While I was passing by, I came across a window advertisement that instantly caught my eye. The cafe offers four different prix fixe meals every day from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Each meal consists of three menu items. Smashburger: This single patty sandwich was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and sauteed onions on a soft bun. The patty could be slightly meatier, but the sandwich was good enough. Fries: These shoe string fries are perfectly seasoned.  They are tossed in a mesquite seasoning giving it a distinct a cajun flavor. They were hot and crispy on the outside while billowy on the inside.   The chef substituted shoestring fries because they ran out of wedge cut fries. Named after the restaurant, the 8-bit sauce is a house made secret sauce that is a great supplement to the meal. It goes with anything and everything. 12 Oz. Soft Drink: Wash your meal down with a refreshing 12 ounce can of soda. Multiple flavors are available, but free refills are not included. Each dining table has a monitor and four controllers. As you wait for the meal to be prepared, play complimentary classic video games. There are several hundred choices to choose on consoles from Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Neo-Geo. Anyone growing up in the 1980s and 1990s will immediately recognize the classics ranging from Kung-Fu to Out Run. The only problem you will have is choosing because you will want to explore them all! Accessing the games (especially if you are a first timer) is somewhat confusing, so be sure to scan the QR code on the napkin dispenser for easy step-by-step instructions. Before you know it, you will now be playing with power! This amenity is free, but a food or drink purchase is required and there is a 30-minute time limit. they're closing down and the food I received today shows. I got fries that were barely fries, the portion was less than a handful with no seasoning, the chicken sandwich was dry, I got the wrong drink and no ketchup or napkins in my bag. thankfully I got my refund on ubereats but the woman that picked up was defensive and unapologetic when I explained how sad I was that I received this as my lunch. thanks for making me the unlucky customer who received careless treatment. yall shouldn't be allowed to run business on ubereats, oh but I forgot- you're closing down anyway. now I need to wait 3-5 business days to get my 14 dollars back, and starve until tonight. what fun. read more

Daaang man, those were some huge chicken strips. I came here because I thought it was more of an arcade rather than nom noms. I tried playing some video games, but those controllers are whack. They didn't work. Loved the idea, but they need to check to make sure they work. The dry rub chicken was pretty good, but didn't enjoy their fries or ranch. Hard to believe it's been almost a year since I've been in this location. Went over here to try out the new to the menu Mozzarella chicken tenders & the cheat code loaded fries which is also a first for me. The theme of the restaurant fits the rest of the locations, a nostalgic like restaurant complete with an emustation complete with games from the 80's & 90's and a very colorful theme similar to the classic Rainbow Road track in Super Mario Kart, complete with 80's and 90's music playing in the background. Kinda makes me wish I had a +1 as company to take in this type of area. It gets boring eating alone. Anyway, to the food. The Mozzy Chicken tenders are just as juicy as their regular tenders, only added with a stringy cheese pull that you would expect from fresh Mozzarella, it was divine. The cheat code fries are also fulling too, it's pretty much 2 smashburgers without the bun coating the fries along with cheese and a sauce similar to Pesto. That meal hit the spot though mind you, this was near $30 so bring some good cash with you. read more

Ordered delivery because I had NO lunch at work. Delivery was prompt despite being 30blocks away. Let's start with the burger! It was simply delicious. Solid patty, great flavor, awesome amount of pickles, cheese and sauce! Also ordered a side of tenders for dinner and ended up eating one and well I ate two and saved one for dinner. Very decent size. The only disappointment is they advertise wedges so I added fries as a side thinking it would be wedges but nope ended up being regular fries. They were good I would've just preferred the wedges as pictured. Nonetheless everything was amazing and I will definitely order something else from there. 10/10 Vibe gives off 90s nostalgia which what drew me in to stop in for lunch. There were game consoles where you can play old school games. Nut Allergy: No issues here. Did takeout via GrubHub with prompt pickup and didn't walk far. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken with extra lettuce and a side of tater tots. First, don't add lettuce. Total waste of money. I got one shriveled up piece of lettuce. The Nashville Hot Chicken was slathered in sauce to the point where things were sliding out and the bread was soggy. I walked less than five minutes so it was not the travel time that affected it. The quality of chicken was subpar, with tendon ruining the texture of the sandwich. No condiments were included or available to take when picking up food. The tater tots were fine, but the quantity was much less than I expected for the cost. Been wanting to bring the kids to this spot for a while. Finally got the chance to do so this week. The big deal with this place is the atmosphere. The fact that you can play retro games while waiting for your food. The colorful colors, deco & Mario lights make it super cool. The music they play are all oldies so it's good. It's nice but , if I am being honest, the food wasn't all that. My burger was over cooked on the edges , it tasted burnt. Everything that was fried (tots, tenders , wings) all came out looking burnt. Which means the oil in the fryer needs to be changed or they just left it cooking longer than what it needed to be cooked. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. I took my son to this new location for 8 bit bites in Chelsea. It is a small space with several tables with old school games. I loved the disco floor. For food, we ordered from the kiosk, which had the secret menu. Think cheat codes from different old school games you play, and you will find it. We got churro from the secret menu, which is changed monthly. From the regular menu, my son had a smashburger with bacon and cheese, which he readily ate. I had the Nashville chicken sandwich, which had the perfect coating of sauce covering it. I ordered it with tater tots covered in cheese sauce. Next time, i would forgo the cheese sauce, which makes the excellent crispy tater tots soggy and has little flavor. For games, we played Sonic the hedgehog, and my son learned how to hold a controller. Service is great as the food was served pretty quick and hot. I would go again with my son. Tips: Even though it is small, they do have a bathoom. Ask the front for help starting the game as the qr instructions are not very helpful. read more

