    Steak Tips W/wild Mushrooms

We love a night out 85 Main. We usually see Hillary working, she is always attentive, personable, and makes awesome drinks ! She's the best! All the staff are super friendly, always acknowledge us and say hello! My favorite drink is the Pear-tini . Abel is the best and always makes us a Pink Zebra roll to start. Fish and Chips with sweet potato fries is my hubby's favorite. The best fish and chips in the area in my opinion. Light and fluffy. I'm always stealing a bite .. I love the steak tips with wild mushrooms. The mushroom ravioli and the Bolognese with gnocchi is also a couple of our favorites ! You won't be disappointed here !

85 Main is always my go to when I'm in the Putnam area ! The food is always delicious and fresh ! Even when they are busy the staff are friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a chill vibe this is the place to be. Also our favorite bartender Hillary makes the best cocktails!

The service was decent, the waitress friendly, but the food was far below par for what you paid. The $55 ribeye came out well done (we asked for Medium Rare), which is just crazy. And then the 8-piece Shrimp sushi had only 2 pieces with Shrimp on it? That doesn't make sense. The steamers were okay, but a little tasteless. The cocktails were good!

My 1st time stopping here, was on a road trip and found this nice part of town . We decided to sit outside but the tables were so rickety we couldn't put our drinks on them and I got frustrated and moved inside to the bar area. I ordered some raw clams and a Kobe beef sushi roll . My girlfriend ordered a hamburger. The guy there that makes the sushi is good, and quick , problem is the sushi just sits there for 15 to 20 minutes before the waitress pick it up . I watched my ( warm ) Kobe beef sit there for at least 15 minutes along with 6 other orders , with little bugs flying around . I found that to be a little disturbing, one the burger came out they just reached over and grabbed my now cold $20 Kobe sushi roll . There was sushi still sitting there when I finished that was there when I sat down . The oysters were good . Well shucked , I wanted some big ones , they were on the small size . My sushi roll was very uneventful. I was too hungry to send it back . I had a bite of the burger and it was the highlight of the $90 meal .

We stopped in for lunch after antiquing and ordered 4 different things off the menu. The fish and chips seemed to be the favorite and the side of sweet potato fries were a good addition. The burger was average and the wings were okay. I wasn't a fan of the blue cheese on the side, which is weird because I usually love it. It tasted like salad dressing from a bottle. The food took awhile to come but the server was nice. I think I may try something else next time I'm in the area for the price. Most dishes for lunch were $18-$20.

85 main never fails to make every visit a special experience! When my parents came to visit this month, it was the first stop we made, as I'm always bragging about it to them! We started our meal with the cheese plate and oysters (they have a huge selection of oysters!) Our server, Hilary, explained all the menu items my parents were interested in and anticipated our needs before we even thought to ask! Our dinners came out perfectly timed after we had finished our starters; my mom had the salmon steak, a delicious, thick piece of salmon (check out their socials to see videos of it being prepared!) and my dad had the fish and chips, his favorite dish! The portion was massive, which my dad was thrilled about because he has quite the appetite and had been waiting to order this. Perfectly cooked, and he even ordered a second one to go and had it for lunch the next day . I had the bolognese, because, well, it's 85 main's bolognese. If you haven't tried it, check the specials menu on their website and get there early when they have it! It goes fast! Thanks Hilary and everyone at 85 main for making my parents' visit a wonderful memory for us!

Always love the food. It is a bit pricey but I would still recommend. The fresh bread and oil is yummy. The service is usually great even on busy days. The atmosphere is cool especially on the bar side with the stars on the ceiling on or in the cellar with the wine if you wanted a more private space.

I'm so happy I finally tried this place! In a local and every time I drive by this place it's packed! This was my first time and it was excellent. The waiter was very nice, the food was sooo flavorful and didn't take too long to come out and the atmosphere was nice! I will definitely be back!!

Carrot Coconut Bisque with the watery Clam Chowder in the background.

After reading other reviews here and on other sites along with recommendations for people we came in contact with on our recent trip, we were quite disappointed. The hostess quickly sat us at a table in the walkway with my husbands chair being constantly run into by the same server. She wasn't friendly, and our server was the same. It was a crisp fall day and soup for lunch sounded perfect. Mr. B went with the clam chowder and I opted for their special of the day, carrot coconut bisque. The clam chowder was watery, lacked flavor and salt, but was filled with pieces of sand. My carrot coconut bisque was unique and I actually loved it. Given the opportunity, there are other spots around Putnam that are better and I wouldn't go back to 85 Main.

