He started coming here for regular oil changes since his car was no longer being serviced by the dealership. However, there was a time when the car was making a weird noise, so he scheduled an appointment for WAR to check it. They couldn't find the problem that day, and so they suggested to keep it overnight. They looked at the car the next day and drove it around. Everything looked ok and they couldn't find the problem. When my husband picked up the car, they told him there was no charge for their service. Wow, that is unheard of! My husband felt really uncomfortable for not paying , so we decided to gift them with a local kine snack basket as a thank you. We dropped it off the next day and they were so grateful. There was another time we needed help from WAR. I had just taken my car in to the dealership for my scheduled service and maintenance. I told the dealership that my breaks were making a screeching sound. They checked it and told me that my brakes needed to be replaced. The dealership give me a quote and it was pretty steep. I was a little disappointed with their quote so I called me husband. After we talked, he called WAR for a quote just to compare. Within an hour, we got a quote. Their quote was slightly cheaper than the dealership. My husband and I decided to schedule an appointment for them to check it and give us a diagnosis. I brought it in and they told me that my breaks were fine and I didn't need to replace them right now. Omgee! At least they were honest, unlike the dealership! Thank goodness for honesty! Last week, I scheduled an oil change for my daughter's car and a courtesy shuttle service for myself. When I brought in the car today, Luzcille (owner) helped check me in. Almost burned again. Needed an oil change and got desperate because I had to drop car off and walk home. It's close. Upon pick up, I was advised to have several parts changed estimated to cost 2000. Took my car to Leeward auto and asked for an honest opinion. They advised that I get rid of the car. Not only was the transmission bad but the cost exceeded the value of the car. We got rid of it and avoided being stalled on H1 for hours. I should've known better and thank goodness I got a 2nd opinion. Go to Leeward or capital if you live in Waipio. I bought the Cat Shield and was looking for a installer. They gave me 2 shops who is authorized for the installation on Oahu. Waipio auto repair is one of them. And since im closer to them and didnt want to drive in town i called them. Ray answered and was very polite and informative of the installation. He said he had an opening the next day. I told him shoots. On arrival i was instructed on where the office was and Ray was waiting for me. He was very professional as he was on the phone. Told me how long the install was gonna take and they shouldnt run into any problems. For they installed cat shields on Tacoma's before. After installation he showed me their work and told me that was a smart buy with everything going on with cat thefts. Im a pro active person. I dont wanna buy the cat shield after mine gets stolen. My car engine was making a loud clanking noise. I called Monday morning and brought it in immediately. About an hour later, they called me back and told me it was a pulley that needed to be repaired, and gave me a quote. I gave the go ahead. A few hours later, my car was repaired and ready to go. It's been a couple weeks now and there are no problems. The staff was friendly and very efficient. I had my friend who was an auto mechanic look at the itemized receipt and he told me the price was very reasonable (I personally don't know too much about these things). All in all, my experience was 5/5. I hope I never have to go back, but if I do, they will be the first one I will reach out to. Highly recommended. read more

I wish I did more research before taking my car to this shop. I should've known better, as my brother took his car here and had to bring it back multiple times without the issue ever being resolved - thousands of dollars later. I gave them the benefit of the doubt though. My initial issue was an AC leak. I gladly took it here as it was $1000 less than the Servco dealership quoted me. But less than a week later, my check engine light went on. They made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and couldn't have possibly been related to the evaporator core job (of course) and that it would be done by the end of the day. I ended up having to leave it for TWO NIGHTS and rented a car in the mean time ($$$). They claimed that it was an issue with some sensors, but after the issue was supposedly "fixed", they told me that the same codes were appearing. So $1200+ later, the issue isn't fixed and they suggested I take it to Servco for a possible ECM reprogram/replacement. When I asked the shop owner what I'd have to pay for their misdiagnosis, she claimed they subtracted some of the labor costs and insisted that the work they did was "necessary". Unfortunately, I'm not the expert and trusted their advice but now I question the integrity of their work. After reading the negative reviews, it is unfortunate that the owner does not acknowledge the poor costumer experiences or offer any type of resolution. Got my car serviced several months ago, they kept messaging me about the experience and feedback I had. I never responded. Thinking everything was checked out when I got my car serviced, didn't think anything could go wrong. Today my brakes got sticky meaning I had to press really hard to brake my car! Every time I braked I jerked while I was in the car, obviously I panicked. My friend was in the car with me and he said to pull over, park the car and keep pressing the brake. That helped as it loosened up the brake and felt normal. Once I got back to work I called Waipio Auto and told them about my situation. All she said was oh we're overbooked and our earliest is in late February. And she also said well there's capital auto. Like what???? You guys last did my maintenance, several months in, and you can't even fit me in? And more so referred me to some other company? Smh. Never coming back here again. Definitely disappointed. My 8 year old Toyota Tacoma needed to have its rack and pinion replaced. After looking over numerous reviews for a reliable repair shop, I decided to go with Waipio Auto Repair. I called and spoke to Ray and was told to stop by for a F R E E diagnosis. Most shops I called required a hefty charge up front just to look at the problem. Some even told me that the charge wouldn't be applied to the repair job. After examining my truck, Ray concurred that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. I returned the next morning and job was completed by early afternoon. Unfortunately, while driving home, I detected a loud scaping noise (tire scaping the controller arm). I returned a few days later and Ray fixed the issue by replacing it with another rack and pinion. I highly recommend Waipio Auto for their great work. Ray was pleasant and easy to communicate with. My ABS lights came on. Initially went to my original mechanic who said they are unable to perform this service and recommended another mechanic with a similar name. Ended up at Waipio Auto Repair due to yelp and my confusion. Luckily they do work on ABS! Took my car in and they had to run diagnostics which cost roughly ~125. Unfortunately the part was on a national back order and unable to service. Ray gave me the breakdown and advised to shop around since the part was difficult to obtain. After getting my car back, I barely made it out of their driveway. My car stalled close to the shop. I was able to call the shop to inform them and they gladly took my car back. It was left overnight and I got it back the next day. I know nothing about cars so they said "this this and that" happened but now it should be able to run. I got my car back, it ran fine for 4 months until I was finally able to get my hands on a part. I called to make an appt to take my car in to be serviced for my ABS. I was able to get in 1 week from that day. I dropped off my car at 9am and inquired if they could give me an estimate on how long it would be. Jesse said he would do his best to get my car back to me that day and he would call. I was able to pick up my car the same day. All the ABS and break lights finally gone from my dashboard. I was happy with my service. Driving home I did notice that my car was shaking and had a rough idle at a stop. After driving 7 miles the check engine light came on. I was able to text Luczille and she told me that I could drop it off the next day. Planned to drop off my car and head to work. But my car stalled at the end of my street. I didn't want to chance getting stalled in the freeway so I called for a tow. I informed luczille and she was kind enough to recommend another towing company. At this point, I'm just over my car issues. I just want it to run without any issues The mechanics (ray and Jesse) and Luczille are very kind and understanding. They tried they're best to accommodate me and my car problems. Car issues is never fun but their communication and customer service is what really enticed me to continue my services here. Would have given them a 5 start but I do wish my car didn't have to constantly go back in the garage less than 24 hours after a service. Happened twice in a row after getting sometime done.