Incredible deal for a birthday party! I hosted my kid plus 14 of his friends (plus some parents). We had the whole place, plus food, drinks and games for 2 hours. It was AWESOME! Like many of you, I first heard about this place online. I thought it looked cool from what I saw. My friend had eaten at another location and wanted to come here. The store is very stylish but pretty small. It looks exactly as advertised online. There are several tables with games you can play. You have your choice of old school games to choose from. Pretty much anything from before the 3D era. When I first came I got the funnel cake fries with strawberry toppings. They were pretty good but not something I would get again. Maybe if I were here with friends and didn't want a meal. My 2nd trip was a smash burger, fries, and the rainbow road milkshake. I was also able to try the tater tots. The burger was legitimately one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Unfortunately it is small and at $6.50, too expensive. The fries were also really good, although I ordered tots. As for the milkshake, it was a vanilla milkshake mixed with fruity pebbles. That one was very delicious. The food came out about 10mins after I ordered it. I was able to play Super Mario Bros 3 while I waited. They called my name when it was ready. All in all, this is a great spot to come with friends. They have a sign saying they charge 3% extra for credit card charges. Not sure if they actually do it. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, the tater tots and a soda. The chicken was thin, crispy and a bit spicy (not too spicy). It had a hint of sweetness. The bread was soft. Plenty of sauce. It may have been a bit overcooked. The tater tots were fine. When researching places to eat while visiting NYC I stumbled upon this restaurant via a blog. I have two boys who LOVE video games and this was the perfect spot for them. The food was really good and enjoyed by all. I wish they offered a kids menu, but I understand that maybe this neighborhood isn't very kid centric. My husband enjoyed the video games as it brought him back to his childhood and the games he used to play. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who like video games and burgers. read more

I've had 8 bit bites a few times. It's a really fun restaurant that serves pretty tasty food. I wouldn't recommend the chicken sandwich unless you get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, which is now one of my favorite chicken sandwiches next to Popeyes. They have great deals on Facebook too where you can get a burger, shake, wings, or chicken sandwich for free if you order $10 worth. The burger is pretty good and I'd recommend the double burger although a bit pricey for the size. What I love the most may be the tator tots. I ask for extra seasoning. It's crispy, spicy, and delicious. The tots are way better than the fries. Although not everything is a hit, I know what I really like from here and from that I'll give it a 5. Came in on a rainy day to grab a quick bite with my family on my way home. The employee had the entire front wide open which made the seating area unbearably wet and cold. We ordered some tenders and a shake. The tenders were over cooked and fried in old oil. The shake had way too much cinnamon. The employee at the front was also incredibly overbearing. I used to get food here frequently but today will be the last day after the most disgusting experience. As I step in to pick up my order, the worker is in the middle of cleaning out the bathroom trash. They are holding the trash can with one hand, bare hand no gloves. I can see the toilet paper and trash in the can that they are holding. my order is ready so they stop, place the bathroom trash can down on the floor and grab my food bag with that SAME hand and give it to me. I was too stunned and disgusted in the moment to say anything. That bag went immediately into the trash for me. Ambiance is definitely the only reason it's getting 2 stars. It was nostalgic and the games created a fun atmosphere. The food on the other hand, not that great. Burgers were over charred which gave them a funny taste. Chicken tenders and fries were either overcooked or fried in dirty oil (both looked dark brown / burnt). When we arrived, the place was empty. We were a big group that required 2 tables which was not a problem because they were available. We ordered, played while we waited, and got straight to eat once the food came. We spent close to $150, but were asked shortly after getting our food to give up one of our tables so that other guests could sit. They were not rude about it, but we had not hit the 30 min limit, we still had food in front of us at the table (clearly not done eating), and we were still waiting for additional menu items we had ordered.
