One of my favorite places to eat! Many options, both breakfast and lunch depending on when you go. Workers are super friendly and is a great place to meet up with friends to chat and eat!

Gonna be honest with you, looked at some of the pictures here on yelp and thought that it wasn't that impressive. Ended up eating there and let me tell you!! My breakfast was amazing! The cold brew was tasty! I'm gonna eat there again tomorrow! I don't even wanna try a different place!

828 Cafe was the perfect lunch spot for us while passing thru town. The menu has tons of variety. We sat in the patio and enjoyed fresh lemonade, an acai bowl, fries and a chorizo burrito - all delicious! You could tell everything was prepared fresh. I look forward to stopping by again next time we're in the area.

Absolutely lovely restaurant with incredible food! I have a gluten sensitivity and the tick-born disease Alpha-gal so I can't eat red meat or dairy. Was excited to see gluten free bread and vegan options on the menu! They have excellent cold brew coffee and an impressive selection of aqua frescas. I got watermelon and it was incredible! Kind servers, clean, and they have a patio!

    Beautiful hand-painted murals all around!

The artwork drew us in, the ambiance, food, and service will bring us back. We were visit family in the area, and drove by this beautifully adorned cafe. There were 5 of us and it was very quick to order at the counter - a wide array of breakfast options with plenty of Latin American flair, which was perfect for us. We had the croissant sandwich with bacon, eggs, and French toast, the guava French toast, and more than I can recall now, but I snapped a few pics before it all disappeared - every bite was delicious. One of the employees, I believe it was Mariana, but it was hard to hear clearly with the hubbub of this local favorite. I highly recommend and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

The food at brunch was very good indeed, great guava French toast, sausage, and small side of fresh fruit. Their iced tea (unsweetend, in my case, sweetend for my friend) was great, as well. And the atmosphere is fun, simple, has both indoor and outdoor seating and is very welcoming--as is a helpful staff who also were very careful regarding health precautions germane to the Covid-19 situation. However, one glaring problem: despite being located on the Little Tennessee River Greenway--a very popular trail with cyclists--there was no place to chain up your bike! No bike rack, nothing. Not even a handy street sign or anything useful at all. And the logo for 828 Café is even a bear riding a bike! You are right on a bike trail, have a bike in your logo, and yet no bike rack? I don't get it. Aside from needing a bike rack however, it's a charming place with good brunch dishes.

We were not real hungry so ordered from the appetizer menu. Tomato bisque, smoked trout dip with crackers, Roasted beet salad and a glass of sangria. The tomato basil bisque was absolute "must try" good. The smoked trout was much to salty, maybe just my taste buds. The roasted beet salad was also good with fresh greens and an interesting assortment of almonds. But the beets were not roasted. Fresh beets are full of sugar and when halved or quartered then roasted, the sugar caramelizes and gives a unique flavor to the beets. These beets had no special flavor, they were from a can and quartered. Now the really bad, especially as they are a winery. I like sangria, it's a refreshing cool summer drink, composed of fresh fruit (apples, pears, plums, grapes and a healthy portion of citrus) and wine that is left to marinate. I watched the bartender add some 1/4inch pieces of green apples to a glass, fill with ice cubes and add wine. That is not sangria, that is watered down wine with an apple garnish. I will say that the food at other tables really looked good.

When it was our turn to order the lady behind the counter wasn't very pleasant. But I took into consideration that maybe she was having a bad day or had had a sour customer earlier. So I started to joke with her and then she smiled and laughed. We have been back lots of times and she always greets us with a smile and is very pleasant. We're buddies! I believe that first impressions should be taken with a grain of salt, we all have bad days. If a server is having a bad day give them a break and be nice. They'll appreciate it. Their sandwiches are always good and the restaurant is clean and well stocked.

She then started taking everything out of the bowl, huffing and talking crap about me in Spanish--very rude. I only asked if this could be done because it was done on my first salad without having to ask....now it seemed like the most inconvenient thing for her to do....we also heard her talking crap about other customers as they walked in while she was eating in the back... i was unable to get her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag, but I can say I will not be returning to this subway again...which is sad because we enjoy eating here
