Jesse picked us up at the hotel, prompt, professional, kind and attentive to our needs. He was knowledgeable regarding the vineyards, local history, dining, you name it...he had it covered. There were 7 of us in our group, we had ample room in the van, comfortable spacious, climate controlled, good viewing. Jesse would shuttle us into our chosen winery, talk to whom ever he needed to and the next thing you know, we would have a spot and begin our tastings. Jesse would also keep us on track and remind us (very politely) that our next winery was awaiting our scheduled arrival. I can't speak highly enough about this gentleman and our experience, it was truly a fantastic Santa Ynez wine tasting adventure. THANK YOU JESSE!

From the very beginning, Eric, the owner, was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly accommodating and flexible, especially since our Airbnb was located in a more mountainous area of Santa Barbara. Our driver, Tom, was absolutely fantastic. He was a great driver, extremely knowledgeable about the area and wineries, and shared so much interesting information throughout the day. Another great perk was that lunch was included, which made the day even more enjoyable and convenient. A great little unexpected touch was a stop at a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar stand between wineries. It was such a nice addition to the day and made the tour feel even more personalized. If you're looking for a stress free wine tour with wonderful communication, I highly recommend looking into Stagecoach Wine Tours. The pricing is great and it was truly an amazing experience. Will definitely be booking with them the next time I am in Santa Barbara/surrounding areas!

Just when I think the experience can't get any better, they find a way to raise the bar again. Scott has created something truly special with Sustainable Wine Tours. He has curated a one-of-a-kind experience that goes far beyond a typical wine tour. From intimate boutique wineries you would never find on your own to opportunities to meet the winemakers themselves, every stop feels authentic, personal, and thoughtfully chosen. Over the years, I've gained an incredible appreciation for wine because of these tours. The level of wine education, along with the knowledge shared about the Santa Ynez Valley, has been extraordinary. Every tour leaves me with a deeper understanding of the region, the vineyards, and the people behind each bottle. This time, Karina was our host, and she was fantastic. When she realized one of our scheduled wineries was one we had already visited, she immediately worked with Scott to arrange a different boutique winery. We would have been perfectly happy revisiting the original stop, but the fact that they made every effort to create a new experience speaks volumes about their commitment to their guests. The service is unmatched, the hospitality is genuine, and every detail is intentional. Sustainable Wine Tours has created some of our favorite travel memories, and after five tours, I can honestly say this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that somehow gets even better every time. We can't wait for number six.

I highly recommend getting a flight to taste their wide selection of amazing wines. Our server, Isaac, was awesome. He gave us a full description of each tasting and his own personal recommendations. 10 out of 10 service! The venue itself is beautiful with their wide open setup that has plenty of seating for both small and large parties. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Sunstone Winery…read more The problems started before we even arrived. When I called to modify my reservation a week prior to our visit and add additional guests, the staff member I spoke with was rude, sounded annoyed by my questions, and ended the call abruptly without even saying goodbye. Looking back, I should have taken that as a warning of what was to come. When we arrived for our 11:00 a.m. reservation, the host stand staff were not welcoming or friendly. I was informed that because of the size of our party (12 people), two tables could be pushed together, but we would be charged an additional $50. This had never been communicated to me during my phone call. Had I known there would be an extra charge simply to accommodate the size of our group, I would not have proceeded with the reservation. I then asked if our group could be seated at two separate tables, but was told no because the tables were in different server sections. There was no effort to offer alternatives or find a solution. The interaction felt very transactional and unaccommodating. What made this even more frustrating was that the winery was not busy. In fact, we were told it was "graduation season" and a slower weekend, so the lack of flexibility was surprising. Eventually, I suggested that we sit at one table and have a few people stand. As it turned out, the table was actually large enough for our entire group, which left me confused as to why the additional table and fee had been suggested in the first place. As we were being seated, we were informed that because of our group size, we would be doing bottle service and would not be permitted to participate in wine tastings. This was another policy that had never been mentioned when I modified my reservation. Since this was our first visit to the area, wine tasting was the primary reason we chose to visit Sunstone. At that point, we were seriously considering leaving altogether. The hosts repeatedly asked who I had spoken with on the phone, which I couldn't remember. I explained that I wasn't blaming the individual helping us at that moment, but I was disappointed that important details regarding fees and tasting restrictions had never been communicated. Thankfully, Aaron stepped in. He interrupted the conversation and offered to accommodate our group with tastings. Aaron completely changed the trajectory of our visit. He was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. Thanks to him, we stayed, enjoyed the wines, and ended up purchasing more than 20 bottles. The wine was great, and Aaron was exceptional. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience with the staff left a lasting impression. Customer service starts long before the wine is poured, and every interaction before Aaron felt dismissive and unfriendly. The only reason I'm giving more than one star is because of Aaron. Without him, we would have left before ever tasting the wine.
