Working with Liz was great! She was super prompt with returning my emails and recommended the top flavors and amount I would need for my party. I ordered 7 dozen with a mix of lemon, chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Everyone at the party loved them and kept asking where I had ordered from. Looked up this place and nowhere did it say it wasn't a storefront. I drove 20 minutes and couldn't find the location. Lucky I stumbled across Noland's cake shop and still got my sweet tooth fix. I'm gonna go ahead and give them 3 stars because one, it's a small business and two, I called and they didn't answer the phone so I should've took that as a red flag immediately.. My suggestion is to put very BOLDLY on online listing that it's not a storefront so people aren't driving trying to find the location trying to satisfy a sweet tooth. read more

I'm so thankful I found Lizzy D's! I live out of state and wanted to get a special cake for my best friend's baby shower. From the moment I inquired about a custom cake, Lizzy was very quick to respond. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted, and she was able to incorporate the different elements into one cake design. Delicious and Beautiful! A few weeks before my wedding I decided to add on cupcakes. After evaluating a few places, I decided to go with Liz since she was located fairly close to my venue and had the best pricing. A part of me was a little worried since I didn't have much to go off of besides Yelp reviews, but it worked out great. Honestly I couldn't have been more pleased and am super happy I ordered from Liz. We communicated through email but she had a reasonable response time frame and was super accommodating for my requests which I really appreciated. She delivered to my venue without additional charge and was willing to provide me the documentation needed by my venue for delivery (proof of insurance and signed code of conduct) which was awesome given we had so much going on that day. I think the picture speaks for itself. The cupcakes were beautiful and tasted really good - my favorite was lemon drop! I actually got specific compliments about them afterwards from my guests wanting to know where I got them from. Totally recommend! read more

I am so happy that I discovered Liz through Yelp. I wanted to do the least amount of work possible planning my twin boys' first birthday. Just a few email exchanges with Liz and she delivered 2 mini party packs with Jumbo cupcakes decorated in firetruck theme to our event location even before I arrived for setup. So simple. My husband wanted Cake Pops for his birthday (instead of cake), so I turned to Yelp to find a local business specializing in cake pops. I found Liz and decided to use her due to her amazing reviews by others. I sent my order via email and she responded within the hour! She was very quick with responces and extremely accomodating. She delivered 2 dozen cake pops right to my work in the afternoon. It was quick and easy and she was so incredibly nice! Each cake pop was perfectly individually wrapped and looked delicious! Lizzy D's made a beautifully decorated Dallas Cowboy cake and cake pops for my son's 8th bday party. They were totally responsive and the cake ordering process was very easy. However there was a mishap with the cake, I contacted Lizzy and she insisted on refunding me my money for the cake and felt terrible about the situation. When contacting her to tell her what happen my intent was never to get a refund but just to let her know in the event there were other cakes made in the same batch. I made that clear to her, but she insisted upon a refund!!! I appreciated her responsiveness and willingness without argument to make the situation right. She did the cupcakes for my baby shower. We went with apple pie, chocolate whopper, and a white chocolate that she made pink for us. They were so delicious, there were barely any leftovers and they were all eaten by the end of the day. She delivered, set up, and was a pleasure to interact with. We got to sample some of Lizzy D Minis' gourmet cupcakes on a Livermore bike and wine tasting tour. The mini-cupcakes are super cute and very tasty, but two bites and you're done. The minimum order is three dozen, which costs either $40 or $56 (for the sampler) depending on which part of the website you look at. Mini-cupcakes purchased by the flavor are generally listed for $1.50 each, but you have to buy at least a dozen ($18). However, they do offer free delivery if you're within 20 miles of Pleasanton. They're clearly targeting the events market (birthdays, baby/bridal showers, corporate events, etc...) where people are willing to pay a premium for something kind of unique. But if you compare their prices to that of other mini-cupcake makers or gourmet chocolate companies, they're toward the low end of the range. read more

Liz made my 3 year old a gorgeous Frozen themed work of art. Not only was it beautiful, but it was absolutely delicious. It seems like the prettier the cake, the less likely it is to taste good, but not with Lizzy's cakes. The cake had two layers: chocolate with peanut butter filling and vanilla cake with strawberry filling. The only downside was the cost - cake was very expensive - $160 and it served 40 people. read more

