You won't find a better deal in our town. Friendly, pricing is incredible, consistently GREAT food. It is the home town spot.

I imagine a memo went out saying that all locals are to come to The Normandie for breakfast. This is a old school, no frills, what-you-see-is-what-you-get style diner. I went in for breakfast with my grandfather after spending some time on the Appalachian Trail. The menu is somewhat limited, but you're certainly compensated by the prices here. The coffee was so so, but was topped of instantaneously. The service was excellent; our food came promptly, and our waitress was quick and direct.

It was very good, if you like country cooking and I do. I also had their Hamburgers, and it was delicious!

Please clean your coffee pots. Good coffee is a must for a breakfast restaurant.

While it is easy enough to find, let GPS take you there as you need to work around a one-way street…read moreto a smaller side street. There is a sign on the front of the building. The restaurant shares space in the building with a package shipping store and they have signs allocating parking for each business. The restaurant does have parking adjacent to the building in front as well as additional parking around the side. There was no specific handicapped space but there is a ramp in the front to the entrance door. Be aware the front door is for entering and the side door for exit only. If you park on the side you will need to walk around to the front to enter. The cashier is on the side near the exit door so the flow through the restaurant is pretty controlled. Also, there is a step down as you exit from the side door so be aware. There is a small waiting area as you walk in. We were greeted as soon as we entered and only waited a couple minutes for a table. All seating is tables and they are spaced well so you do not feel crowded. While the menu is typical for a diner, they also have daily specials written on chalkboards in a couple places around the walls. One interesting thing to note is the menu included not only the "regular" price, but also the discounted cash price. We placed out drink order and then a few minutes later placed the food order. The food did take about 25 minutes to arrive but the coffee never stopped flowing while we were waiting, and the background noise was low so conversation was easy. Even though the dining area was full our servers were very attentive. The eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy were exceptional. The eggs were cooked as ordered, the hand-patted sausage was fresh and had a nice crispy outside without being dry inside. The biscuits are homemade and the sausage gravy had noticeable sausage chunks. I did add pepper, but that is a personal preference. The western omelet had all the ingredients folded into the cooked eggs. The ingredients all had a slight char from the grill which really elevated the flavor. The hash browns were typical, nothing special but cooked perfectly. The biscuit holds up to butter and jelly very well. This was an outstanding breakfast. The servers are efficient, the food is wonderful, and the overall experience was refreshing. This is a must stop whenever you are in the area.

I had the BBQ Pork sandwich with FF. The sandwich was big, lots of meat and it was really good. I was going to ask if it was cooked in house but I forgot , but it was good. My partner had breakfast which enjoyed a lot. Over easy eggs looked good, bacon was crispy the hash browns were crispy also. The wait staff were very sweet. Service was fast, refills on tea were offered and they checked on us several times. We liked it and will go back for breakfast. He said the biscuits were very good!! Only breakfast and lunch. Worth a trip!!!
