Miles was recommended by a friend. I had a 2019 Harley Sportster which had been neglected and needed to be inspected. Both Miles and his right-hand man were outstanding and very professional in their service and repair of the Sportster. Miles was very detailed in the exam, replacement and repair of the Sportster. Miles communicated with me on every move, as well as photographs and handing me the replaced parts of the bike. I am grateful for the honest, hard work displayed by Miles and his right-hand man. Miles is a dishonest mechanic. Switched original parts on my bike with old used parts. Fixed my bike only to have all the fluid on my garage floor the next morning. Worst shop in America stay away from Miles and 808 . I have heard similar stories about this place . read more

Well, my preliminary discovery visit to 808, with co-owner Peter as my guide, exceeded my wildest expectations by a long, long shot. I have been yearning for better handlebars on my FLRT (a difficult task), but, in Peter's apparently capable hands (and experience), any tripediation that I had going in had completely evaporated by the time I departed. Be going back soon for the fitment, with no reluctance whatever. Don't see that kind of quality in indy shops of any kind too often! read more

I have a 2015 Street Glide special. Though I've been riding MC's for many years, my knowledge on the mechanical aspects are minimal. My bike just didn't sound and run right and it had an oil leak that I couldn't locate if my life depended on it. I've been looking for an honest and reputable motorcycle repair shop for a while to take it to. A friend of mine highly advised me to call "Miles" at 808 Southbay Motorcycles. I contacted Miles and made an appointment to drop it off. When I spoke with him at the shop he was very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable with HD's. We discussed correcting the issues I had with my bike and some possible upgrades...During the repair process he would send me pictures and updates which I really appreciated. When I picked up my bike,..It was a totally different bike!..It runs awesome and sounds like a beast!..He went over and beyond my expectations. Just to mention a few things he did...Cam kit, 2 into 1 exhaust, 808 air cleaner, PC6 tuner, Dyno tuned, replaced all fluids, 808 rear shocks, lowered the front and rear, installed a lower seat (I'm vertically challenged lol)...I'm extremely grateful for the outstanding work that was done on my bike. Amazing service--Joe is very knowledgeable and honest. I was told by three different shops that I was going to need to make a very expensive repair. I told a buddy of mine about the issue with my bike, and he told me to bring it by 808 and to talk to Joe. He checked my bike out, made a simple adjustment (to him), and now my bike is handling great. He saved a ton of money. I'll definitely be going back to 808 for everything. read more

If you want to customize your bike, or are in need of some service, go to 808 and see Miles. Miles is the best moto-tech/mechanic in the area. He's honest and he'll take good care of you. Unlike Hudson and their techs. Miles can work on your Harley to your Busa... and your mini bike. :D He's got the experience and he'll leave you wanting to tell everyone how great he is; like, what I'm doing. Seriously. After a year of telling my co-workers about him, one finally went to see him. He said Miles was the best referral he's received, and he's going to wish he[coworker, not Miles] didn't move to Riverside. read more

My 09 Street glide overheated coming back from Santa Barbara on the 126 fwy. I had my bike towed in to Miles on a friend`s recommendation. Miles started taking the bike apart, Miles sent pictures to show me what he was seeing, while I was at work. There were multiple issues in my primary, I had engine oil leaking into my primary, a tensioner that had failed, metal shavings in my primary and my stater was going bad. Miles is an honest guy. He fixed all the issues the same day and I paid considerably less than I expected. The bike runs great now I`ll be going to Miles from now on. I am a satisfied customer. read more

If I had to describe this shop with one word; integrity. Both Joe and Miles are excellent and knowledgeable. They understand the love of motorcycle and simply want you to have the best ride. I brought my bike in and came out with unbelievably good results! In conclusion, bring your bike to them. This is the same idiot who ran Dia Motorsport and went outta business. He's a lousy mechanic and has cost me a lot of money in having to get my bike redone the right way at another shop. He's also a liar that has installed parts on my bike telling me that they were for my bike and after checking, found out they were for another model. I found this out because they didn't fit so well and so I took the bike to two other shops and both told me the same, that the parts were forced on and not meant for my bike. My "performance" engine built by Miles never ran right. I gave him several tries to get it running right. Several times I had to leave my bike with him and every time I got it back it didn't run right. Now I have spent a lot of money with another shop to get it to run right. I know I am not the only one who has had the same problems. I am not a regular Yelp reviewer but I had to get on here to let others know what I went through with this guy. read more

I decided to pull my bike from the shop, then all of a sudden they have the tools to fix the bike. (Which I did) I had to call them again to get the keys to my bike and they gave me my bike in worse condition I gave it to them. Find another shop. Not worth your time.

