Assam Milk Tea w/ chewy but nice, brown sugar flavored boba pearls
    Thao L.

I happen to be in the Katy area doing groceries here and saw that Atami Xpress was closed today. While inside, I came across a new boba drink menu at the bakery so I wanted to give it a try here to see how is it compared to Atami. I ordered an Assam Milk Tea w/ boba pearls and the service was pretty quick even though I waited for about 30 seconds for someone at the counter. The pearls were a bit chewy but had a good brown sugar flavor to it. Sometimes we also buy bread from here too and my favorite is the long cheese bread. I'll might was well order boba from here again next time if I come back and Atami is still closed.

Thank goodness that we stopped in at 85 degrees bakery - Katy for a quick snack on the last Sunday…read morein December 2025. I ended up saving these delicious treats for dinner on Monday when dinner plans that evening fell thru. We arrived at 85 Degrees Bakery after having lunch at Supreme Dumplings - Katy nearby. My friend decided to pick up something for their family and I was like okay, let me pick up something too. My friend, her husband, and I went to town here and we all picked up something for later. We probably spent about a good 1/2 hour here looking and seeing what we wanted to purchase. In the end, I found 4 items that seemed to be the best items to purchase. Anything chocolate and pastry like was the best choice for me. The prices here were decent and moderately priced at around $3.25 average per item. I also gotten a strawberry banana smoothie to go as well. For the most part though, the experience here at this 85 C Bakery here in Katy is almost the same as in my hometown of Honolulu, where we have 85 C Bakery there too. The bakery itself is rather small but has everything you'd like from an Asian style bakery. Felt pretty good and nice to have the Asian influence in South Texas when you are away from home. I enjoyed my time here at 85 C Bakery and if you're into delicious snacks and pastries, consider coming here. It's a Starbucks alternative for sure and you get a better assortment of options to choose from, as well as delicious smoothies too. As soon as I paid for my purchase, I drank that smoothie like it was my job before we got back into the car. It was quite refreshing and enjoyable. The overall experience here at 85 C Bakery - Katy Texas was very pleasant and refreshing. It was a short stop on the way to Katy Mills Mall on a Sunday December 2025 afternoon. The service here was good and fast while being friendly and professional. The bakery itself was very small, but good to walk around and definitely felt like home. I had to wait about 5 minutes before leaving because they had to make my smoothie and it was not made beforehand. Everything was nice and definitely a place where to go to enjoy the little things in life that you take for granted every day. And so, if you find yourself in the area of Katy, Texas and want to indulge yourself in some awesome pastries, chocolate or other confections, consider coming here to check them out. It's a bakery that is open to anyone and everyone who loves delicious pastries and desserts. The smoothies are pretty good too and refreshing. Definitely recommended if you are in the area I want something other than the usual assortment of burgers, fries, and soft drinks. Not sure if we have free Wi-Fi, but we did not stay long to test out that theory. The place was air-conditioned, but we did not know if it was actually on or not. What I said, 85C bakery is a good place to come to when you need something other and candy or fast food to fill the mid hunger slot in your day. Come on over if you're in the area, they'll be glad to have you there. This 85 C Bakery is located in Katy, Texas. It's physically located at 23330 Grand Circle Boulevard and it's part of the West Side Mall - Katy. It was also pretty close to supreme dumplings, where I had lunch for coming here. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have plenty of parking for you to choose from. But best bet is to come here early to secure the best parking spot available. Not sure if there is regional public transportation system here in Katy, but probably best to have your own ride, a rental, or friends who are willing to take you around town. Then there's always Uber or a lift who can take you on command, but it does cost money for you to do so. With that said, 85C bakery here in Katy, Texas, where a lot of happiness is these days, is the place to be where you want to have snacks at your convenience. It's not really in Houston but it's worth a drive if you're headed out that direction. I'm not sure if they have mobile ordering or not but maybe that could be the case if you want that option too. Do yourself a favor and come out here for your next snack attack. If you're in the area and love an alternative to fast food options, definitely come check this face out. You won't regret it. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. Support local! B+

