These days, it's more like a three week book out, which must mean business is good. For this particular visit, we had several mileage maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. We were given a list by the Ford Dealership, and we brought that in for a quote with Cedar Crest Tire. The Ford Dealership also noted that we had evidence of an engine oil leak. I made the appointment at the beginning of July, and I got in on July 20th. They have a key drop box that we were able to use and leave the vehicle there the weekend prior. I got a call on Tuesday afternoon that my vehicle was ready for pick up. On my way into town, I swung by to pay the bill and get the key. I know that they have a ride service available, but I hoped by daughter would help me with the ride. We looked over the invoice and didn't see anything addressing the engine oil leak. He got a hold of the technician, and he said there was no evidence of a leak. Before bringing in the vehicle, I did call back to add an emissions service to the list of items, and that one was overlooked, but I wasn't billed for it either. I feel like my correspondence with them have always been professional, and my vehicles have always been repaired.

This business has been a nightmare to deal with! The owner of the business died from Covid a couple…read moreyears ago, and it's Jackie, the wife of the deceased, Angie, the daughter, and Sammie, the son in law running the business. They rarely ever answer their business phone, and all communication is done via email by the daughter who does it from home. The daughter claims that they had several techs when I first made my $9,100 deposit on April 12, 2024, and now they only have the son in law, who was rarely ever there doing any work. They made the mistake of getting greedy and overbooked themselves, and, unlike the founder of Gilson's Auto Body, they have no idea how to run a business. Every time I contacted the daughter by email, I was simply strung along with excuses and lies. I told them they should have refunded my money when they realized they were overbooked instead of keeping my vehicle indefinitely without it getting repaired or giving me a completion date. But Angela, the daughter, tried to gaslight me by telling me I was the only customer that wasn't patient and compassionate, despite the many negative reviews they've gotten over the past 2 years. But, after over 6 weeks of waiting for them to even start working on my truck, I finally had enough and on Friday July 5th I filed a complaint with the New Mexico Justice Department Consumer Complaint Division. The following Monday, they sent out a group email to all of their customers that they are closing their business for good and will be locking their gates and appts must be made to pick up vehicles. But I had to threaten that I'd bring a police escort if they didn't allow me to pick up my truck and they finally let me pick it up on July 11, 7 weeks after I originally dropped it off! In the email notice, they also stated that they plan to refund deposits to all their customers, but it could take up to 90 days because they first have to sell their building and business to be able to get the money to pay customers their money back! They also threatened to file bankruptcy if anyone tried to force them to give them their money back before 90 days! This business is not only dishonest, but they are fraudulent. They take your money and make promises they can't keep! Then they spend your money and aren't able to pay you back when they fail to complete the services that they promised to do. If they don't return my $9,100 deposit within the next 30 days, I will be taking them to court and filing a lien against their property and business!

Everyone said it would cost between $2200-7000 to repair. That is quite a price range. Jay at No Worries Auto Repair advised to first just bring it in and do a full synthetic oil change and see if that might help before spending that kind of money. He also stated that the fluttering might not get worse and the vehicle could be driven for quite some time or it might require the timing chain repair quickly. All vehicles were different. I appreciated his total honesty! I didn't feel the other shops relayed the total picture to me. I had him do the synthetic oil change and am currently driving the truck. Thank you Jay. I'll be back. We filed the claim with our insurance, and this shop called the next day to schedule an appointment. The appointment was about a week out, which was okay, the vehicle was still operable. When we arrived to our appointment, we checked in at the front desk. We had to sign some paperwork and hand over the keys. One of their associates came out to the vehicle, marked the damage, and also marked previous damage. We signed some more paperwork and we were on our way. We got a call a week later from them. He explained in great detail the damage that had occurred, and they hit a point where the insurance told them to not go any further. The insurance called the vehicle a total loss. The next day we came to clean out the belongings and remove the license plate. The second experience was very similar to the third. For our first experience, we also used this recommended shop from our insurance. This job was some fender work that they fixed up and it looked like new. The crew here are extremely friendly and highly knowledgeable with what they are doing. It's no wonder it's my insurance's recommended shop.

I only had 40 and he told me to get more and come back or buy the tire and have it done somewhere else.
