    Mahalo Kyle and Car Geeks! Made an appt online for Safety check. Preferred time 3 days out from initial submission and backup apt. time the following week. Received a text confirming they received the submission and they would reach out to confirm the appt. time. Not long after i received a call back to confirm my backup apt time. Received a reminder text about my upcoming appt the day before the actual appt. Day of, the shop was easy to find. I showed up 15 min early and parked in one of the numbered stalls in front of their bays and found my way into the customer waiting room where Kyle worked the intake. Very clean waiting area and Kyle is friendly and easy to talk with. During the inspection, I received a text with a website link to updates and photos with options and pricing to approve suggested things that were found. I love that. It saves time, is efficient and I can see a clear summary with photos. Overall I had a great experience from booking an appt. to completion. The whole process was smooth and efficient. The appointment itself was fast and completed earlier than expected. Great customer service!

    Needed to find a new car maintenance place as the one at the Kapolei shopping center was chaotic not answering the phone and not logging down our Car appointment. Car Geeks was thorough providing an outstanding inspection list and using online technology. Each inspection provided a ranking of red, yellow and green and provided an estimate of each item needed to be repaired, which I could accept or decline. Very convenient.

    Best place to get your safety inspection. The whole process was quick and very organized. Waiting room was also quiet and comfortable.

    I got my safety check here. They were fast, friendly and inexpensive. It's nice to have a car repair shop you can trust.

I spoke to Daniel, who explained things to me clearly and welcomed me in when I was ready to get the service. Kainoa was also very helpful. I had shown up early one morning, without an appointment, hoping to get in for the service, as my Ohana were visiting and I wanted to take them around the island. Kainoa got me in immediately and the usual hour and a half time allotted for an alignment went by more quickly than expected and we were on our way. There was a part I needed to replace in the back tire, which the mechanic found during the alignment. After a few weeks of waiting, the part came in and I took my car back to American Tire. They took care of everything promptly and efficiently. Even gave me a ride home (because they weren't too busy and had an extra person on the clock. This service is not usually provided, just fyi. They went out of their way, instead of having me wait for the work to get done plus the realignment, which would take approx 4 hours. Dre was super nice and we talked story on our short drive. Once finished, Dre came back to pick me up. He's a very nice young man. These gentlemen are professionals and yet, make you feel like family. Highly recommend American Tire Company, Kapolei

We built our business based on trust and avoid anything that will break that trust." This is false advertising. My husband went there for a simple service regarding his tires. He agreed to their premium price. Without going into detail, there was a serious safety issue with my husband's car. My husband informed them about the problem; however the representative was reluctant to investigate the problem. The representative stood by his "experienced service staff." So my husband went to a reputable tire company to investigate the problem. The company discovered and concluded that American Tire Company negligently installed the tires improperly. Moreover, American Tire Company installation standards are generally set for commercial vehicles and NOT according to the specific type of vehicle that requires service. There is a sign in their office disclaiming that they are not responsible for any damages to the owner's rims but they claim to be very careful. Now I understand why they posted that disclaimer in the office. I issued a complaint with BBB. American Tire Company failed to offer any reasonable settlement. The Honolulu location is not trustworthy. I remember when the company was on Colburn St. when the company first started. SHAMEFUL! ! ! Maybe this location suits commercial vehicles only. "Quality repair services" ..."perform accurate and friendly auto repairs and tire services" is false advertisement. "We maintain a culture of respect, honesty, and commitment that extends to our people; both internal and external." These are all false statements in their website. "Caveat emptor! ! !" My advice is ....don't go to the Honolulu shop.

(review is very late, but started…read morethinking as I saw ads for them on Facebook regularly, people need to be aware of their practice) apparently they didn't tighten the steering knuckle lower 2 bolts on my Tacoma, clearly before I left I saw a thread sticking out on the lower control arm bolts, didn't say anything as I'd thought they'd honor their work, and thought they possibly even messed up the threads on that bolt that was loose which is why it didn't go all the way in, (as a mechanic I'm not going to touch something I'm afraid will break which would turn to my fault, liability is pretty important in the automotive service industry) they reassured me before I left that everything was perfect even though the skid plate wasn't installed as well until I said something, then within less than 6000 miles down the road and within less than a 6 month period, lower control arm came loose and went straight to the floor, took it back to them with a tow truck and they charged me for the labor to replace a lifetime warranty part from rough country as well as a CV axle that got damage due to collateral damage from the bolt coming loose. Clearly they didn't tighten the bolt with their response as "we loctite everything" well loctite only goes a long way when the bolt is torqued with a torqued wrench. A real shop would've comp everything and own up to their mistake and repair it for free due to technician negligence. But that didn't happen, rather just down another couple hundred dollars, around $800-1,000 to fix their mistake. But I mean the lifetime part was free which was great, one company at least honored something. Never coming back here again, neither will ever be involved with this shop ever again. Still have my receipt and can easily warranty stuff yourself on rough country website. Wasn't going to argue with these guys in person as they're pretty intimidated and aggressive when you put them on the spot. So it's easier to result in online reviews and let people know their practice as they're also firm with whatever they say with no room for talk or solution unless I'm guessing legal action is taken or a harsh review is made. They honestly just hungry for money, made the victim an even bigger one.

    I placed an order for two tires that needed to be replaced on my vehicle. On the day of my appointment, I arrived about 10 minutes early to check in and drop off my vehicle. I was told the service would take about an hour to an hour and a half. That timing worked for me, so I went to grab something to eat and do some shopping nearby. My vehicle was ready right at the hour-and-a-half mark. However, the very next day, the tire pressure warning light came on, along with a "Service Tire Monitor System" message on my dashboard. One of the newly replaced tires is no longer registering any pressure. I also noticed that my tire valve caps were not put back on. I've been calling multiple times a day, every day, and no one answers the phone! I had to schedule another appointment, and the earliest available time was a week out. This has been extremely frustrating, especially after what initially seemed like a smooth experience.

When I picked up my truck, I noticed the damage and spoke to the front desk. He literally told me their equipment is old and that damage is "expected." That's a wild thing to say to a customer. One of my center hub caps has a deep, long score where it looks like the tech tried to pry it off instead of doing it properly. What's worse is the installer clearly knew they did it and just didn't say anything. I've got video of all four wheels from drop off, so I know for a fact that wasn't there before. The actual work quality was just lazy. They used stickon weights, which is fine, but they didn't even clean the surface first. Wont be surprising if they don't stay on. On one wheel, they placed weights almost opposite of each other. Pretty much just canceling each other out and adding unnecessary unsprung weight for no reason. The ride feels a little bumpier than it did on my old, worn-out tires. My guess is that they didn't road force the tires, maybe because they don't have the equipment or the staff isn't trained on it. Idk. I even had a missing valve stem cap. The front desk guy just put on a random mismatched one. I had all four matching OEM caps and they didn't replace the stems because I got TPMS. April Arzadon was the salesperson on the ticket and Ezekiel Lyau was the tech. It's been two weeks since the guy at the counter took photos of the damage and said the manager would handle it. Couple days after pick up, I called back, and while the manager supposedly got the message, i never actually talk to the manager. They just keep using the front desk as a middleman. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because the online booking was easy and the price was ok, but the "savings" aren't worth the damage and the total lack of accountability. I may have to take it to another shop to get the tires rebalanced. We'll see.
