Went in for just an oil change, came out with tires inflated to correct pressure, all fluids topped up, and the information that the sensor in the washer fluid doesn't work, so the dash warning can't be stopped. Uncle Roger is very knowledgeable and very talented when it comes to solving problems on cars, Vans, trucks, and basically any other automobile. He is very caring when coming to your car as he is like a doctor. He changed out my starter the same day and took shorter time than expected inwas very happy. When he diagnosed my car for the problem he let me know what could've caused the car to malfunction. Overall though the shop is a great and great customer service. They have a no call no service policy so if you're running kate be sure to give them a heads up or reschedule if you can't make it that day. The price is reasonable due to the fact Uncle Roger gives you the break down of all the costs. What could happen if you don't get certain things which would create more problems. Aunty Kathy is also great as she also makes the appointments and is great at handling the paperwork and updating you with what is going on with your veichle. People with car problems; this is the place to go! My car was running super rough :T After getting multiple different opinions on what could be wrong with my car, I was starting to get really confused and had little hope on figuring out what was truly wrong with it. After digging further into yelp, I came across this gem and called right away. Was told that they usually go by appointments (especially for first time customers); was lucky that they had an opening within a couple of days of calling. Its located in Pearl City Plaza (across the street from PC Zippys) behind the Button Up restaurant. Drive through the parking lot in the back and youll see their sign on the building on the right side. I wasnt sure where I needed to park exactly since there were so many cars right in front of the building, but it didnt seem to matter since there were plenty of stalls in the parking lot. Nobody was outside, but eventually found somebody. Seems that theyre in the whole building and are renovating and moving their things to one side of the building. They were super apologetic for the mess and craze hehe. Explained to Robert what was going on with my car, and the multiple diagnosis it had gotten. He was sympathetic to my confusion and my feelings of hopelessness, assuring me that he'll figure out whats going on and they'd get it squared away. I felt really reassured, and left my car in their hands. They explained that it would take a few hours since they still had other cars to work on ahead of mine, which was fine. As I was attempting to request an Uber back to my place, Roger had seen me and asked if I wanted a ride. I didnt want to burden him since he had so much to do, but he insisted, saying that he normally had another person to help give people a ride but that person needed the day off. Awww...I happily obliged. He dropped me off at home and assured me that hed give me a call asap. As 430p rolled around (they close at 5), I got worried when I didnt hear back yet and called to check on the status. Roger immediately apologized for the delay, and explained everything that he found out in detail; there was a leak and he had called around and compared it to another car (same as mine), and found out that its more likely going to need repair that included removing the cylinder head...which meant big bucks. He had told me up front that hed look into whether there was a recall for this certain problem for my car (my car had a lot of recalls :( ) and if there wasnt a recall, it wouldnt really be worth it to fix. He said to give him a few days to ask around. Although he worked quite a bit to diagnose my problem, he only charged me for an hours worth. I waited a week without hearing back, so I called him to check in. He apologized for not getting back to me sooner as things had been hectic with the renovation and move. Gave me an update on what he had found. Overall: The Good: -VERY friendly, courteous staff! They make you feel at home and are super trustworthy. -Charged me only for an hours worth of work, even though I know he worked on it a lot longer -Went the extra mile with dropping me off at home, giving me advice and calling around to find out about problems related to my type of car. The Bleh: -I had to call to check in both times; Im not exactly sure if or when I would have heard back from them if i didnt call back myself, which made me worried for a bit since his call was going to determine whether I would need a new car or not. But theyre going through a major move, so its understandable. I'd definitely recommend them! I'll be going back to them soon, to have them inspect my new car! read more

I'm not suggesting that you should go to The Shop, I'm telling you GO TO THE SHOP. My car was way over due for a service so I called the shop to make an appointment. They were able to fit me in on the date of my choosing and even made sure that my service would be quick so that I could get to work on time! The people who run the shop are awesomely accommodating and awesomely nice and awesomely talented and did I mention awesome? I have never felt more comfortable taking my car in for servicing than I did here. And the price!!! I paid almost four times the amount at Jiffy Lube for the exact same service "the doctor" provided for me today. On top of that, he told me that Jiffy didn't screw my oil bolt (or whatever I don't know anything about cars) in tight enough so it could have come off at any time which would have caused a lot of damage to my engine! I am never taking my car anywhere else except The Shop. Quality work, excellent service, and no bull poop prices. Tip: Bring your own food! A nice couple we waited with told us that if we're expecting to wait a while, we should bring our own food as there are no good places to eat nearby. read more

I was very hesitant about writing this review because I get sick thinking about how much $ I threw away coming here and trusting this mechanic. I was referred to The Shop by a friend who said the owner specialized in Jeeps. I had just purchased a jeep on craigslist and it was giving me problems. I told them that I wanted to get it checked out to see if it was worth putting more money into it or just getting rid of it. I specifically got it because I was going to have a baby in a few months and I was driving a truck at the time. I needed a reliable car for my baby and I and The Shop ensured me that I could trust them with this task. They said the car was worth keeping, it was a good car and they could give it a tune up and fix the minor problems. They had excellent customer service and were very friendly. I honestly trusted that they were really trying to help me. In the end I ended up spending a couple extra grand and I even brought my truck in to get tuned up as well. Long story short, after spending all this money my engine started knocking very soon after. To make matters worse, one of the areas that they fixed on my car broke off on Christmas Day. I was driving with my newborn to Sandy's and the wheel broke off. I ended up stuck in the middle of the road with my screaming baby on Christmas waiting for a tow truck, which takes forever on a holiday. I was so sick & livid! Especially because this mechanic told me I could trust them to make my car safe for my baby and something like this happens! I took the car into another mechanic and told them that I had just had it fixed, he said that if it had broken off on the freeway, the entire car would have flipped. I'm just thankful that we didn't! God was really watching out for us because the tire broke off as soon as I turned into the Sandy's parking lot. Anyways, the new mechanic said on top of the broken axle or whatever it was I had an oil leak somewhere and the engine was on it's way out. The best thing I could do would be to sell it or trade it in. Mind you, this all happened within a 6 month timeframe. It's so hard in this day and age to trust any kind of service people, which is so sad to say--but it's frankly why we trust word of mouth recommendations from friends and family. A lot of businesses are just looking out for themselves and how they can make more money. This new mechanic that I went to is a friend of the family's, which I should have went to in the first place but thought I could handle things on my own. In the end I wasted a bunch of money and will probably end up donating the car by the end of the month. Lesson learned, be careful who you trust and don't buy cheap cars on Craigslist! read more