My 2007 CBR1000RR wasn't drivable due to the hydraulic clutch probably having air in the line and…read morein general needing a flush. The transmission would engage even with the clutch pulled all the way in. I would have needed a tow and then service at a shop, of which there aren't really any that close to me. Alfredo to the rescue! He showed up and in about 30 minute had the clutch working perfectly again after a flush and fill right in my driveway. He also showed me some tips on keeping air out of the clutch reservoir, which is easy to do on this particular bike. The price was also very low, not to mention the fact I didn't have to flat-bed tow it to a shop. In addition, he did a quick inspection and we came up with a plan to address all the other maintenance needs in a couple months when my brakes need service. I'm really happy with Alfadog and I will definitely be using Alfredo as my mechanic from now on.

What he did do, however, is he did do a great diagnosis and then let me know my various options which turned out to be that the best thing I could do was take my bike back to the dealer. To tell my story, I own a Royal Enfield and the bike died on me. I had it towed to the shop and Jerry and his team checked it out. As this is a Royal Enfield, they are fairly rare and parts for them can be pretty hard to come by. After the diagnosis, Jerry took the time to call the various dealers in the area and even check on eBay to see if he could get the part. When he contacted me he informed me that he had no way of knowing where or when he would be able to find that part. Thus, we discussed the matter and it was decided that probably the best thing to do was to take the bike back to the dealership where they have better access to the parts. He held the bike for me for a few days, when it could finally be towed to the dealership. He is a very nice and friendly individual and really knows his stuff. Moreover, he didn't try to charge me an absurd amount of money just to give me a diagnosis and he was very honest about the fact that he would have trouble getting the part. Thus, he is a very trustworthy business owner which I believe you could easily relying on to get your bike fixed correctly.

I was confused since their text clearly stated $89.99 including parts and labor. I also mentioned that I appeared to have been double-charged and tried to show the owner the charge on his phone. He refused to look, checked his computer, and said it showed only one charge and told me to contact my credit card company. Later that day, my son rode his bike and came home after about an hour saying his rear brake wasn't working. He had to slam on his front brake to stop and ended up crashing. He came home with a bruised and scraped knee and a sprained wrist that now requires him to wear a brace for a month. I immediately called the shop and was told to bring the bike back in. The owner said the issue was a "glazed rotor" and that we needed a new rotor. I declined the additional service. What's concerning is that the bike was returned to us with a rear brake that did not function properly. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner accused my son of doing wheelies, which is simply not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The pricing was inconsistent, concerns about billing were dismissed, and most importantly, the bike was returned in an unsafe condition. I would strongly recommend others double-check their work before riding

I bought my new 2023 Road Glide St and was pretty stoked on it. I finally finished my 500 mile break in period and now I can be more aggressive on her. After riding for a while I've noticed that I was missing the grunt n power that I really wanted out of the stock 117cu in. I was originally going to go with a 131 crate motor and have dealership install it but for the price I was going to shop around. My friend suggested 808 Southbay Motorcycle. I went there and met Miles the shop owner, he just recently built a 132cu in sns motor on a customers bike. He started that bike up and OMG .... that baby sounded like a beast!! I've asked Miles if he can build me something like that. He told me no problem and the way he will build it will be way better than that crate motor with better internals which will make it more reliable as well. I told him let's do it! After he finished my bike I was more than pleased with the fit and finish of my bike. The cost would've been the same or less than dealership with more power and reliability. He also had my bike dyno tuned.. final numbers were 150hp and 150tq. He said he could've got more power but I wanted something reliable and rideable. Miles and Poncho are honest people that won't cut corners and they'll tell you straight up answers! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I brought my Harley in to get repaired. It worked for a week before giving out so I took it back. Once I took it back the owner Michael was rude and sarcastic. He told me it would be an easy fix and I have to come back to pick it up the same day. Fast forward TWO months and I've consistently asked for an update every week. They could not give me a straight answer. I decided to pull my bike from the shop, then all of a sudden they have the tools to fix the bike. I still kept my decision to pull my bike from their shop and when I do they tell me I did not give them a key to the bike. (Which I did) I had to call them again to get the keys to my bike and they gave me my bike in worse condition I gave it to them. Find another shop. Not worth your time.

What he did do, however, is he did do a great diagnosis and then let me know my various options which turned out to be that the best thing I could do was take my bike back to the dealer. To tell my story, I own a Royal Enfield and the bike died on me. I had it towed to the shop and Jerry and his team checked it out. As this is a Royal Enfield, they are fairly rare and parts for them can be pretty hard to come by. After the diagnosis, Jerry took the time to call the various dealers in the area and even check on eBay to see if he could get the part. When he contacted me he informed me that he had no way of knowing where or when he would be able to find that part. Thus, we discussed the matter and it was decided that probably the best thing to do was to take the bike back to the dealership where they have better access to the parts. He held the bike for me for a few days, when it could finally be towed to the dealership. He is a very nice and friendly individual and really knows his stuff. Moreover, he didn't try to charge me an absurd amount of money just to give me a diagnosis and he was very honest about the fact that he would have trouble getting the part. Thus, he is a very trustworthy business owner which I believe you could easily relying on to get your bike fixed correctly.
