Each time I visit this 85 Degrees C Bakery, lines are long or it takes awhile to ring up customers. There's always people sitting inside in groups or you can sit outside on the bench area. It's a great location, but you have to give them a bit of patience here. Pastries/breads/cookies/cakes all looks great and tastes good. Everything is fully stocked and plentiful in the mornings. After placing my order at the kiosk for a medium iced Tiger Boba Latte/milk beverage, I waited 15-20 minutes before getting my drink. I'm still glad it only costs me $4.90 for the cup and they haven't raised prices on beverages. It's the only beverage I purchased here for years. Decent and good tasting, more milky flavor, and not overly sweet. $4.90 is much better than $7 elsewhere. I wish they had more tables and chairs inside. Most are usually or always taken, even during morning hours before lunchtime. Decent place. Not much has changed. read more

Yelp lists 3 stars as OK, so I'll give them that. I got a couple of milk teas and the requested adjustments definitely made a difference. When that happens, I have to give them kudos because at some places, the changes are so subtle they're almost meaningless. The drinks were OK, and they did the job on a a cold and rainy morning. As for the pastries, they were just OK. I've had better at other bakeries (and other branches of this same company), and with the plethora of options around for baked goods, you can find better. With that being said, it may just have been the couple of choices we had for food. The ube filled baked good was not very good, but I say that as an ube fiend. I have ube a lot, including back in the motherland. It was more like taro than ube, when it came to taste. As for the quantity, there wasn't a lot of it either. The actually bread part was soft and nice, and it was pretty. The egg tarts weren't the best. They left something to be desired. I would suggest getting something else. Decided to come here around 3 PM on a Saturday while waiting for another restaurant nearby. You either can order a drink on the kiosk or at the cash register. Came here early in the morning to grab some pastries before heading over to the outlets for retail therapy. It's the usual 85 bakery with the same good pastry selection - we grabbed what we wanted and headed back out. Since it was early, there wasn't a line and we were in and out in about 10 mins. It was very quiet in the AM. Maybe it's because of the time of day that we come (we've been to this location a few times before), but the selection of pastries always seem less than other locations. But this time we tried their Ube Cream Cake, which is an ube sponge cake, layered with brûlée filling and ube paste, and decorated with whipped cream, white chocolate, and fresh fruit. I really enjoyed the ube paste on the inside. However, I felt like the sponge cake could be lighter, and their brûlée filling didn't seem to be incorporated nicely with the rest of the cake. I came in and got a mango custard bun, coconut milk bun, and a Thai tea.the mango custard and coconut bun was solid. The Thai tea was also tasty. It's perfect for those who have a sweet tooth. My sister and I got the sundried ravioli, the cinnamon churro, spinach and kale danish, potato croquette, and the coffee butter. It was kind of busy when we went in but once we got in line, we didn't have to wait too long for our turn. Our cashier was friendly and efficient without making us feel rushed. My only gripe with them are how sweet they tend to make the drinks and how you seemingly cannot adjust sweetness as shown on the menu, but otherwise a pretty decent spot for drinks and you get a pretty good bang for your buck. We oftenvisit 85 C bakery and during one of recent vists we had a horrible experience. My wife who does not eat any meat asked the person is the billing if the potato croquette contains any meat as the ingridents does not explicitly mention that. We were assured that the potato croquette was not having any meat but once my wife had it after billing she found bits of pork was shocked and felt terrible. Adding to our shock both person in the billing and the manager tried covering the sale and took our receipt of billing and trashed it. We were asked to leave stating it was a mistake for informing that the potato croquette was not containing any meat. Not sure what sort of customer service is present and its a serious issue feeding a vegetarian person meat. Completely unacceptable and no remorse!!! read more

Our group came here to get dessert and snacks after lunch at Kura revolving sushi bar. It was really fun to grab a tray and go through the display cases full of pastries and treats. That was a fun experience before we even had anything to eat. The service was fine (nothing really notable). For hanging around afterwards, there is a standing countertop, one cushion bench, and some outside sofas. The swiss rolls were like a cloud in terms of texture and the coconut / chocolate flavors were both subtle / nuanced. The custard tarts were incredible - the custard part was just barely set so it melts in your mouth, which is a pleasing contrast to the buttery, flaky, crunchy crust. The wheat bread was also really light. Especially the sanitary conditions and wing bakery selection (although the last one could be due to the end of the day). Came in at 6 PM and almost got to the empty shells of bakery. Even though I've picked two, to please, my sweet tooth, however, I think the cells should have a bit more to choose from. Good and pleasant service did brighten up the visit. Pretty authentic light fixtures in the main hall vaulted ceilings did impress. Bathroom condition on the way out is the one that truly disappointed. Located in the corner of the VERY busy Pacific Pearl shopping center, this 85 degree bakery is situated in the perfect area and just goes to show how popular this chain has become. Every single time I come, there is a line almost through the door. Helpfully, the line snakes right through the bread, so while you are waiting to check out, you will be endlessly tempted by the sweet smell of fresh breads and be tempted to buy more than you need. A brilliant idea, if I could say so myself. Overall, your experience here will likely be determined by how busy the cafe is on that particular day. Of note, there is minimal indoor seating at this location, but plenty of offerings outside in the common areas of the shopping center. read more

I often frequent 85 C bakery but had not gotten around to writing a review for them. I come to this location in Pleasanton often. I'm so glad they opened at this location because it's so convenient and I love their breads and cakes! The store has nice decor and is inviting. The staff is good in general and nothing amazing but not bad service. I typically get an assortment of breads including hotdog bun, taro bun, chocolate bun, brioche bread, and more. All the breads are similar in texture and are fresh and delicious. The Brioche bun is my 2 year old daughter's favorite because of its sweet and slightly crunch topping. The breading itself is super soft. I also have tried a few of their cakes in slices form. I've gotten their mango mousse, strawberry mousse, tiramisu and coffee cake before. They are all delicious! I'm a big fan of coffee flavored desserts so that's my favorite . I also love the egg tarts. They sell tarts in prepackaged boxes which is nice. Always will be my go to for great Asian breads and desserts! read more

Out dining at the Pacific Pearl mall in Pleasanton and it was nice to see another 85°C Bakery here as there are now over 1,000 locations worldwide. So much goodness here as they offer over 60 varieties of fresh Asian and European style breads and pastries that are baked hourly and you can also get cakes and various types of coffees and teas and smoothies. After lunch we stopped in to get some items. This location setup is similar to other locations. Grab a tray and place your chosen goodies on it and check out at the counter. I got my favorites, marble taro bun and a mango custard bun. I noticed a sign for the taro mochi boroh, which had a crunchy taro boroh crust with taro and mochi filling. Sounds delish and I wanted to get one but the shelf was empty. I asked a worker and she said they are sold out. Happy to get my favorites, but I must come back to an 85°C for the taro mochi boroh. read more