Love this people and specially their waiting room! Came in just to have the a/c of my SUV recharged. It was quick and painless. Roger, the head engineer himself took care of my car as if it was his own. I also ended up getting this little wonder additive he sells and though I was kind of skeptic I had nothing to loose since it was priced way better than anything out there(with one treatment being enough for one month and its starts working in 5 min.) well long story short I am now afraid to let go of the break lol and I can confidently say that my car has never run so smooth ever! First, this is the second review I've written in probably 10 years, the other was on a product which was so offensively horrible I couldn't help but warn the rest of humanity away from the peril that would be their journey if they chose to seek that product. So if it gives any context, I rarely feel the need to express my opinion about a service or product. Not So with the shop. If every auto shop ran like Roger runs the Shop, the world would be an infinitely better place for mankind. And everyone should know that. It's such a great success there should be a news story on it. But I'm not Ron Burgendy and I don't have a microphone, so this will have to do. So I recently purchased a Jeep and took my precious new 4WD ticket to freedom to the Shop after reading some pretty solid reviews. I have to say the experience I had was definitely the most positive experience I've ever had with any other human being relating to the subject of automobiles. Roger and his shop are professional, personal, thorough and caring. I truly felt like they cared about my vehicle and me as a customer. He showed me around some of the other custom jeep builds he was doing and talked to me about my jeep like it was one of his own vehicles. It was a great experience. They definitely proved to me within the first 15 minutes that their shop is unique and that I could trust them with my Jeep. I've come here numerous times to get replacement parts installed on my old Honda Prelude. He did my power steering, water pump, and timing belt, as well as all my seals for a very good price. He even resprayed my Valve Cover since it was peeling! They also do safety checks, and the process is pretty quick. I do not write very many reviews I think most of the reviews shown on Yelp of people taking out their frustrations. But I can't say enough things about the shop in Pearl City I have been a customer of theirs since they opened 5 years ago have never taken the time to write a review but mind kind of goes like this. I've taken the car there for servicing before and what always impressed me was there are many times when they could have sold me services that I didn't and I wouldn't have known the difference. But instead they take the time to be straight up and they tell you what you need and what you don't need and what you can put off. Example my mother broke her mirror on the side of her car and those things are pretty expensive to replace but he went out and found me after Market mirror came up to the house installed that for my mom and the cost was way less than I ever expected. My son dropped the car off today he didn't oil change and I thought I was going to need a brake job t hey check the brakes out and says no save your money they will go at least another six months that's what I appreciate most I have no problem watching in there and saying Roger and Kathy please do whatever has to be done and I am confident that I will never ever get dune then i need. Oh I almost forgot to tell you about the most outstanding detail job you could ever get. When my son went to pick up the car he did not recognize it as being the same car when I came out to the car tonight I could not believe how it looked from top to bottom keep up the great work. read more

I Tried this shop because of their high ratings here on Yelp. Unfortunately, I left the shop with a large amount of scratches on a very large portion of my fender (side they were working on). I noticed they did not cover the fender with a drape which is standard practice at dealerships and shops who take pride in their practice as a whole. They did their job on the repair that I came in for, but they did not care for the car in general like they advertised. I will have to buff down my whole fender to try and eliminate as much scratches as I can, while cutting away at my clear coat at the same time. I would not recommend this shop if you have an excellent condition vehicle where attention to detail is also a factor when choosing a shop. Next time, I'll pay the extra amount at the dealership for the extra care and less headache. read more

When you buy a 2nd or 3rd hand car you buy all its problems as well. I had my 02 Maxima for 6 years and it started to show its age. It developed an oil leak. So I took it to a well known shop that always gave me exceptional service. This time though, they were still very friendly, but to make a long story short, it cost me an arm and a leg. About a month later an oil spot appeared on my garage floor. Back it went to the shop only to be told its leaking deeper in the engine and it would cost me over 1k. So I did a search for another shop in Pearl City, and thats how I found Roger's shop "the shop". Like everyone says, the staff there are so helpful and sincerely care about you and your car. Roger is so knowledgeable about cars and especially my Maxima. You can tell right away you can trust him 100%. He really is like a doctor and will find out whats making your car sick. Roger was really a great person to work with, I accidentally lost the key to the car on the tow down and had no spare. The tow dropped it off in the front of his shop and it couldn't move. I am sure it was in the way, but he made it seem it wasn't a problem, got a locksmith that was very reasonable and now I have 2 keys. He also fixed my water pump, but also checked on other things while he was in the area of the motor and found the timing was off a tooth and the tensioner was not set. He really went beyond and made a bad situation problem free. Price is standard per hour and they do book rate, but in this case you really get high quality work, honesty, and good customer service. I gave The Shop a call and said they could take a look at it, that was the closest I got to yes. So I made an appointment and brought the car in. Very friendly, they have a nice waiting room and I was given updates as they were actually able to mend my problem. After flipping through a few magazines, my car was ready and I was on my way at a decent price.