Good Bakery, different pastry options, smoothies, teas…read more Service is ok, not outstanding. ambiance is ok. Main issue is that when we choose Iced tea or other Iced drinks, there is too much ice cubes. When asked for NO Ice the employees say that it is NOT possible, and reduced ICE then they serve the drink lowering the level of the drink because it is the Manager's Owners Instructions. We do not like it, as the people go there for teas or drinks and NOT TO BUY ICE. Speaking with the Manager, not nice at all. Service needs to improve a lot

The golfeados were tasty, ham & cachitos were yummy (and I'm not usually a fan of cachitos), and the bomboloni with pastry cream was good too! I have yet to find something I don't like here. And they even have pan andino for sale here - which they were out of when I came. I have to also mention that they make great coffee as well as a great seasonal pannetone as well (available during the winter holiday season). Service is friendly, helpful, and full of happy people. Ambience is of a small shop with counter seating and one outdoor table for seating. Most people take food to go as there's not many nearby seating even though it's located in historic Old Katy.

This wasn't my first time to visit this very interesting little Venezuelan bakery tucked into…read moredowntown Katy. I'd been here about a year ago and remembered having some nice pastries, and I might've even taken home some sourdough bread at that time. But recently (2025), a few videos have been cropping up online, and, when I saw that they are making a panettone, I took the opportunity with this trip out to Katy to pop in and sample one. It turns out they have a small portion for $10 and then the large one is $45. It had some nice chocolate flavor bits, but, in my opinion, was not one that I would look forward to having again (dry). I suspect one would want to steam it to reconstitute some moistness. Too much work for me. Especially at a $45 price point for the large one. Since it was lunchtime I decided to also sample one of their pizzas which I had also seen in a video, looking authentically VPN, with a puffy, inflated rim with lots of big air bubbles and gelatinization. Some videos follow, showing the guy shaping and stretching the dough by hand. My concern was, watching him, that the pizza dough was having every bit of air and bubbles beaten out of it by his technique. Additionally, it looked like with all the flour he was putting on it, that it was going to lose a lot of the dough hydration ( good hydration, that can result in a truly spectacular pizza). A much wetter dough is what I hoped for. What I was observing was one similar to the underwhelming ones at Coppa Osteria. I've spent a lot of time in Italy. I've had a lot of pizze. I've even had some good ones here in greater Houston. And I've even had some pinsa here, thanks to a good friend who makes a spectacular Roman style pinsa. So I knew that I had to try the pizza today and evaluate it. There were a few bubbles but, as suspected, they'd beaten all the air out. It was not a great pizza dough. But it did have chew and some flexibility. It wasnt a dry, matzoh cracker crust. The sauce was tasty but pretty salty for my personal tastes. But others might not find it so. You might ask, well, why didn't you talk to them and have them make it right for you? But you see, the thing is I wanted to see how it comes out of the kitchen, what the kitchen staff says "this is perfect and we are satisfied with this product that we're putting out". For me it's more important to know what the kitchen feels is a good product to sell. And then again you get into the question of authenticity versus did I like the taste of it?. Perhaps in Venezuela this is the style of pizza that has evolved. And if this is authentically prepared as it would be in a Venezuelan restaurant in Venezuela, then I cannot criticize it for authenticity, and I can only say that for my personal taste, it was not enjoyable. Authenticity always over rides personal taste.

So, I got the idea to make it a bun by cutting two slices for a mini hamburger later that night, and it was good. The following morning, I made a breakfast sandwich and another sandwich for lunch. I can say this was the best bread I have ever had; it's a very light bread, too. So, now I want to try more of their breads, sandwiches, coffee, and teas. I saw the Iced Caffe Latte and the Iced Lavender; I would like to try them, too. Also, this place is very pleasing to the eye, with the color scheme being mostly light. I like the see-through-closed glass doors to the pastries. I think this area is heated, which is why the pastries are so fresh. There is also plenty of room to sit, bigger and smaller tables. It's a quaint place on the quiet side to relax, chat and dine. Also the service was great!

The cake tasted old and stale like it had been sitting in the store for days. The cream was hard instead of soft and fresh, and the cake itself was dry and unpleasant. It honestly felt like a display cake rather than a fresh cake made for customers. It was upsetting seeing the kids excited for cake and then unable to eat it. For the price paid, this quality is unacceptable. I would avoid this store if you care about freshness and quality.