The space is gorgeous, the vibe is elevated without being stuffy, and on most nights the service really shines. It's the kind of place you want to love. But our Easter brunch left me feeling more "hmm" than "wow." We opted for the 7‑course holiday tasting, which sounded festive and ambitious, but the execution didn't quite match the promise. Courses arrived beautifully plated, but several felt more conceptual than flavorful, and the pacing never fully found its rhythm. For the price point and the occasion, I was hoping for a bit more sparkle -- something that made the meal feel truly celebratory, as well as plentiful. The kids' options were another miss. While I appreciate that Anya aims for an elevated dining experience, the selections didn't feel particularly kid‑friendly. When you're trying to keep little ones happy through a long, multi‑course brunch, having approachable, familiar choices goes a long way. Here, the offerings felt more like scaled‑down adult dishes than something designed with kids in mind. That said, the staff was warm, the atmosphere was lovely, and there were moments where the meal hinted at what Anya does best. There's clearly talent in the kitchen and pride in the presentation -- it just didn't fully land this time. Overall, a beautiful spot with potential for a standout holiday experience, but our Easter brunch fell somewhere in the middle. Cheers

First off, the lunch special is where it's at. I got 4 entrees and 3 soups for $50- and this food will last me and my bf for at LEAST the whole weekend (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Lunch special is only Mon-Sat until 3:30pm so make sure you are timing your order right. Below is what I ordered: -3 maki roll special ($13.95): -2 spicy crab salad roll- This place legit has the best spicy crab salad roll I've ever eaten. This is one of my fav rolls and I always like to order it at other sushi places but other places never hit the same. The roll at Yamato has a slight crunch to it and the crab salad is seasoned and moist. -1 eel avocado roll- hits, pretty hard to mess this one up. -also comes with a side of soup -Teriyaki Yakiniku ($10.95): I always get this. Beef is tender and the fried rice is sooo good. Seasoned well and not too mushy and not too hard. Hits even more with the yumyum sauce drizzled on top. Pretty big serving- I can never finish the whole thing. Also they only give you two, but the glazed carrots are so good. This also comes with a side of soup. -Salmon Teriyaki ($10.95): I can't believe how affordable this is. Basically the same thing as the previous entree but salmon. You get two fillets that are kinda thin but live sup to the price. Well seasoned, though not as soft as other places. Also comes with a side of soup. -Chicken Yakisoba ($14.50): this was my first time having this dish here, it was okay. Kinda just tasted like lomein but not as seasoned- I had to pour lots of soy sauce over it. Personally wouldn't recommended unless you are looking for a basic and kinda bland noodle dish (might be good for kids?). Oh the chicken was a lil dry too. But it wasn't horrible- I still ate it because I like all noodles but prob won't go for this one again. The sides of soup are all good. The miso soup is a basic miso soup. The clear soup I think is just chicken broth? But then also has a few scallions and mushrooms which have obviously been previously dried. I feel like the lunch specials also used to come with a side salad but maybe they changed that? Anyway the salad dressing they give is usually BOMB and I'm sad I didn't get any this time. We ordered takeout and the wait was 30 minutes but there's plenty of things to do around the area while you wait. The staff are all nice, and it's not usually too busy inside. When I went in around 3 there were basically no dine in tables and like two other people picking up takeout. Overall, you have to know which dishes are good or not and if you want the bang for your buck, wait for lunchtime. If you get one thing out of this review... get the spicy crab salad roll and the beef yakiniku!!

It was a bit above average for the area and prices were better than I've seen elsewhere. My husband and I dined in on a Saturday around 6 pm. The place was already slammed with online orders and it did not stop the entire hour or so we spent in the building. Everything is disposable even when dining in and eating out of styrofoam isn't my preference but ok. It's a small establishment and I would guess the overwhelming majority of their business comes through online ordering. So, order online rather than go in as there is no real ambiance. I tend to order pretty basic rolls and sashimi which I think really levels the playing field when it comes to sushi. So, my commentary on the sushi is just based on the quality of the fish. It was alright not particularly vibrant or fresh. But not bad either. The pieces of sashimi were literally the biggest I've ever seen. They were too big to comfortably one-bite. The spicy tuna roll was pretty good and didn't require soy sauce to make it palatable. The miso soup was also good. My husband loved their salad dressing. If we decide to order again I would skip the sashimi and probably order some à la cart nigiri to form my final opinion. The search for a truly killer sushi place around here continues.

We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

The creamy, rich broth was balanced, the noodles were bouncy (maybe homemade?), and the toppings were all good!