Yummy and pretty! We ordered red velvet (everyone's favorite), creme brulee, vanilla, and lemon cake pops for our graduation celebration. They were a huge hit! The cake inside is so moist, and the outside coating is thin and just right (not that horrible tasting fondant), with crunchy sugar for some extra yum. I look forward to ordering from her again. Ordered 7 dozen mini's for my daughter's first birthday party and these cupcakes were a HIT for guests of all ages. Cinnamon, carrot cake, double chocolate, and chocolate malted crunch were all wonderful and guests loved standing by the cupcake tower and tasting each one. Liz made my daughter's Minnie Mouse cake last year and all the guests loved it. So when it's time for her birthday this year, I had to call Liz. I turn and ask the lady after she was done with her customer how much for this delight? She said it's $24. Without question I grabbed said pie, and went to the register. I told her that Berry is my favorite, and she went on to say that every Friday is Pie Day. She also mentioned that if I ever needed anything in particular, I could call ahead. She could have it prepared for me. Wonderful lady and beautiful service. Might I add that a pie of this weight and stature normally runs about $35 even $40 in some places. We had a slice the next day because I could not bear it any longer. Without lie this is the best pie I've had in years!!!! Years or even perhaps ever. It has to be realized that if there is Berry Pie of any kind on the menu it will be ordered even to go. There were actual whole berries, and it was not full of sugar like some pies. Maybe I just prefer the hearty richness of the costco food court chocolate chip cookie but I can't go back to this Bakery. We went in to get a snack before dinner and ACCIDENTALLY came out with a BAG OF PASTRIES! Bahahaha I loved their vegetarian Croquette, as well that giant deep fried pecan croissant! Oh and the cranberry cream scone was creamy and not too sweet with so much flavor! The Everything Croissant was sooo flavorful and the pizza was so soft with the bread and the mayo "sauce" made it creamy and delicious! I couldn't pick a favorite, but everything had a unique flavor, texture and style! I also got an iced green tea that hit the spot! Service was great, the employees seemed like they truly liked working there as I kept on talking about how impressive their selection was.... Hee I can't WAIT to go back again!!! The dough was flaky, buttery, a right balance between crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside with each bite. And the Flan Vanille is on another level. I've tried so many different flans and even know how to make a pretty good one myself, but this is the kind of flan I would bring to a party if I wanted to impress everyone. The bakery itself is beautiful, and I love that you can watch the bakers working through the glass window. Their pastry display is also dangerous because everything looks so good, with tons of sweet and savory options. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Staffs were friendly and welcoming. I also tried their holiday berry croissant on my second visit. They definitely did NOT skimp on the filling lol. It was actually a little too much filling-to-croissant ratio for me, but I appreciate the generosity! Strawberry Cookie were soft and fresh Prices are pretty average for artisan pastries, and the quality and size is definitely worth it. Such a great bakery in Danville and I'll absolutely be back.

Pain Suisse $6.50 a chocolate crioissant that has lingering pieces of crisp chocolate that oozed out while baking. The croissant had flaky layers that was very well crafted. Not overly sweet & the ideal pastry with a cup of coffee. Egg Turkey Breakfast Bun $6 a filling savory treat crafted w/attention & care. Mango Passionfruit Sorbet $12 had both a good balance of mango & Passionfruit purée but it was a little sweet due to the 2 fruits added, but it certainly was a nice way to cool off in 90 degree weather. Everything was authentic & the customer service was the cherry on top.

With that being said, it may just have been the couple of choices we had for food. The ube filled baked good was not very good, but I say that as an ube fiend. I have ube a lot, including back in the motherland. It was more like taro than ube, when it came to taste. As for the quantity, there wasn't a lot of it either. The actually bread part was soft and nice, and it was pretty. The egg tarts weren't the best. They left something to be desired. I would suggest getting something else. Maybe we made the wrong choices this time at 85, because I've definitely had better baked goods at their other locations.

Some other quotes I got nearly knocked me out of my chair but Lizzy was VERY reasonable, delivered an amazing cake to my house the day of the party. Also, it was at that point that I decided these were going to be ALL MINE! The kids can have the stale tasteless overly sweet macarons from the grocery store, their immature taste buds aren't yet deserving of these. Lol! The filling was creamy and rich with elegant buttercream, but no so rich that it's sickly sweet. What I mean to say it that they were perfectly balanced. The creator has all of my appreciation and respect! I'm saving her number because these are the most impressive and satisfying macarons that I've tasted in a very long time. Now I'm curious about cupcakes, cakes, etc. I'm an avid fan of supporting small businesses, but even more so when I practically have a foodgasm while eating their macarons!

Cakes By Bless prepared the cake at her request and it was delivered the day of the party. What happened next was a flurry of excitement as we called in other people from our building, and even delivery people to come look at the cake! The cake was designed to look like legal books with a piece of notepad paper and even an edible pen. The chocolate-filled books had a frosting layer under the fondant (all vegan) and moist chocolate cake with a layer of chocolate fudge in the middle. It was really good and much easier to cut into than we expected. It was a really big hit in our office and more than one person asked for the number to show other friends and family. Even took pictures of the outside and inside of the beautiful cake. The amazing art cake showed a true talent of baking. I could never do something like this and was really impressed at the taste and design. I would recommend Cakes By Bless (Bless is the lady's name who bakes the cakes) to any friend with a themed party or celebration. You will truly be the hit of the party if you show up with one of her pieces of delicious art.
