We did a work happy hour at 8 Horses Lounge last Friday night and it was a great time! The atmosphere was amazing. While we didn't get to enjoy the vault room, the cozy couch we had was perfect for our group. Service was great in the beginning of the visit and then it fell off as the bar got busier. Not sure if it was the amount of people and staff or if it's a larger issue. That being said, our server was very friendly and thoughtful. I know he had lots of groups to take care of. Our drinks were very well made. We came in to take part in Happy Hour. The Buy one Get One menu was a bit limited, but we were able to find something to our liking. But the vault is the number one attraction at 8 Horses! It took 8 horses to install.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had fun cocktails, sitting inside the vault. We brought some friends and descended into the basement, once a bank, now transformed into Eight Horses Lounge. Phenomenal drinks and a really fun atmosphere. The service was the biggest disappointment. It was not too busy, but it took about 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. Tonight was our first visit here. The service was amazing without being over bearing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lounge is a former bank and they have separate seating areas in the former vault and the former safety deposit box room. Just wasn't blown away. Decorated very "clean" and the open vault door was cool. No food or snacks with your cocktails. The cocktail I had was made well, but but but. Service was good but nary a smile to be had. Really disappointed as the place just didn't have a vibe to it at all. Music was blah and without some excitement behind the bar is just average. I ate a late lunch at Fork and while paying the check saw the flyer for 8 Horses. It was almost 4pm so I did a little window shopping then went in. Amazing cocktail menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were in the back wine cellar area so cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However some other waitress wearing a green long sleeve dark long straight hair absolutely ruined the atmosphere. She came in making a face at us then telling us we can't vape or smoke which we weren't and I told her that she can check the camera that was in there and she made a face and acted like we were lying. Please check your cameras because our group would have never done that. We have respect for businesses and we don't even smoke lol. There was never an apology she was just super rude. We were already wanting to leave at that point and one of our drinks fell and broke. I immediately went to find our waitress to let them know and offered to clean it up. When I came back one of the bar backs came in and asked us about the drink that spilled and told us that next time it's be a good idea to let someone know about it which I did and told him but was responded in a condescending way. He then proceeded to hold up someone else's crushed up cookie (that was already in the cellar before we got there) if we brought mushrooms in and what it was. Which we responded with we didn't know that it was there before we got there. Overall it was not a great experience. There was 6 of us wanting to spend money on a good night out that we haven't had in a while and that vibe was not it at all. The one star is because the place is so pretty and the waitress that helped us was great but unfortunately we ended the experience wanting to leave because we were so uncomfortable with other staff. read more
