it was not part of the buffet for the day. I tried everything, but honestly, I've had better at other restaurants. I know there are some great ones in Atlanta, Alpharetta and even ITP, but wanted to find one that's in Gwinnett. My go-to place is Naan N Curry, but they didn't have butter chicken. The butter chicken here was really disappointing. I'm gonna start by saying the the young man who served us our drinks and worked the register was extremely nice. Great service. The food was just not good at all. The butter chicken was pulled and had very few actual good size pieces in it. Several pieces I had on my plate had bone and gristle in and I had to literally spit it out. It was also a little on the spicy side for my 6 year old. The sauce just wasn't right. I doubt I will ever go back as there are better places around. Tried this place for pick up one night. They are on the way home so it was convenient and I was craving Indian food. They do not offer dine-in service and had the option for pickup or delivery. I ordered the chicken tikki masala and the chicken korma. We also got a side of garlic naan and chicken samosas. Our food was not quite on time according to the ordering app, but they seemed a bit understaffed and busy with phone in or online orders. The food tasted great! I saw some other reviews write about how hard the samosas were, but ours came out perfect. The samosas are larger than what I'm used to. The order came with 2 for $4.99. The spices and texture of the chicken in the samosas were delicious and the spices were not too overpowering, which is what I was afraid of. The curries were also delicious and I am a huge fan of basmati rice, so fluffy and aromatic. The only "issue" I had with my take out order were the prices for the portions. Each of the curries were $11.99 and I was surprised at how small the container of curry was. The food was good enough to come back for, but I wish I was alittle more affordable for the portion you get. read more

Alright, trying something new here! I've never had Indian food and my buddy @verityyata decided enough is enough so Indian for lunch it is!! @786kebab is located in Buford right beside The Mall of Georgia. I was actually nervous on my way there because I had no clue what to expect and I don't do so well with spicy food and I KNOW Verity would be like "don't be a wuss!!" So the way this place is set up is kind of like a Golden Corral... You walk in to a table then you go grab your plate and fill it up! They have pictures of each serving right above with the spice level which is helpful, I didn't grab anything too spicy. If I remember correctly, I grabbed the following: DAL MAKHNI (lentils), YELLOW & WHITE RICE, CHICKEN TANDOORI, PESHAWARI KEBAB (ground chicken), BUTTER CHICKEN (my favorite), GULAB JAMUN (think of a donut dunked into water....). My favorite was most definitely the rice and butter chicken. Everything else was OK but if I'm being honest I don't think I'm a huge fan of the type of flavors it brings in, although Verity said it's my fault because I had the ball looking thing in with my main plate and that was supposed to be dessert I didn't know!! All proteins are chicken and you have to really search to find the meat. The restaurant is dingy and dirty looking. I was looking for their food service score but couldn't find it. I've been to 786 Kebab & Curry a few times for lunch. At slightly over $10, it's priced roughly what you'd expect for a pretty good lunch in the area. I have dined at 786 Kebab & Curry a few times because I am the worst kind of glutton. 786 has a fair number of meat and vegetable selections. After a few visits, I'm pretty sure that they will always serve the same things for lunch. In a lot of ways, this isn't bad. You know what you're getting here. There's the standard Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, and the like. The only thing truly lacking from the buffet is a spicy dish. 786 chooses to simply have spicy curry available as a sauce, but this of course doesn't work that well. Service is fairly average. They have almost everything on the buffet line, and the only thing the employees have to do is refill your drinks. This is sometimes done promptly, other times not. I've been to better Indian restaurants, but 786 Kebab & Curry is a fine place to dine in Gwinnett County. read more
