Update on "840 Inspections". The inspector failed to test the HVAC system. When I asked him why the system was not tested, he told me that "HVAC performance is subjective"... shocking! The first time I used the dishwasher I immediately noticed that the unit was not fastened to anything. It was not fastened to the countertop or the adjacent cabinets. How could he have missed that? Answer: He never tested the dishwasher. "840 Inspections" has a list of all the things they do not test. It's a long list. Read it before you consider hiring them. read more

Veterans beware - if you miss the big green one from your service days 840 inspections will be happy to allow you to experience that again. Make it right is just a marketing slogan - got the highest level inspection they offer stated possible water intrusion in basement so I got a basement intrusion company to inspect based on recommendations. They said all good - then I was in the home for less than an hour after closing to see water running down from a cracked pipe. Called because I thought they would make it right and they stated we said possible water intrusion - I replied it was a clearly cracked pipe leaking not intrusion and was politely told to pretty much kick rocks. To top it off the plumber told me I should have got a home inspection because any home inspector would have easily caught it - I said well not 840 Inspections apparently. They also missed obvious termite evidence according to terminex and to make things even better I ran the basement shower for the first time since they apparently missed things then immediately flooded my basement. Attention to detail - make it right - all laughable. None of this was hidden by the way - empty house and cinder block walls. I would have been better to have just walked around the house myself looking at things and saved a couple grand. read more

Steve was an absolute rockstar. He was extremely thorough and found multiple things to be fixed, including some standing water due to sloping in the crawl space! Moving from out of state I but way too much faith in the inspection company. While they mentioned several issues with the home they neglected the cracks in the brick, evidence of flooding and major termite damage. You can get a refund if you agree to remove a negative review but you are still stuck with a house that you would not of purchased. The inspection was not completed in the best interest of the customer. read more
