I hella want to support this place but I left with a sour taste in my mouth. The bartender. Dude was simply rude, hella attitude for nothing. Just unhappy. Me and my friends watched him all night just being real rude. I get it, we all have our days--but damn?! So, I go back to get a refill (I assumed I had to pay for it ) the bartender approaches me and says with a nasty look on his face," I will only do this one time but I don't normally do this." I've been here about three times now and I've had really good times here. The first time it was just for a few afternoon drinks with a co-worker and other times I came with friends to watch some NBA games. I like that they have an outdoor area to chill on those hotter days/nights and they have a bunch of fun old games to play too. They have some tasty Filipino food too - you really can't go wrong with the lumpia here. Finally the crowd is super diverse and most people here know how to handle their shit and just have a good time. I have wanted check out this bar for awhile and when I was on BART, I decided to get off West Oakland and walk here. It's a short walking distance. This place is sooooooo big and I love the art! Even the bathroom has some pretty dope are in there. Great to look at when you're taking a deuce. Hehe I like bars that have outdoor seatings. There's plenty of space outside for you to sit. They also have a bunch of old school games like pinball and marvel vs capcom. I've only been here on days where it's super dead (aka, when they first open...lol). If you're petite/small, alone, and don't look like you 'fit in', I don't recommend walking around here by yourself....it seems kind of sketchy. :( read more

This was my first time at 7th West as I was meeting with a friend to celebrate her 29th birthday. Word of caution--if you are planning a celebration get there early so you can grab a table!! My friend had no issues with getting a table as she arrived early enough, however, I didn't meet up with her until later on --BIG mistake, there was a line AND I REALLY HAD TO PEE!! In summary, I had to beg the security guy to let me go owe after he sent me to the gas station down the street and I was 2.5 seconds from going on myself! The line was so long and it didn't make any sense but thankfully--LUCKY--he finally let me go. There's two bathrooms, one is gender neutral (sort of): there's two urinals and one stall, and the other bathroom is one private bathroom. The bathrooms were clean, so that's always a plus! The staff was definitely taking COVID-19 precautions, they all wore masks, checked our temperature and made us all fill out a Google form upon entry stating we didn't have any symptoms. It made me feel more safe--Thats for sure. So, now I see why there was a line . So, I can definitely wait if it means being safe. Overall, ambience was cute! Decor was cute! It's definitely a cute little vibe for summer and outdoor gatherings. The arcade section and inside seemed closed, which I'm assuming is due to COVID. When I heard if this place opening with Jeepney Guy, I was stoked to try it. I thought it would be an automatic win. I was REALLY disappointed. It was slightly difficult to find the location because there's no clear signage. I heard about the heart, so I looked for that. Parking in this street is a bit sketch; there was plenty of broken glass. Also, homeless encampment at the opposite end of the Street. The food window is directly inside the entrance, so when there's a line they are blocking the entrance... Maybe they should redirect the line? Or move the ordering window. It was 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and they're playing the Warriors game. Why are 3 items on the limited menu already out?! Lechon tho?! But fine I'll settle for something else... I didn't because of the bartender service and lack of seating. The bartender was slow and she only stayed in one spot. Also, as I was standing next to my boyfriend waiting for him to order for us. She skipped him and said ladies first... Umm, hello but I'm a lady and I've been standing here for 10 mins. She decided to take orders from 2 women who stepped up just 1 min before she even acknowledged us standing there waiting for service. Again, Saturday night at 6:30 pm with Warriors game playing, so why is there only 1 bartender? There are a few large tables and chairs, mixed matched. There seem to be more tables than chairs because there were several tables without chairs. So we decided to check the outdoor seating. It's so nice. Perfect place to chill if it's summer or you're a smoker... But there is no heat lamp and not enough furnishing to protect you from the elements during the Winter. There's some pinball machines as well and I hope they have more arcades down the line. Bathroom were very strange- it was unisex and anyone who open the door can see the men urinals. I usually LOVE this place pre-pandemic, so when things opened up, it was the first place I wanted to go. My date and I arrived at 5:30 and 6:00 respectively. We ordered at 6:05. They brought our drinks and then nothing else. By 7:10 everyone around us had their food and we still only had our drinks. We flagged down the staff and they said they were going to check. By 7:30 we still hadn't gotten our food. I tracked down the manager and explained that our food had been extremely late. They offered us more drinks while we waited, but by the time the food came we didn't have time to eat. $70 on a night out wasted on food we never got to eat. I'm not sure if I'd come back, but I'm sure my experience last night was not the greatest or even near mediocre. I always make it a point to spend money on businesses owned by Black and other marginalised groups, but in return I expect at least decent service. It's a funky spot, right across from The Crucible, just 2 blocks from west Oakland BART. I've alway seen this place while passing west Oakland Bart, Came here for my twin sisters 22 birthday on a Saturday night and we had a great time. I really like the feelz of this place. It's real laid back. They have old school arcade games, real good Filipino food that is reasonable priced. They have a dj & a full bar. I loved the art work in and outside the building from local artist. The backyard here at 7th West is set up really nice, it offers a lot of space with table & heaters also a outside bar. They have a calendar online that's up to date weekly, which I live for, so you can come for reggae, salsa, open mic karaoke, & spoken word. Patio outside with plenty of space for large amounts of people. Beers, great selections, I had a Joker DRY Hard Cider & One Inch Punch-IPA. Found this venue on Eventbrite while looking for a free party yesterday. If I could give this place negative review I would, however the 1 star saving grace was the music and the food. First of all the staff was RUDE, especially the bartenders. They were super unwelcoming, no smiles, no warm greetings, and unprofessional attitudes. My friend ordered a round of drinks, and as she was signing one bartender said "that's not including tip". We looked at each other like what the hell is he implying? That we were NOT gonna tip? Just straight up rude. The location and venue itself was super sketchy. Driving there took us on a route where we pretty much drove through a homeless encampent. The venue has an outside which looks great for summer, but inside it was freezing cold. Yesterday was 35 degrees and they had 3 doors open keeping it super chilly inside that cold slab of concrete. The 2 tiny bathrooms were smelly and filthy. I wonder what happens when that place is super packed with such limited facilities? Anyway, the worst part of the night was that the venue decided they wanted to close early? We we're waiting for our other friends to arrive but they started turning on the lights around 11PM. Was very impressed as soon as I walked up-they habe security taking temperatures and you fill out a form to show you agreed to their COVID policies, I really liked how they are doing that. They have a decent amount of outdoor seats that are spread apart. You easily order from your phone. My friend and I ordered margaritas, which didn't really taste that strong for the small amount that we received. We ordered some food, I got chicken lumpia and she got the fish tacos. I enjoyed my lumpia other than the fact that one of them was entirely missing meat. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time there. The venue is just one block away from the BART station, making it super easy to access from the City. There's also a Jeepney Guy kitchen serving up super tasty Filipino food (try the chicharon!!).
